"Smart" TV. It's devices being too smart and switching each other on and off that's provoking all this kerfuffle Angry DP has a complicated AV setup which I do not mess with. Every so often he teaches me how to use a new function he's programmed on the remote. Other than that, I keep out of it. But he talks through everything he's thinking as though I'm expected to respond, which is very stressful for me for some reason.

I apologise abjectly for indirectly causing you to suffer TMNT. Turtle power!

Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 12:00

is not your fault

teen took Xbox upstairs so had no TV/Netflix whatever at all

at last everyone has fucked off and left me to smoke through 'fat: the fight of my life'

BLISS

Those sorts of programmes make me feel sick with anger and self-loathing and incomprehension. Confused

Still, it beats the Daily Politics.

Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 12:39

they make me cry

losing 5 stone a month or whatever

but mainly am in love with Jessie Pavelka for how hot nice he is, when a normal person would become frustrated and angry at the person's excuses

also underlines

  1. how hard many other people have to work, every day, at this health and wellness shiz

and 2. how much better this is with the support of your family friends peers the professionals etc., all the people it is sometimes tempting to avoid

I suppose so. I can't help finding the type of programme I assume it is exploitative and societally unhelpful. It might not be, I suppose, but it's at least titled like one of those programmes.

Oh good. Now there's a news article on what a massive crisis obesity is, with pictures of headless fatties and burgers and scales and tape measures. It's the lazy stigmatising accusatory imagery as much as anything that pisses me off.

EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 13:20

It's never footage of someone necking mirtazipine or beta blockers, is it?

EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 13:28

I guess it's unfair to comment on specific programmes when I haven't seen them.

Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 13:30

well there is an emotional and social context which they pay some attention to but generally the focus is on the individual's fears and avoidance of painful feelings which I can relate to

but these are people whose disordered eating has potentially lethal consequences and it's hard to imagine footage of people at an equivalent degree of emaciation being presented as entertainment so I see your point

(currently watching 'obese: a year to save my life')

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 13:34

nothing but nothing beats 'supersize v superskinny' and I KNOW that is an awful and bad thing to watch

but I love it

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 13:42

is like using pornography or drugs, or hunting or whatever

you know it's indefensible

but you do it anyway

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 13:51

There wouldn't be a market for fatty programmes if there was no emotional reward for watching them I suppose. Wink

Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 13:56

is not very nice of them to show quite so many shower/struggling to put pants and socks on/powdering their folds type scenes though

or doing half marathons in a probably faster than me time Hmm

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 13:59

is so annoying to have to go out now instead of crying under my furry zebra throw and otherwise indulging myself

life is very very very cruel

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 14:09

could prob afford another quick look at Jessie Pavelka images

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 14:49

Maybe I should start powdering my folds.

EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 15:04

I'm at my friend Mavis's house.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 20/11/2014 16:33

How is Mavis doing?

I'm done for the day, I'm practically incoherent from tiredness despite sleeping on the plane the whole way home.

EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 16:50

Mavis is making a lot of sense at the moment TBH. We seem to be in accord about medication at least Grin We're drawing today.

I hope you catch up on your sleep and feel better soon Mp. Plane sleep is never very good Hmm

EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 18:11

Mavis is trying to teach me a card game called blackjack that isn't blackjack. I appear to have won but I don't know why.

EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 18:42

And now I've lost Confused

EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 18:49

I hate feeling low. I know I'm going to be paying later for keeping up a good front now.

EnpoTree · 20/11/2014 18:49

Hope everything went okay today Ivy.
