Good day here too! We literally have no fun food in the house which is helping. Poor kids! Yes definitely aiming to not go too crazy. Especially with meals. Make sure there is lots of vegetables. Last January was so hard trying to undo all the damage. Can't face that again!

Good luck navigating all the temptations.

hollyblueivy · 17/12/2025 07:50

@Bubbles44 I will get a few nice bits in for over Christmas but currently on the usual food at home. I absolutely will not go crazy with it though, just enough to have something nice each day without non stop grazing. I agree that last year whatever I put on too absolutely aged to get off. I do feel in a good frame of mind at the moment. I just hope that doesn’t disappear for the new year kick start.

My next social is a meal out on Friday with drinks but I am thinking about driving as I can never drink too much when eating out anyway.

11:0:3 - I could (?) see a 10 by Friday?!!

Just weighed in 😊 before my weekend away I am on 10:13.4. Happy with that. Will see what Monday brings 🤣🤣

good luck everyone enjoy what you eat over the Christmas holidays 😊

hollyblueivy · 19/12/2025 08:00

Yes @WorthySlothWhat a great way to enter into your weekend away and the festive period. So you have a plan for food and drinks over Christmas?

I was 11:0:1 yesterday morning. Such a shame I didn’t manage to see a 10 this month as it won’t happen now. I had a buffet work lunch yesterday and just had mash and veg for dinner, but quite a lot of mash as I love it and felt myself slipping into the F it it’s Christmas mode.

Woke up at 11:1:00 - That’s not too bad, I was that on 5th December so a relatively steady maintain through the month so far.

I don’t know if it’s psychological after the food I had yesterday or because I haven’t been to the gym this week as it’s only 1lb, but I fell so bloated! I’ll up the water today and maybe go for a walk or gym over the weekend. Big meal out tonight so I’ll need it!

WorthySloth · 19/12/2025 09:44

Lots of beer yesterday had a maccies breakfast on the way up and a burger and chips in a pub for dinner. Offset by lots of dancing and walking 🤣🤣 wonderstuff were amazing btw.

more of the same today- seeing madness tonight so loads of dancing there.

haven’t given Christmas food much thought tbh I’m working Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Our dinner will be fairly basic as I have many fussy eaters in my house so it’ll be a good roast with pigs in blankets added. Probably no pudding and I can resist the chocolates really.

I do have a brunch out on Monday with a friend before I do the Christmas food shop.

i think working will naturally limit what I eat over the holidays 🤣🤣

hollyblueivy · 20/12/2025 09:59

Morning all last weekend before the big day!

11:1:2 today - I’m happy with that. Enjoyed the food and only had two small drinks so felt very much in control abs did not dampen any enjoyment of the evening.

The sun is shining here down south and we have a lovely blue sky so I’m going to have a nice busy day of shopping, wrapping and hopefully take a nice walk at our local country park, with no hangover!

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend.

Bubbles44 · 20/12/2025 11:24

Well done @hollyblueivy that's great! Sounds like you're in control. Well done only having a couple of drinks.
Lovely day here too. Nice day planned. Markets and Christmas lights so hope to get quite a few steps in! Had a really good week. Ran every morning. Had a slight blip last night. But I did see 9.11 this week. Keep going.
Hope you all have a lovely day.

Smartmove · 20/12/2025 14:31

Fab @Bubbles44 look at you and @hollyblueivy and @WorthySloth toyally focussed but enjoying. So great!
I lost my way a few days. Lots of drinks on wed night followed by lots of hangover carbs on Thursday and a sweet tooth Friday. Not weighed myself but today is semi on plan - worked out lots and steps. Yoghurt and berries for brekkie. Salad for lunch but am out tonight but will only have one drink and skip the pudding. I will weigh tmrw but then am out tmrw all day!
Monday and Tuesday are my last days before Xmas full on starts so I plan to be super good then - I would love to enter Xmas eve at 9.12. But suspect this may not occur!

WorthySloth · 20/12/2025 14:56

Lots of steps lots of beer and sensible amount of food. Happy with that. Just had a lasagna with garlic bread and extra chips. Lovely 😁

Bubbles44 · 20/12/2025 20:48

Bad day! Determined not to free fall just yet! Will do a long run in the morning and fast until 4. Monday and Tuesday I am still in work so hope I can pull it back. Want to feel nice on Christmas Day and not all full and bloated.

Hope you can get back into the swing of things @Smartmove really feels so hard with chocolate every where and lots of socials.

hollyblueivy · 21/12/2025 19:14

Saw this and thought of you @WorthySloth Have a great time!

hollyblueivy · 21/12/2025 19:16

I am slipping into Christmas mode! Alcohol three days in a row. Street food and cake at Xmas market. Coupled with meal out and some treats baked at home I am on a slippery slope!

