I know this isn't The Royal Family board. I'm not analysing Meghan as I don't know her and she will have no affect on my life. I have become interested in the press and public reaction to her as it feels misogynistic which obviously does affect me.
This is from Jeremy Clarkson today. I feel like is the dark she's and we're hunting witches again.
Meghan, though, is a different story. I hate her. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level. At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her. Everyone who’s my age thinks the same way.”

Wasn’t the whole point of Cersei’s walk of shame was that it was meant to humble her but it just made her more vengeful?
I didn’t like Cersei but even I felt disgusted and sad for her having to go through that ordeal. It was filmed in a way to show that the High Sparrow, Septa Una, the Sparrows and the crowd were the ones in the wrong. They pretend to be so superior and virtuous compared to the extravagant ‘slut’ Queen Cersei, but they were just judgemental, preachy arseholes who got off by humiliating people and telling them (mainly women and gay men) what to do. Hmm, who does that sound like?
If that really was the analogy he was going for (the other thing doesn’t bear thinking about), I think that scene was really lost on him.

I have no interest in MM one way or the other but this vile, deranged, perverted attack on a woman is unacceptable. Suggesting she should be paraded naked while people throw s* at her? I don't care if it's "just his writing style" It's disgusting and inciting hate.

I think lots of people are aware of the type of rubbish he's said and done in the past, and are still shocked at this! "To be fair...it's just how he is" is an excuse not an argument - and writing about cars Vs writing about women are not equivalent. I honestly don't understand anyone who doesn't have a totally horrified reaction to what he wrote - he actually said he fantasizes about people throwing sh*t at her naked. it's not funny, it's not hyperbole, it's not parody. It's grim, unacceptable misogyny.

Camilla didn’t invite them - it wasn’t her event. She is not to blame for what horrible misogynists write, even if she has met them. I’m not a fan of guilt by association, particularly when the association is so tenuous.
Again, it doesn’t surprise me that Clarkson attended and then wrote this, nor that the Sun published it. An arrogant prick writing an extremely misogynistic article for a shit rag that should have been closed down a decade ago.

People are suggesting this article should be withdrawn but I don't agree. It should be spread and read widely. He thought it, he wrote it, his editor approved it, the newspaper published it. They can be held responsible for their decisions into the future. Her children will eventually read it. Kate and William's children will read what was said about their aunt. Charlotte will read it. Other young women will read it. These things have repercussions into the future. Let's have this hatred of women in the open so we can all see it. Bring it on. We women are not afraid of the truth.

It's disgusting what he wrote about Meghan and this comes days after a man was jailed for murdering Zara Aleena. Now you have another man who has written in print how he wants to punish & humiliate a woman. Yet he was given print space because he's a middle aged white man with establishment connections so untouchable. Society definitely has gone down the sinkhole particularly if nothing is done about this abusive misogynist.

It’s a vile article. I wonder what his daughter and partner think of it? Not that I’m in anyway holding them responsible for his words but I’d be disgusted if a male relative of mine wrote similar. Does he not think of them when he wrote this. He’d be furious if someone wrote similar about them.

This isnt about free speech. It's an extremely concerning thing for this man to say about a woman, regardless of the reference.
Regardless of how someone feels about the subject of his hatred (MM), this sort of fear-inducing monologue is completely unacceptable and should be made clear. It could well be you or your daughter, sister or mother.
Deranged fans already find every reason to act on their depraved fantasies without adding new material to their rolodex of thoughts. You'd think some people would be more sensible but age is really just a number.
Hatred will truly consume someone in every way and I hope he feels the brunt of it.

I am just thinking about the high profile cases of recent years where women have been brutalised and murdered by the type of sickos who will read that article in the Sun Sarah Everad, Zara Aleena and others
It’s not just about Meghan Markle it is about the objectification and sexualising of women.
It’s a fucking disgrace
