Hi everyone,

I'm feeling a bit down at moment. Everything feels a bit meh, but nothing major. I feel like I'm rarely content, always seeing the negative.

I want to hear if you're generally happy with your life, why, what is it about your life that you like. Especially if you're happy in spite of things now being perfect, I'd love to know why, for inspiration 🙂

I am a really happy person. Last weekend I had to wait while my car was sorted out, I was chatting to the guy in the car dealership and he commented on what a positive person I am. It's true! It helps that I have a good life (nice husband, lovely kids, a job I enjoy), but even when things are hard I am good at looking on the bright side. As others have said, it's important not to focus on superficial stuff - I honestly don't care if someone has a nicer outfit or is thinner and prettier than me. I'm happy as I am Smile

@whiteroseredrose thank you for writing your post! At last someone has articulated how I feel. My last job was horrendously stressful. Far too much responsibility and an environment that was too cut throat. I was happier before I started climbing the ladder. I've accepted I'll never generate great wealth, but I cut my cloth.

I think accepting the type of personality I am has really helped. It doesn't mean I don't push myself at times, but I'm realistic with what I can cope with. Rather than berate myself like I did for years, I am learning to appreciate myself and just let me be. Not everyone can run the world, somebody needs to do the paperwork!

Comparison can still be my undoing, but it's like anything, it takes time and practice.

What an inspirational thread. Amazing stories.