I will try Monday and Tuesday to eat normally then enjoy the few days over Christmas.

hollyblueivy · 22/12/2025 07:55

11:2:3 - 2.3lb on since Thursday. About right and possibly a surprise it isn’t more.

Plan is to have a good couple of days today and tomorrow. I won’t go mad on Christmas Eve but we are having buffet dinner so will be good all day until then.

WorthySloth · 22/12/2025 08:05

Got up early today to take my girls into work. Thought about weighing in then decided not to bother 🤣🤣I’ve got a cold and sore throat which will probably put me off eating anyway as I can’t really taste anything. Fantastic 😭😭

hollyblueivy · 23/12/2025 08:49

Ah there is so much going around at the moment. I have managed to avoid so far but feel like it’s only a matter of time. I need to stop myself from weighing over the Christmas period as I figure if it’s lighter than I expect it will make me think I can have more and if it’s heavier than I expect it won’t stop me eating more but will make me feel rubbish!

11:1:4 today - will try not to weigh tomorrow!

Bubbles44 · 23/12/2025 09:36

Hello, going ok at the moment. Still in 9's and jeans feel loose! Hopefully have another good day today and try tomorrow. Just want to wake up Christmas Day feeling good. Will then indulge a bit more Christmas Day and Boxing Day and then try and have some routine.
Good luck girls, hope your cold is short lived @WorthySloth
Well done for weighing @hollyblueivy I know what you mean about the self sabotage!
How's it going @Smartmove?

loveyouradvice · 23/12/2025 12:17

Might I join you for the festive period?

Waking up on Christmas Day feeling good @Bubbles44 sounds great... I am going to aim for the same!!

I've lost a shedload of weight - 2.5 stone in last year, and 5 stone cumulatively

Last Christmas was the first year I ate "well" throughout and only put on 3-4lbs. It was SO gorgeous feeling good and not falling into the carb grunge I normally do.

I'm aiming to enjoy Christmas Eve meal (but not too much) and then two indulgent family days, before going back to "normal" eating.

My big question - will I still weigh under 11 stone on Christmas morning??

Smartmove · 24/12/2025 07:26

Well done @Bubbles44 good work!!!

i lost my way! Too much socials drinking etc. I have kept gymming though they have been short and not heart felt! I’m up to 10 today waaaaaa. But actually weirdly have an on plan day today travelling to family and don’t arrive till late so hopefully I’ll be 9.13 tmrw but won’t have any scales!!!!!

I’ll be back on Sunday and will weigh Monday and fully except to be over ten!

Not going to go wild but will enjoy Xmas and Boxing Day dinners and try not to pick at crap which is def my downfall this time of year! Our host is pregnant so hoping the drinking may be a bit curtailed too!

Hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas! I have definitely eaten too much and been eating chocolates for the sake of it!

Trying to gain control today. Long run and will fast until later on. Want to feel nice again and not bloated. 6 pounds up today!!!!

Hello @loveyouradvice hope you had a nice Christmas did you stick your plan better than me?

Any one else brave the scales? I'm still off work this week. Which is lovely but so hard food wise. Keep busy and keep moving!

loveyouradvice · 29/12/2025 12:21

Christmas has been gorgeous thanks @Bubbles44 .

And yes, somehow my plan has worked so far... somehow I am back to pre christmas weight today. Somewhat surprised - I've been eating in longer windows and yes, I ate an obscene amount of crispy duck skin on Christmas day but have held back on the normal-me masses of chocolate and too much booze. What's really working for me, curiously, is having my usual large breakfasts and feeling full and satisfied for the day, alongside lots of "free foods" around in beautiful bowls ... yes, I adore kumquats and physalis, and olives and baby tomatoes! And I don't seem to have a yearning for chocolate at the moment - Im just eating 3 squares of my 90pc with different nuts through the day. This may change any moment ... and there are delicious chocolates awaiting.

So three more sociable evenings to come...

Hi @Bubbles44 glad u had a wonderful Xmas!
i did brave scales was needed to stop the eating! I was up 5 pounds so firmly over ten stone. Better than my usual 7!
had a good day today - 1200 cals and early fast. Tmrw will be same. I often try do lower but been hungry given large amounts I’ve eaten!!!!!

I am out on new years but will be on it all day and plan to workout and try keep low carbs and cals till the fizz and food! Then I’m back on Thursday again!

aim to get this weight off in 2 weeks I’m sure a lot is water weight and food volume!
