round my body again - I know why - we are going away for the weekend.

I have to get things done but am finding it hard to move. My cheeks are flushed - trying to stop biting my cheeks and tongue.

Just want to cry.

need to do one thing at once and need to stop holding my breath

have no idea where to start
writing on here to calm myself a bit so I can carry on.

Don't worry about things.....make a cup of tea and sit down and take 10 minutes to yourself....watch TV....and RELAX. Then do ONE thing....it'll get done.

Ledodgy · 23/01/2009 09:35

First of all make sure you've had breakfast. Low blood sugar can increase anxiety. Write a list of the things you have to do and tick them off as you go along. To calm the breathing thing down cup your hands around your mouth and nose and breathe in an out. The breathing thing is caused by breathing in too much C02.

Thanks LMN - thing is I can't get up to make a cuppa

Deep breaths....you CAN do it.....

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 23/01/2009 09:39

am trying to do the breathing from the diagrhapm (sp?) that my therapist taught me and trying to ground myself with my feet but it isn't making any difference

Try singing it will regulate your breathing.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 23/01/2009 09:40

really? sing what?

OP posts:
Ledodgy · 23/01/2009 09:41

any song.

jooseyfruit · 23/01/2009 09:41

stay here for a bit,
do the breathing thing that ledodgy suggests, you need to get more co2 in your system,
if you hyperventilate you've got too much 02 in your bod a that makes you feel rushy and tingly and unpleasant.

remember you are not going to faint, it won't get worse and you will feel better soon.

only get up when you are ready, there's no rush.

LittleMissNorty · 23/01/2009 09:42

I've always been told to look around me and concentrate on what I can see....look out of the window - whats the weather doing? Notice things around you and concentrate on that - not how you are feeling....visualisation I think its called....try it

Ledodgy · 23/01/2009 09:44

It's too much c02 you need less.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 23/01/2009 09:45

ok
thanks everyone I seem to be able to move my legs again - still feel like everything is rushing round my body too fast.
I want to go and make a cuppa but don't want to fall over
