What is this bad feeling?

I feel bad, sometimes so bad I am suicidal. Medicines (diazepam/antidepressants/antipsychotics) don't take it away. It is not depression or anxiety. I wonder if some one has experienced the same. Psychiatrist does not understand it.

Does it get worse when you're stressed?

Deadswan1 · 04/05/2014 21:02

Visual hallucinations and some mild delusions. The visual ones were the problem.

Deadswan1 · 04/05/2014 21:04

Yes it gets worse when stressed. Sometimes it is bad even though I am relaxing. Did you find yours got worse with stress?

rabbitrisen · 04/05/2014 21:05

Can I ask, gently, whether you may have taken something in the past that is triggering it?
Or been involved in spiritual things?

Deadswan1 · 04/05/2014 21:07

Nope.

rabbitrisen · 04/05/2014 21:10

Genetics?

Sorry, not meaning to pry. Dont answer if you dont want to.

Deadswan1 · 04/05/2014 21:11

None of I know of.

rabbitrisen · 04/05/2014 21:13

Might a virus trigger it. I hate viruses. They are such lingering things. Even viruses from ages ago.

Deadswan1 · 04/05/2014 21:15

I was once thinking Lyme disease, but I don't have other symptoms.

Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 21:20

Mine is also worse when stressed but similar to you sometimes has been there in the past when not particularly stressed.

I now try and look on it as a kind of tension.

What kind of hallucinations and delusions?

When my PND was at its worst I was convinced I had a brain tumour despite reassurance and had a strange kind of sensory (?) hallucination. However when I revealed this to a psychiatrist he seemed unconcerned and said it wasn't psychosis but anxiety, I think the difference being I had insight. Did you? Perhaps it is psychosis in which case you hopefully the support will be there to help you feel better. Do you have a MH team working with you?

What relaxes you? What kind of life do you live? Mine us quite stressful as have two little ones under two and a long term chronic illness.

Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 21:21

If I was to get away for a bit 'it' subsides in the main though.

Deadswan1 · 04/05/2014 21:28

I told about my hallucinations and doctor thought they were psychotic. I saw sort of short films in the front of me. I knew they were unreal afterwards but not during. I also get feeling that some people are aliens.

I have small children, too. But I had this bad feeling when I was ill before. I was perfectly fine for several years and no bad feelings.

Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 22:00

I would trust in your doctors. Do you feel there is a team around you with an action plan for your treatment?

Psychosis and this feeling could be your reaction to stress and for the time you were well your 'stress cup' as it were wasn't overflowing.

My DHs uncle is schizophrenic and it happened after his DF died. It's recurred recently after a major op and cancer diagnosis so it seems stress is a key factor here and it's perhaps everyone's different way of dealing with too much.

I know how it feels though to haven't insight as after taking an AD once it happened to me and it was very unpleasant.

Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 22:00
  • not have insight
Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 22:02

I would try and be hopeful that it's not always been like this and you had a long stint if feeling well Smile it's possible to feel good again.

How old are your DCs?

Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 22:03

Also I'm loving in a time warp as DD just turned 1 now and DS just turned 3!

rabbitrisen · 04/05/2014 22:30

Were you bitten do you think?

Have you been abroad and maybe picked up something?

Or a medicine that doesnt agree with you?

Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 22:37

Rabbit I'm intrigued at your questions! What do you mean by involved in spiritual things? Or bitten by something? Please don't take this offensively but is that not a little confusing for OP? Can these things impact MH? Do you gave experience of it? Please don't take this offensively.

Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 22:37
  • Do you have
rabbitrisen · 04/05/2014 22:47

By spiritual things, I was meaning say witchcraft. All sorts of things can happen with that.

Howmuch101 · 04/05/2014 22:50

I'm not sure MH is the best forum for discussing that. Perhaps religion and philosophy?

rabbitrisen · 05/05/2014 06:45

I agree.

Deadswan1 · 05/05/2014 06:55

My kids are 3 a and 5. Stressful times. Maybe my cup is indeed full.

Interesting to see that somebody else suffers from odd bad feeling. My psychiatrist did not understand it at all, i assume. At least so he had said before. I got med increase without meeting him this time.

Howmuch101 · 05/05/2014 19:07

How has your day been? X

Deadswan1 · 05/05/2014 19:44

Same old. Constant bad feeling with different intensity all day long. Otherwise fine.
