Hope this is Post No. 1001 equivalent, having just used up the thousandth space and feel I shouldn't ask Madmouse to organise the next one again.

Have just looked into summerhouse to check fire is burning gently, tray of [brew} organised by upward to turn into one's favourite hot drink of the moment is standing ready for visitors, along with a few pounds of chocolates from huge box sent by DSis. (Before DB eats any more today)

It's usually tianc, upward and hob who remember to be hospitable and also remember to send good wishes to previous visitors, including said madmouse and mouselet, kizzie and family, NanaNina, Butterpie and another name which eludes me just now, but am hoping you'll find your way to this new part of the Cybergarden
and continue visiting in the New Year, along with hob's time-travelling cat Her Felinity and her welcome associate ndt (next-door's-tom), who visit us quite often, bringing gifts of Thanks when they remember, instead of the usual dead rodents which they know are unwelcome in the cybergarden.

Have just had lovely large lunch, plus Skype visit from rest of relatives, so will have a little potter round RL garden, hoping all is well and welcoming now in cybergarden's summerhouse.

Sunshine and spoons here! Incredibly!

Mmm, espresso...

Nilgiri · 23/02/2012 14:49

Haha, I'm so useless! I've been trying out a namechange ^^ for the rest of the boards, so that I can separate areas of my life a bit.

But I'm clearly hopeless and this is at least the second thread I've just it wrong on! Sorry if I startled anyone!

shodatin · 23/02/2012 15:35

Hi Nilgiri- that was indeed a surprise.
What's the word for a collection of kippers, I wonder, as it's what we seem to be turning into. Good news is that I'm now heeding the first warning and heading to bed, rather than trying to fight it off as too inconvenient.
Hope your nasty task has finished well, and that you're enjoying having new name/s - it must take a while to get used to new one/s, so don't worry about it yet.

Warm and windy here, but stayed dry, so not a bad day to visit sea-side, and enjoyed seeing DB again, who has returned home laden down with heavy objects, which shall remain nameless but were almost as much appreciated as all the food and drink I found for him. Am now feeling tired, but a good day here, and hope everyone else had one.

Thanks for the continued Brew hopefully home next week, need some space and time to recover fully (and need people to 'hear' that).

Chocolate and good wishes to all

Good night

shodatin · 24/02/2012 00:22

Lovely news upward - am so pleased for you.
People will listen eventually if you just keep repeating it, so am wishing you strength on this.

Many thanks for chocolate, just the thing. Goodnight and hope you sleep well, love, s.

OP posts:
Nilgiri · 24/02/2012 01:14

What fantastic news, Upward! GrinGrinGrin Blimey, you'll need a good solid recuperation period after all you've had to put up with recently. Hope you get the space to recover in peace and calm.

Mm, did someone say chocolate?

Thank you for pandering to DP's sensitivities about, ahem, heavy objects, shodatin. Glad they are now on their way to their new home - still in the Playboy bag, or is this a new gang?

Collective noun for kippers? Hmm. Shoal doesn't seem quite right. A chimney of kippers?

"Serial Kipper" was meant to be both descriptive, and homage to the glorious moment, many years ago, when a late night Radio 3 reviewer became tongue-tied while discussing American Psycho and its Serial Killer Yuppie. Presenter and guests stoically pretended nothing had happened, but strange high-pitched squeaks kept bursting through their Terribly Serious Discussion.Grin

I'll be my usual N in the cybergarden for a good while now, whichever name I use elsewhere. As you say, it takes time to adjust to a new one - and I clearly didn't manage the anonymity thing!

Am very glad to hear you're now getting to bed in good time, s. It must be very frustrating, but at least you'll get decent rest and not be doubly tired from having keeled over on the sofa.

Hope hob has been getting enough rest too. You're another one due some major recuperation after your recent exertions and related stress.

shodatin · 24/02/2012 10:04

Hope Nilgiri aka Serial Kipper gets some recovery time too, after recent hard work. Love name explanation and wish I'd heard original, remembering the recent Radio 3
breathlessness when I couldn't believe my ears until announcer was almost choking, and gave game away.

Heavy objects now at new home, but Playboy bag was refused, probably as no longer a teenager. I forget ages.

I'd like a room at C16th Retreat too, could probably share with other Ffriend and indulge in our silences, rather than
C16th language, which for me would defeat relaxation.
Makes more espresso and assorted Brew, glad fairies were in overnight, cleaning off animal hairs etc.

