My friend is due back at 6.

I'm struggling to cope with severe depression and anxiety. Have splitting headache which I can't deal with, tearful, constantly on verge of a panic attack and hating myself more as the minutes tick by...

Hi just re read your thread and see you take fluoxetine. Silly little thing but for me sometime lavender relaxes me, deep breathing also. Remember this feeling will subside 🙂

Hi Colouringpro, I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. You said your GP wanted to see you in a few days if things hadn't improved - I'm sure there's more she can do.

colouringinpro · 22/11/2018 00:45

Ì ŔEALLY want to get in the car and just drivè

Would it help to talk about your kids? How old are they, what are they into at the moment?

colouringinpro · 22/11/2018 00:59

Dd13 autistic. Vv anxious every day, distracted me from ds10 lovely warm hearted. Just walking again after trauma and grief of last 10 years made him so I'll his legs stopped working

That's amazing your DS is walking again. He must be so proud of himself. Has it made a big difference to life?

What a lovely thing to say about your son - that he's warm hearted. I have a younger boy and he's kind and thoughtful.

I think most parents feel they don't give their children as much attention as they'd like, I certainly do. I'm sure your boy feels very loved and understands his sister needs more attention sometimes.

Regressionconfession · 22/11/2018 01:07

Does your DD have any interests? What does she want for Christmas?

Shriek · 22/11/2018 01:19

I'm loving the 'let it snow' jumper! Smile

Lovely past time looking at Christmas at jumpers! Cheery and festive.

Are you feeling more settled now. I do hope so. Just called by to offer some support.

Regressionconfession · 22/11/2018 01:22

I liked the bauble one Shriek!! (Let it snow was also nice). I'm currently shopping for socks and listening to a Harry Potter audio.

Regressionconfession · 22/11/2018 01:25

I'm going to try and get to sleep colouringinpro. I hope you manage to get some too.

Regressionconfession · 22/11/2018 06:22

I hope you're feeling a bit better this morning colouringinpro. Do you think you could manage seeing your GP today?

TC144 · 22/11/2018 07:30

Morning colouringinpro. Did you manage any sleep?

JoanneMumsnet · 22/11/2018 10:04

Hi colouringinpro, we're really sorry to hear you're feeling this way.

We can see you're getting lots of good support here from other Mumsnetters, and we're also glad to hear that your GP has been so understanding. We just thought we'd add a link to our Mental Health resources. There are lots of organisations listed on it which can offer you more support in real life, such as Mind - their lines are open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays) 0300 123 3393.

Sane.org.uk is another organisation which provides care and emotional support for people with mental health problems (and their families). They have an out-of-hours telephone helpline, open every day of the year from 4.30pm to 10.30pm on 0300 304 7000.

You can also go to the Samaritans website, or email them on [email protected].

We also like to remind everyone (as we always have to do ) that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We really hope things seem a little better this morning, OP. Sending good wishes. Flowers

colouringinpro · 22/11/2018 11:19

Thanks so much. I've had a big sleep. Feel a bit better. Will try and speak to GP. Might see if I've got any propanolol with me to help with anxiety

TC144 · 22/11/2018 13:25

So pleased you managed to sleep. Do try to talk to the doctor if you can today. I hope your friend is aware how you're feeling xx

Shriek · 22/11/2018 15:32

Also, to add, the Samaritans helpline really can be a lifeline in the wee small hours needing to have human contact 116 123.

Whyiseveryonesoangry · 22/11/2018 15:55

Hi, just popped in to see how you are today. Have you managed to get an appointment with your doctor? She sounds brilliant and will do what she can to help you I’m sure.

colouringinpro · 22/11/2018 16:17

Thanks x
I spoke to GP on the phone, she is trying hard to access some mental health support for me. Talked about upping my anti anxiety med which has some anti depressant qualities, but much less risk of increasing suicidal thoughts than uping my fluoxetine.

Thanks for Samaritans number.

Did three hours of real life and now feel dreadful so am back in bed.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Why don't you try a psychiatrist/neurologist/neuropsychiatrist. When I was struggling a few years back I went there (and also a counsellor). I think they are generally better equipped than a GP. He made me take a series of tests; while wearing a sort of net on my head that connected with important points. Resulted in a 58 pages report, with all sorts of values and photos comparing my brain (and activity) to a normal brain (similar age and sex). That resulted in a clear medication plan; I had to go back every two weeks for a couple of months. It worked out in the end though. Maybe worth a try?

I hope you quickly feel better, hang in there, it will get better. Oh I also read a lot of books on the matter including: "Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life".

Shriek · 22/11/2018 16:26

Oh love, feel for you, and sending support from me to you.
Brel that sounds amazing!
How is your reading, is it impacted by your current challenges?
Hope you have some helpful apps or distractions....back to the Christmas festive jumper shopping?

Where did you find the 'let it snow' one...did you want to buy it? I am thinking of going to look! I don't have a Christmas jumper so may be interested in that! I think you said eBay...will check, don't want to be bidding against you though!

colouringinpro · 22/11/2018 16:58

Shriek I'm pretty sure it was h&m, so not too ££.

I think GP would have to refer me to a psychiatrist for anything like that, even it's available
