Have you done hypnotherapy and how to find a good one?

We're looking into getting a hypnotherapist around some anxiety treatment for work performance, don't want to go into too much detail as that might be outing.

I've been told hypnotherapy works well for mild anxieties, if you have any experience own that please comment on this too...

I'm not sure where to start, there's a local recommendation (fully booked for the foreseeable, only times we can't make left) but I've seen you can also do online sessions.

Basically, where to start? Any advice would be very welcome!

thank you

I had hypnotherapy for the first time last summer. I looked at local therapists and their reviews and what they offered. One guy had loads of great reviews and years of experience. He offered a free consultation which I went to. Long story short, I just did not take to him or trust him. I felt bad that I had used the free consultation, but just did not want him to put me under.

I phoned another one and although she was not as experienced, I just liked her from our brief phone call. The hypnotherapy worked to some extent. I was trying to overcome a phobia, and I have partially overcome it. I also feel much calmer and less angry than I was before the therapy. She taught me how to self-hypnotise, which is useful. I think personal rapport and trust is more important than a zillion reviews.

I can't speak about online sessions because I didn't try it.