Afternoon all Brews Stupendous amount of dormousing caused me to miss joyous, fabulous news from upward < loads trebuchet with biggest fireworks >

Agree with shodatin in wishing you strength in quietly asserting that some peace will help you most

Glad you & DB had a good day yesterday , shodatin & that the nameless heavy objects are grinning at him from their new position

Been sending positive thoughts to you ,Nilgiri , during your grim toil - love the name & the inspiration for it

< joins in with preparing peaceful rooms , including a large cupboard for the chocolate HF is bringing in the time machine >>

love "chimney of of kippers" , Nilgiri * but will of course have to object on grounds of vegetarianism Grin

< never hears anything untoward on Radio Three >

Am happy to agree not to tax our tired brains with ye olde chatteringes

shodatin · 24/02/2012 21:25

A snoring of kippers then? This retreat might turn out to be a bit noisy, but who cares if there's plenty of chocolate, and am sure HF will understand about the generous quantities required. Better have some soy mince or similar too, and I'd really miss tomatoes, potatoes and avocados etc (and my electric blanket...)

Hope you're able to have a countdown now upward, as you must be feeling excited it's almost over.

shodatin · 24/02/2012 23:17

Waving goodnight on way to bed. Brew night.

OP posts:
Nilgiri · 24/02/2012 23:45

Marvellous that you heard a similar R3 whoopsie, shodatin. They're few and far between, hob, but like all the more splendid for that.Wink

Oh dear, snoring of kippers sounds all too likely! It's something I hope Upward hasn't had to put up with while sharing, although I'm sure there are far too many disturbances of all sorts.

A whitewashed cell with reed-matted floor and simple wooden desk is my dream. And a window, of course, opening onto the fields and trees and wide blue sky. Blue sky? Who am I kidding?

Time for some of that snoring here, too. And dormousing tomorrow after a jolly busy week. Glad you've been resting, hob - very much deserved and needed.

Sleep well all, and let

cityhobgoblin · 25/02/2012 10:16

Morning all from a very snorey kipper , and sorry I didn't manage to post all evening .

Agree with your list of modern day foods , ( & that HF will realise the quantities required ) and would add rice , cola Blush , & hope the time machine has a microwave for our sleepier days < HF adds modern cat treats to list >

Busy day today so apologies if yet again I don't pull my weight Sad

Oh joy at our rooms being as Nilgiri describes < sets up calligraphy equipment > and agrees fFriendly silence would be blissful

< Brews from time-travelled coffee beans >
< excited for upward >

shodatin · 25/02/2012 15:05

Good afternoon, cybergardeners, sorry to be so late but am not well and going back to bed very soon. DB just skyped, friend due Monday altho don't need anything, and will rejoin you before long.

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 25/02/2012 19:40

Oh no, shodatin < very light Brew of healing herbs >
Thank you for posting & for reassuring us that friend will drop in . Do hope it isn't a tummy bug [{sad] < healing thoughts >

< HF hops onto end of bed , disregarding the contemplative nature of our little retreat >

Have only just got back in after a day which seemed dutiful but incorporated some fun
Hope our other lovely cybergardeners are having a good day

shodatin · 25/02/2012 21:54

Thanks for mention of healing herbs hob, will think of one/some as have just had warm water & bit of lemon.
Tum is actually rather sore, and could be something to do with hernia, but it's good to feel better. Sending some small, friendly strokes to HF and always appreciate her presence.
Glad you were able to enjoy parts of dutiful day, weather here was really lovely and had planned to be outside.

OP posts:
Nilgiri · 25/02/2012 23:56

Oops, lapsed into contemplative silence mid-sentence last night.Blush

shodatin, so sorry you're not well today, and I hope the lemon and warm water is soothing and you're not in too much pain. It's good to know you'll have a RL visitor Monday, and not be left unattended. I do hope you're feeling rather better by then.

And how right you are about immigrant fruit and veg. I can never quite convince myself that tomatoes are a new arrival in Europe. I mean, what did Italians do before then?! No no, this must be all wrong!

Glad your day had some fun as well as being dutifully busy, hob. Did you also get the fine weather? I bet you're pushing yourself, though, and you still have some rest to catch up on all that housework: please don't overdo things.

Btw, I do hope we all have good sight out of windows for the days we're kept behind glass. And especially that Upward can both see outside and get outside a little.

shodatin · 26/02/2012 00:38

That's an idea Nilgiri, whatever did the Italians do before tomatoes? Just like the rest of us I suppose, and made the best of very limited ingredients, but it's hard to imagine isn't it.
Thanks for reminder of drinking something mild and herbal, having thought since hob first mentioned it, have just used cafetiere and dried sage, as can't face bits.
On subject of views from windows, did anyone notice the view of crescent moon with Venus nearby earlier this evening? I meant to check to see if Jupiter was viewable as part of triangle, as it should be tomorrow, but then forgot. Really hope that upward has been allowed out with friends/family for what could be final week at hospital, as weather's been warmer.
I read recently that someone was postponing change of drugs at it would mean a hospital stay, so it seems that upward's not the only person being kept in for same reason, but it must be very difficult for so long.
Will say goodnight now as will be back in bed soon, and hope we all wake up feeling well in the morning.

