You will probably get a visit from a social worker. They will ask how you are, ask how the children are, ask what support you have. They may suggest doing an initial assessment to work out if you need more support, and how that can be arranged.

Noone will know who they are, they don't come with a big sign on them saying Social Worker. They will be nice
There job is to help support you and your family,

*Their

They will do everything in their power to help you get better, and help your family to deal with your illness. Their principal remit is to keep families together, and to to support them in becoming healthy and happy.

I know this feels like a bad thing, but it really isn't. They can give so much support and help.

Its got worse now the mom had asked a secretary at the school about the rumour its gonna go round the school now cant believe it

It can be helpful for the school to know a parent has been on hospital, would it help you if your dh/dp got in touch with the school to talk to your child(s) teacher to let them know you are in hospital in case the children are unsettled?

Why not talk to the person doing your discharge about what happens next? It is their job to help you.

Pancakeflipper · 20/11/2013 13:21

Which rumour ? The head teacher rumour? Please stop overthinking about it. Leave it for others to sort out. It's a rumour and a nasty one.

But I would speak to the staff on your ward about how it is making you feel.

Do u think the mental health team will tell the school about the rumour cause i told them buts its obvious tosh

OP posts:
Pancakeflipper · 02/12/2013 09:59

No I don't think they will. The MH team will have heard many things like this and know the emphasis and anxiety you put on it is part of your illness.

Please take care and focus on getting better. I know it's hard to shrug off these types of thoughts but they will diminish.
