I think the trouble with acute wards is that there are patients will all kinds of mental health problems and sometimes there can be incidents that are distressing for all concerned. Do hope you begin to feel a bit more settled Enpo - time can go very slowly and it can be boring, but you clearly have not lost your insight or empathy as you are feeling sorry for the man involved in the incident today. Hope the staff (or at least some of them) are supportive and caring.

Enpoid · 28/11/2014 09:04

Staff and patients all lovely - one HCA remembered me from 11 years ago Confused

Just wish I could eat the food. I could've cried when the doctor told me I needed a fasting blood test today because today is breakfast club which has actual breakfast foods I can eat for once. Normal breakfasts are all cereals and toast so I can't eat it.

How are you Mp and Nana?

Mitchy1nge · 28/11/2014 16:01

maybe it will be a bit quieter over the weekend when some people go home on leave etc

how are the activities?

Enpoid · 28/11/2014 18:30

They're okay mostly, I suppose. The weekend looks like it will be dull, though dull might be better :-D

The guy who attacked the other bloke is drugged out of his brains calm now so it's all fairly quiet.

SnowyMouse · 28/11/2014 19:32

I hope you have a peaceful weekend with no drama, Enpo

Enpoid · 28/11/2014 21:02

Thanks Snowy Smile I'm hoping to visit home at some point.

They found my meds! In the fridge. Where I said they would be three days ago. Grin

It's movie night. We're watching Yes Man. What is everyone else up to?

Mitchy1nge · 28/11/2014 21:38

I have commited carbicide ready for half marathon tomorrow, and am reading recipes for chocolatey things to distract myself

Great to see you back enpo.

I didn't get the job which I'm not too disappointed about as current job I can cruise in if not feeling too great so suits me right now.

My gp said I don't have to meet community team if I really don't want to as long as I see her regularly. I will have to see their psych now and again but I guess I can manage that.

Enpoid · 28/11/2014 23:11

Hope the half marathon is fun Mitchy. I don't know much about carb loading - does it help?

Sorry about the job, Ivy Sad But at least you did a good interview. I hope your relationship with your CMHT improves - could you ask for a different person to see you since the last one was so horrible? Though it sounds like you have a supportive GP, which is great.

Mitchy1nge · 29/11/2014 00:14

I dunno, think you are meant to do it over a longer period of time than just the night before, like 1000+ calories just of carbs (plus other foods obvs) each day of the whole taper week really but am not that commited

people can sort of condition themselves to use fat instead of glycogen when running for 2+ hours but it makes them slower and I'm already very slow

Enpoid · 29/11/2014 06:52

Ouch. That's a lot of food.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 29/11/2014 11:43

Hey Enpo, you sound like you're coping with the worst parts of hospital. I'm fine, just been out riding for the morning. Appear to have emerges from the New York trip unscathed.

Enpoid · 29/11/2014 12:01

So glad the trip doesn't seem to have affected you Mp.

TBH my main problem coping here is sleep - 5 hrs night 1, then three hours, down to 2 hours last night. Making it very hard to keep up the effort and the front rather than just stop bothering with talking and moving Grin

What kind of riding? Hacking?

Mitchy1nge · 29/11/2014 13:41

am not riding today, my legs can have a little rest before I go out for some live music with offspring #2

am buzzing Confused

Round of a cross country course, it was gruelling. Hope you get some more sleep tonight.

Enpoid · 29/11/2014 16:49

Thanks. Went round local shops with DP so maybe.

Enpoid · 30/11/2014 08:33

By the power of lorazepam, didn't wake up until 6 Grin

How was the gig Mitch?

Mitchy1nge · 30/11/2014 10:04

yay for lorazepam!

he was awesome, completely neglected to even think about him let alone listen to him since about 2005, 2006

Lovely lorazepam, one of my favourites. Glad to hear you got a decent night's sleep. All quiet for a Sunday here, heading out to the pub for a roast dinner.

Enpoid · 30/11/2014 13:16

Sounds lovely Mental.

Enpoid · 30/11/2014 17:02

Great song choice Mitch Smile

Mentalpsychiatrist · 01/12/2014 20:44

Hey Enpo, how did your day go today?

Enpoid · 01/12/2014 21:13

Not well. How about yours?

Mentalpsychiatrist · 01/12/2014 21:43

Meh, mine was ok, usual routine stuff. Sorry to hear your day wasn't so great.

Enpoid · 01/12/2014 21:59

It's okay, it won't be for long. Discharge meeting on Thursday. Might leave before then.

Meh is the word. Monday innit. Smile
