To be wanting some confirmation of reality?

I know I get psychosis and paranoia. I'm on a pile of meds. But tonight I'm really struggling with thoughts of nanobots in my brain controlling my thoughts. I know it's not true but I also think it might be true. It's definitely possible, I read an article about it in New Scientist.

Anyway, is anyone up to help me work it out?

Oh green, you are doing well to keep posting on here. I know the Samaritans used to have an email address...not sure if they have got to having live webchat yet? Maybe a service like that could help you for tonight?

Clicks as in a clicking noise?

Yeah like footsteps on a hard floor from stillettos

I don't think it's serious enough for samaritans. I'm not in any risk. I was considering ringing the crisis team but they will just tell me to go to sleep.

Are you in a flat? Maybe a neighbour pacing while on the phone or some thing?

If in doubt, you could record the noise? If you heard it irl but don't hear it on playback, you have your answer. In case it is a real noise, and something you don't have to worry about.

Why not give them a ring anyway? You can chat to them whilst you're getting yourself a drink and then walking to your bedroom and getting into bed. So if all they say is 'go to sleep' at least they've helped you get into bed by distracting you from anything that's worrying you whilst you are getting ready for bed x

Not in a flat, all the floors are carpet in the house apart from the kitchen

Did you know you can call the Samaritans and chat to them? They're not just for people who are suicidal.

Could just be water dripping? There's a tapping kind of noise at mine at the minute which is just rain water dripping from the window frame (almost drowned out by the bloke snoring upstairs and the ducks next door having some kind of duck shouting match!)

Is you're heating on? That sometimes makes my boiler click (if it cut's off and starts up again). Could be nothing. I'm glad you're ringing them either way op, hopefully they can help Flowers

Tell them you're just feeling a bit uncertain about what's real and what isn't, that it's making you a bit worried and anxious and you just want to chat through how you're feeling and could do with a bit of support

Hi OP, I'm up,
how are you doing? Don't be afraid, I promise you'll be ok.
What do you fancy chatting about? i've got insomnia, currently sat at the dinner table with a sneaky late night/early morn cuppa. could talk the hind leg off a donkey, though! :D I know you are very unsettled right now, but this will pass. It will be ok, and to echo what others have said, I promise there are no nanobots in your brain. Pinky swear.
you can chat to me at any time, But please do consider getting real life support (family/friend/crisis team/samaritans)
Have a huge hug

I'm downstairs now and considering letting the cat into the front room for a cuddle even though she's not really allowed in here. I can hear her bell on her collar so she's the other side of the door.

Tempted to go for a walk but I don't think that would be safe

If you think you might be hearing things op, a walk could turn into a nightmare. On your own anyway. Could end up scaring yourself.

Do you have Facebook messenger? Maybe see if any if your friends are still active/up? Fluffy is gorgeous Smile

Good point.

Now my phone is being weird which isn't helping. I think I can hear my mum talking but why would she be talking at this time of night?

That is one cute cat op! Is she the cuddly type? I have a cat too, but she's definitely not one for cuddles (I have tried and have the claw marks to prove it Grin)
