Sudden onset very low mood

Out of the blue. Normal Sunday (usually a bit crap but I don’t usually have this reaction). Normal stuff in the morning (dealing with DC, walk and bike to park, then DD activity while I played with DS). Got home and bang, it hit me. One of the extreme things I did was bang my head against the wall in response to a common whine from DS (he didn’t see this, he was in another room). I have been out shopping to collect my thoughts but considered driving much further away. Now utterly unable to shake the mood.
Quite frightened by myself. I want to just go to bed, but that’s not fair on the DC and I need to do things like laundry and cooking.

Hi Parrotonmyshoulder,

Sorry you're feeling like this.

Just thought I'd bump your post and also see how you're feeling today?

Thanks so much for asking.
I took a much needed ‘mental health day’ (aka phoned in sick) and found myself feeling much better, indeed back to normal.
I think it was absolute mental and physical exhaustion. I have spent some time planning how to get some regular time to myself without having to skive off work. Just need to discuss this with the rest of the family.

Really pleased to hear you're feeling so much better, and well done for taking some time out of work - it sounds like exactly what you needed!