OP posts:
shodatin · 26/02/2012 10:41

Morning all, lovely morning here and managed quick shower but still waiting for temperature to normalise, and listening to washing machine, which is not usually going round on Sunday morning but can't leave sicky stuff another day. Sorry, TMI there, mean I'm nearly recovered now and could soon be in reasonable condition for Sunday skype appearances..
On completely different subject, does any gardener have fairly recent info about a fibroid treatment which does not involve complete incision? Just an idea, and will post on General Health later.
Just made lovely espresso, because I feel like one, so guess it's OK. Plenty available, plus tray of upwards
special Brew and remains of hob's wholemeal scones
(hears scuffling at door, like a beagle "knock", and am tempted to open door, but hardly enough left for us).

Remembering my beagle used to use two strokes of paw to be let in, every time, and was amazed when sitting in basket one day, heard next door's beagle make exact same sound while wanting to visit us - co-incidence or copying?

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 26/02/2012 15:22

Oh blimey , fell asleep last eveningwaiting in vain for screen to refresh with news of you hopefully feeling better , sshodatin (then dormoused a double shift )Grin at poor Nilgiri's lapsing into contemplative silence in similar fashion

Delighted to see you're recovering & that lots of us have sunshine -as you say Nilgiri , hope we all have a good view of the pleasant day

Still giggling at thought of the Italians without tomatoes- surely cuisine still nice good & herby , garlicky etc

Ah yes , Dh was excited about that striking moon / Venus combination last night , shodatin

Ooof , sounds as though the ache possibly originating from hernia should be mentoned to GP (they'll probbably say ache in those circunstances is normal , but ought to log it )
This may help slightly to see if any options for fibroids <a class="break-all" href="http://health.yahoo.net/news/s/nm/us_fibroids_optionwww.femisa.org.uk/index.php/lobbying/response-to-nice-uae-interventional-procedure-guidance" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">health.yahoo.net/news/s/nm/us_fibroids_optionwww.femisa.org.uk/index.php/lobbying/response-to-nice-uae-interventional-procedure-guidance
www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Fibroids/Pages/Treatment.aspx

Very pleased with your neghbouring beagle , shodatin - hmmm, copying would be my guess , clever hound

Thank you for polishing orangeriy windows , kind Nilgiri < and for concern not overdo things - hope you can have some frivolity this weekend
Brews all round (thank
you for keeping scones safe , shodatin ...delicate lemony biscuits today , I think , and wholemeal hot cross buns >

cityhobgoblin · 26/02/2012 15:24

Sorry shodatin , Ii messed up 2 of those links - will repost in a minute

cityhobgoblin · 26/02/2012 18:18

Hmm - and then I post the same link twice

shodatin · 26/02/2012 23:23

Just got back to laptop, and thankyou so much hob for giving me links to fibroids. It would have taken me hours to find anything useful, so I do appreciate them, and will hopefully be able to look through this evening.
Hope everyone's having a nice, relaxing evening - too much cloud here for stargazing, so glad I checked yesterday.

OP posts:
Nilgiri · 27/02/2012 00:57

Very glad you're a bit better today, shodatin, and back on the espresso. Hope you were well enough for the Sunday Skype, and that DSis and family are keeping well.

Glad lovely hob managed to dig out those fibroids links, as I know nothing, I'm afraid. I bet you're right that someone over in General Health will know more.

Grin at universal beagle language. Have just consulted with DP, who says he doesn't remember enough of the beagle but poodles just scrabble at the door without really understanding the "knocking" concept. (He also expressed the opinion that dogs are not as bright as cats, but amended it to maybe poodles are just particularly thick...)

I'm sure HF will have an opinion on the above!

Upward hope you've had an OK weekend. Will have fingers crossed for you this week.

Missed the amazing sight of Venus last night, through ignorance alas, as 'twas gloriously clear. Had wonderfully bright stars for two nights - and thought of you all as I stuck my nose out to see them.

Mmm, lemony biscuits and scones... And Brew. Ahhh!

Time for bed. Sleep well all.

shodatin · 27/02/2012 01:11

Thanks again for excellent links. Quick wave goodnight to upward and all dormice.
