The only thing I dislike is that Monday follows Sad Hmm But that's only about this week really.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 25/01/2015 18:24

Home again and the house is freezing. At least Gladys is happy to see us though.

Enpoid · 25/01/2015 18:27

I love that you have a cat called Gladys.

I hope you can get your antidepressants sorted, Snowy.

GallicIsCharlie · 25/01/2015 18:28

I like Sundays because they're a "day off" so I don't feel guilty about doing nothing.

I do nothing every day, but generally feel I should be ashamed of it.

You were one of the people she abused, Enpo, nothing to feel bad about there.

Enpoid · 25/01/2015 18:29

What's everyone reading at the moment? I've just polished off Germaine Greer and an Iain M Banks that were both hanging around annoying me with their unfinishedness and am making a start on a Pat Barker novel (that I bought new! In an actual bookshop!) and attempting to ignore the copy of Brain Lock that Mavis wanted me to read.

GallicIsCharlie · 25/01/2015 18:30

Btw, I learned TA from a maladapted fuckwit therapist Grin There's a lot of 'em about!

Enpoid · 25/01/2015 18:33

Thanks Gallic BlushThanks

I still feel I should have found some way to do something about some of the physical and sexual abuse other group members disclosed but realistically I know I behaved as I did for understandable reasons and have forgiven myself.

I kind of know what you mean WRT lack of guilt for inactivity, Gallic - I'm similarly inactive but for some reason have chosen Sunday as my rest day from exercise, and it feels right somehow Grin

SnowyMouse · 25/01/2015 18:33

Thanks enpo

Enpoid · 25/01/2015 18:34

Psychotherapy does seem to draw some unusual people Grin

CaulkheadUpNorth · 25/01/2015 19:54

Ok. Talk to me about mfp, so that I ca use it sensibly.

I've got a daily amount of calories. It's tracking my exercise as its synced. Am I trying to get to the amount of calories, or the new amount (ie the amount plus exercise)

Millie2013 · 25/01/2015 19:55

Psychotherapy does draw some unusual people (who are not mentally normal and attempt to cure themselves by "curing" others")
Quite worrying really :(

Enpoid · 25/01/2015 19:57

It depends how active you told it you were, I think? If you told it you were sedentary, you need to eat the original number of calories, plus the amount of calories you burnt during exercise. That's what I was doing until recently (now I've stopped bothering with logging the exercise and just tell it to calculate my calories assuming I'm moderately active).

Awaiting someone who knows more about MFP tho Grin

SnowyMouse · 25/01/2015 20:00

I only do the number of calories, but then I don't exercise at all.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 25/01/2015 20:02

My phone calculates how many steps I do and whether they are running or walking, so it's automatically adding them. I said I was sedentary because I am now bloody car

If I'm going to use it than I want to in a sensible way rather than a disordered way!

Enpoid · 25/01/2015 20:07

In that case I'm probably not the person to ask as I've blown today's calorie budget on almond butter but am still planning to have haggis dinner.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 25/01/2015 20:11

That's fine. As long as you're not competing against yourself to have as few calories as possible then I don't mind! Blush

I had a whole roast dinner today, I think I've possibly broken it by adding the amount of parsnips I ate.

Enpoid · 25/01/2015 20:17

Anyway I think if you tell it you're sedentary and then log all the exercise you do, it intends you to aim to eat to the adjusted, higher number.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 25/01/2015 20:20

Ace. Thanks. It wasn't like this back in my day!

Millie2013 · 25/01/2015 20:21

I used to love parsnips, but I went off them (and carrots and other things) when I was pregnant. Sob

Enpoid · 25/01/2015 20:25

It used to be different?

I thought i hated parsnips for years thanks to their habit of masquerading as roast potatoes and giving you a nasty shock, then when I was diagnosed as diabetic I had them once as a (I thought) lower carb alternative to potatoes, and found I really enjoyed them. Before discovering that they're actually super-high carb and I might as well neck bloody glucose Grin

Typical.

SnowyMouse · 25/01/2015 20:30

I'm craving parsnips now Grin I have 10 calories left, decisions, decisions.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 25/01/2015 20:31

Yes, but not massively. It's got more singing and dancing now, and makes you go to a certain calorie limit. I don't know what else though. You had to add lots more exercise I guess

Ivytheterrible · 25/01/2015 20:48

You need a fitbit which counts your steps and monitors sleep patterns every day and syncs with MFP for true obsessiveness. I have logged 1,733 kcals worth of exercise today yeay ??

Millie2013 · 25/01/2015 21:13

I really want a Fitbit
And a packet of crisps

CaulkheadUpNorth · 25/01/2015 21:17

My phone registers my steps and I have an app for my sleep, so I'm not expecting a Fitbit to be something I need
