Terrified I am going to be sectioned

Came to A&E this morning but after seeing the MH liaison they were talking about getting me taxi to go home. They disappeared and then I wandered off to the toilet then thought I would go for a coffee and the upshot was I left. It seems tho I had to see a doctor so they've got the police and made me come back.
I am so scared they are going to section me - they are saying things like "if you need to be in hospital, you'll be in hospital".
I just want to run away and hide but I know they will stop me. They dont seem to understand how terrifying all this is.
I dont really understand why i am so scared as ive been in hospital before and it can help but this time it just seems wrong

Oh sweetie , it is really so scary I know, but please try & trust medical staff, the police are just coming for you becasue they're worried you need help.

If you can't put your fears into words, could you write a text on your phone & show them?

Police are being incredibly horrible to me I tried to wander out to find a cup of tea as I not had anything eat or drink since yestetday and they wouldnt let me
They seem to think treating me like a child will actually achieve something other me behaving like one and refusung to speak to anyone

OK well say that to them, in a text if necessary, tell them you are scared & feeling belittled & ask them to go easy on you ....

Stop wandering off. Unfortunately, for the moment, everyone involved feels that you need supervision. Stamping your foot over that will make them even more convinced. So you need to go with it for now. Let them do their job; no one is trying to hurt you
They're trying to find out what is best for you. If you need a drink, ask one of them to get you one. If the refuse then ask s member if staff. If they still won't get you a drink, that's when you start asking to call a supervising officer.

They still want me in a MH hospital but so far I have refused. Fiftyshades would be cross as I left again and came home.
Police have been round to try to persuade me to go back but i'm not falling for thier Mr nice guy approach. There is a bed identified but it scares me so much that I dont think it would be therapeutic. They have left now - very cross i wouldn't go with them to the hospital, and i am waiting to see if they let it go.

You need to engage with MH services. What you are seeing as them being “cross” is them worrying what could happen if they don’t get you to access help.

There's clearly no helping you at the moment. But I hope you see sense before anything bad happens to you.

What was it that made you go to A&E yesterday morning, and has that been sorted out do you think?

Erinacious no I am alone at home - one of the things they were unhappy with and no, not sorted, still likely to recur. I an struggling a lot at the moment
I think, having seen the responses, I do need to be sensible but it also needs to work for me. I told them if they can find a bed in x hospital (actually my 'local') then i will go, so i will call back and reiterate that. I know people can wait for a bed at home so that might work
I accept I am not putting myself first as I have 2 very important meetings at work Mon, tue which i should attend which is why i refused hospital. Even writing that makes me realise how stupid it sounds

It doesn’t sound stupid to me. Do you think you can manage the work stuff though, if you were in A&E only yesterday? I know people can vary on this so I’m not saying you can’t manage the work stuff.

Sorry to hear you’re alone and that the healthcare professionals and/or police don’t feel happy with the setup. If you feel best waiting for a bed somewhere local to you I think you might need to be seen to be being proactive about preventing any deterioration whilst you wait.

What are the meetings at work? Do you think you're well enough to go to them?

To be honest, OP given the crisis in MH beds at the present time I think that if you are being offered a bed you must genuinely need it quite urgently.

It can be so hard to put work worries aside and put yourself first OP. If they can’t offer you a local place would they agree to some other kind of help until space became available? You do need to tackle this if you’re struggling. Good luck.

They don't have the resources to be finding imaginative ways to offer other options. They've found a bed. That's a miracle in itself, and they wouldn't find you one unless you really need it.

The lack of resources is wrong, very very wrong. But it is what it is.

We all need help sometimes. Right now, it's your time. Please take the help. Often when you're the most against having help, it's because you need it the most.

Thanks for all your comments. It really did help me see things more clearly. Things came to a head again tonight but this time I have agreed to be admitted so now just waiting for a bed to be identified

Hi there, how are you doing?

Awful tbh. The ward is noisy which I can't bear plus I've been verbally and physically abused by other patients. It has got to the stage where I spend the day (10am - 10pm) wandering the streets and I'm just there for meds and sleep. I have wondered about asking for a transfer but not sure how.
Still on the 'plus' side at least I'm safe and still alive

Got back tonight and they decided not to tell me i needed to go to get my meds (they have brought them to me every other time) so no meds tonight as it was too late by the time I realised I hadn't had them.
Fed up.
Have left.
Not sure what to do next.

Do you mean you've left the hospital and are outside alone in the dark OP? Are you safe? I'm sorry things are so difficult for you just now. Do you have a friend or family member you could call to give you some support?

It seems like you need to be in a secure unit since you can't be trusted not to wander off. Do you realise how problematic it is every time you disappear and they have to try and account for you? It's not a hotel, you need to stay put.
