Snag tights

I just bought some chub rub shorts from this company because I'm fat. It came with this charming card.
Thanks but I am not interested in having your views foisted upon me everytime I buy something from you! I am paying good money for a product - nothing else.
I do not want your political, religious, or any other views at all. Just send the shorts.
Amazed they didn't ask for my pronouns too. I am getting sick of this constant virtue signalling.

I don't buy anything from that company for that reason. Definitely not against Pride etc. I just find the endless mission creep of everything absolutely tedious.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 23/06/2022 13:38

Wondering if "Fat womens lives matter" would have been more appropriate.

I like the tights but hate the marketing.
Kinda torn, I really would like to ditch them.

LetMeGoogleThat · 23/06/2022 14:02

I loved Snag tights until they started with all of this bs, must admit I've blocked their adverts on everything because they clearly aren't interested in marketing to me 🤷‍♀️

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 14:17

Yes, I've stopped buying from them since their marketing made it clear they were more interested in fetish than basic boring clothing needs.

I've commented on a few of their ads. There's a gorgeous one of a curvy woman in a ballet pose that I admired and asked for that to be their focus, rather than the fetish that's become their norm.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 23/06/2022 14:24

I love Snag Tights because they are designed to fit every shape and size of both men and women. I really enjoy their diverse range of models so you can see how the items look on 'real people' (not that traditional models aren't real), however I really dislike that the images they use often focus on the model as the subject rather than the product.
For example, they do a suspender style tights and the model is kneeling on a bed, the tights are hardly visible in the shot!

Back to the point, their whole 'thing' is inclusivity and they are very vocal about being a company supporting trans rights. Personally I feel that if you find their stance on this annoying/offensive/upsetting etc, then it's you who should shop elsewhere.

Butteryflakycrust83 · 23/06/2022 14:35

There are already several topics on Snag. Please, no more.

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 14:36

I'm thrilled their tights are for every shape and size, both men and women.

Perhaps they could post some photos of foresters and farmers wearing tights under their trousers for warmth. Or police officers.

Instead it's all about queer which is fine, but not appealing if you want to banish stereotypes and prejudice.

Also, posting sexualised pictures of people in children's clothes and sexualising overweight women is not a look that I'm comfortable with. As an overweight woman, I loved their clothes when they were about style, fit and practicality. I'm really not interested now the photos look like porn shots.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 23/06/2022 15:09

Also, posting sexualised pictures of people in children's clothes

I haven't seen this! Though I don't think I fully know what you mean re the children's clothing?

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 23/06/2022 15:11

Also, they do say on their website that the models are real customers who buy their tights and they show Snag how they wear them and style them. Perhaps they haven't had any farmers or police officers come forward wanting to show off how they wear them?
Certainly the farmers and only police officer (male) I know wouldn't wear them for work and even if they did they wouldn't pose in photos for the website.

SiobhanSharpe · 23/06/2022 15:13

Do you mean people dressing up as children?
Ok if it's Bo-Peep and they're going to a fancy dress party.
Otherwise... not so much.

Butteryflakycrust83 · 23/06/2022 15:13

People who like anime/cosplay - its not dressing up as a child.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/06/2022 15:16

Is the design of the nose and cheeks on the postcard deliberate?
Their tights are too 'jolly' for me but I am not convinced by clothing companies pushing a political agenda.

pumpkinmash · 23/06/2022 15:20

I also love the tights but struggle to want to buy from the company.

Do you also remember how before covid the owner went on a rant about shit the nhs and everyone who works there was and then had to back down and apologise as so many nurses were customers?

I think they've always been a company pushing their ideals and it's increasingly become less about the tights.

crossstitchingnana · 23/06/2022 15:32

I would like to see one of their adverts with a normal, average woman. They use really big people which has no relevance to me. I can't tell what's they would look like on someone under 18 stone.

DogsAndGin · 23/06/2022 15:50

Tights for every shape and size of men and women you say?

What about pregnant women? They’ve not got a maternity range

I thought they did?? They certainly did!

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 16:05

I think the idea, dogs and gin, is that they'd be comfortable even in pregnancy. You're right though, no pictures of pregnant women.

As for pictures from their customers, some of them are but the majority are clearly professional photo shoots.

The kiddy stuff is the 'women with bunches wearing my little pony and hello kitty, sucking lollipops' vibe. It's just off.

Oh and there was a weird clown one, if I remember correctly.

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 16:12

To be fair, they've reined it in since last time I looked. These are tamer than I've seen before.

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 16:13

Tasteful. Really fits my style.

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2022 16:15

I do love how they show the tights on people of a specific size and height so you can get a feel for what size will work best.

They are so close to great!

ChagSameachDoreen · 23/06/2022 16:17

I stopped buying them when they had that photo of a disgusting hairy man in womanface as an advert. No thanks.

KittenKong · 23/06/2022 17:42

It’s all just bloody marketing crap. I’m fed up to the back teeth of rainbows and drag queens. It means nothing now to women and gay people. It’s just a mens and spicy straights festival.

TheOrigRights · 23/06/2022 19:10

I've just hidden Snag tights ad from my FB.
I am entirely put off by seeing someone model a thong while I'm scrolling FB.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 23/06/2022 19:23

NHS rant about how crap we all are? Well that's sealed it for me, I worked in the NHS for 40 years. They won't be wanting my custom then.
