Exhaustion

Struggling with depression again, can feel it creeping up on me but trying my best to keep it at bay. Totally burnt out, got the weekend to myself though to recharge. I've had suicidal thoughts before but they tend to creep back up on me when I'm tired. Like as soon as I'm exhausted it's where my mind wanders to. I know it sounds ridiculous and like I'm over reacting but does anyone else get like this?

Hi KateFleming,

We're really sorry to hear you're feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you'll be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek real life help and support as well.

We'd also like to point you in the direction of the Mind website - they have a really useful page called Tips for everyday living which may be helpful.

Sending good wishes Flowers

Do you suffer with SAD OP? I do and take vit D. I also take B vitamins, high strength vit C and Omega 3, all of which help with unwanted thoughts and feelings. I also find (when I can do it) positive self talk helps.

I get like this too. I do find changing my diet helps, but of course, that's hard too because I don't have the energy to cook. I take supplements with iron, vitamin D and B vitamins and I do think that helps somewhat, as does forcing myself outside for a bit.

I drink a lot of smoothies when I feel like this, with lots of different seeds and nuts. Easy to make, no effort and I think it helps.
