Jeremy Clarkson article about Meghan
Rockybooboo · 18/12/2022 00:28
I know this isn't The Royal Family board. I'm not analysing Meghan as I don't know her and she will have no affect on my life. I have become interested in the press and public reaction to her as it feels misogynistic which obviously does affect me.
This is from Jeremy Clarkson today. I feel like is the dark she's and we're hunting witches again.
Meghan, though, is a different story. I hate her. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level. At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her. Everyone who’s my age thinks the same way.”

I haven't read all the articles, and have purposefully avoided the M&H stuff because I feel they're basically just Instagram influencers... they only exist if you pay give them attention. So maybe someone can explain...
From what I've seen, I don't think it's her as a woman JC hates, but what she has influenced Harry to do and the repercussions on him and the royal family and England that JC disapproves of. Correct me if I'm wrong!
Harry was in line to be King. For many he was the favourite. He had the charisma, the personality and that slight edge to be interesting. Then comes Meghan and suddenly he abandons his family, his life, his country. He slags it off on a daily basis. He sells his story, his family's stories and his soul for hundreds of millions... basically profiteering on airing the royal's dirty laundry. The only common denominator is Meghan, who 'appears' to solely be interested in fame and attention, despite them both constantly saying they want to be left alone, despite all the evidence to the contrary.
That's just the impression I've gotten, I'll openly admit it has probably been influenced by propaganda, so if anyone has a different side or correct me, I'm open to the insight :).
Leaving aside your "impression", you've summed up the misogyny Harry talked of on Netflix. Blame the woman for something a man does.
it is a feminist issue OP, I agree. I really hope Clarkson gets what he deserves.

Sorry but what point are you trying to make here? Even if this were true does it merit a visceral hatred of MM and wanting to see her humiliated and assaulted? The article is disgusting. I do wonder about anyone who reads it and this isn’t their first reaction.
Sweetmotherofallthatisholyabov · 18/12/2022 09:57
@c1n1c it's her as a woman he's talking about though. If he thinks all that and hates all that by all mines write it. But he didn't. He wrote about her as a woman. It doesn't matter (in my opinion) whether you like the woman or not, it's unacceptable to speak about someone like that. And I think anyone defending him because of their personal opinion of her needs to have a chat with themselves. What he wrote and what was published is disgusting.
Minimalme · 18/12/2022 09:59
"Everyone who's my aged feels the same way". He is dangerously stupid if he believes that.
And to put Meghan Markle and Nichola Sturgeon into the the same category of Rose West makes me wonder about his sanity.
I hope he looses all his work and gets sued for everything he's got.
I must admit that seeing the blatant hatred he has expressed, makes me believe Meghan has been treated appallingly.

Harry was never going to be King (barring a horrific accident!) - the birth of William's children pushed him down the line of succession.
The article in question vividly describes how Clarkson fantasises about stripping a woman (who has already been subject to racist articles in the press) naked in public and assaulting her. Do you think it's acceptable for any newspaper to publish the rape fantasies of a middle aged man about a woman in the public eye?
Whatever she has or hasn't done, it's not ok to incite violence against her.

None of this is true. Harry says in the documentary that he made the decision to leave and not Meghan and he was never going to be king. He's behind all of his brother's kids in the live if succession.

I really couldn’t care less about M&H, not a fan in the slightest, but this week’s absolute obsessive drubbing in countless papers in the U.K. has on this point proved them right. There are some funny columns but SO many absolutely vituperative ones, and the Jeremy Clarkson one is jaw-dropping.
I was just discussing with someone how funny his farming show was and now I feel sick.
Sweetmotherofallthatisholyabov · 18/12/2022 10:01
bahahahhaha I've just had the funniest thought- after being paraded through the streets naked with faeces flung at her Cersei blew up the whole institution who did that to her and ended up as queen 😂😂😂 maybe not the endgame JC is looking for
RumblePhish · 18/12/2022 10:02
He’s a weird guy. Like Giles Coren he can have perfectly sensible interesting considered opinions, he can be very funny and then he can be such an enormous shit that I feel grubby reading a single word he writes. I think far more people JC’s age will think he’s a massive tool than go anywhere close to sharing his repulsive view.

I was hoping for enlightenment rather than targeted, misogynistic comments. I admitted above i hadn't read all the articles so the point I was trying to get at is WHY he doesn't like her.
People have to learn that just because you hate a person, doesn't mean you hate a gender. Same for Piers Morgan. Meghan 'appears' to be the reason in Harry's change in personality, coincidental timing???. This has nothing to do with her gender, and I never suggested that. Had she been a friend from the army, or had Harry turned out to be gay and he did these things, the same questions would have been asked.
JC chose a poor 'punishment' for Meghan though, which is I think what people are more upset about, but would people have been up in arms with that comment had they said we should parade Boris Johnson through the streets in a similar manner? (Devil's advocate)

The article is misogynistic. He talks about Meghan controlling Harry with 'vivid bedroom promises' and then he describes a graphic, sexually violent, degrading humiliation that he would like to inflict on her. It is extremely disingenuous to pretend that he would write the same about a man or that his dislike of her is not fuelled by sexism and misogyny. A man has written about how he dreams of assaulting a naked woman - there is no way in which you can argue this is not misogynistic.
Babasghost · 18/12/2022 10:17
Him and piers Morgan, just disgusting dangerous women haters.
The sun was always a disgusting rag, nobody in the northwest buys it because of their Hillsborough coverage.
But the fact that of all the protected characters only our sex us still open season for abuse is terrifying.
That powerful men can be popular when they demean and hate women is just horribke.
TheVanguardSix · 18/12/2022 10:20
Horrible fucking abusive man. I actually know this information firsthand: JC shattered the life of the producer he hit (because he didn’t order him steak on the set). JC ruined that guys life, career, blacklisted him, broke him financially. JC is the worst example of a man. He thrives and spouts hate and is given a license to ruin the lives of others. Jeremy Clarkson is an odious prick who minimises his actions and writes off his own ruinous behaviour as if it’s the mere action of a man having one bad episode while destroying years of people’s lives, weakening their families, and annihilating their reputations so that he comes off looking like the decent bloke. Assclown. He attacks people because he’s a sociopath with an ego gone rogue.

I really dislike MM but JC's article and the open hatred and misygny is quite frightening. The fact it has been published is frightening.
I think it needs to be dealt with hard by OFCOM.
It is frightening.
He's making it acceptable to lie in bed and fantasise/ plot violence against women, as if it wasnt enough of a issue already.
It's the grinding of the teeth whike laying in bed for some reason it makes it more real
