Whoops, posted too soon.

Hope the planned lower cals works for you Harriet. B2b is usually what I favour too.

Well done to everyone who fasted today!

KobaniDaughters · 05/03/2021 00:49

Agree with everyone @harriethoyle I went over on Monday so decided to just do 2 lower calorie days back to back so it didn’t feel properly written off and like you may as well have eaten TDEE!

I made a huge batch of celery soup for my lunch - enough for 4 bowls so I had two at lunch time and another as a mid afternoon snack which has really helped today and will see me through until dinner. If all goes to plan I shall be closing the kitchen at 530

Humphriescushion · 05/03/2021 06:05

Morning all, just did my friday weigh and going back to basics has helped, lost just over a kilo which is actually the most i have lost in week so far, so thank you for support and help.
I am finding this much easier than when I did it the past thanks to this thread.
Good luck any fasters and weighers today!

Benjispruce2 · 05/03/2021 07:11

Well done @Humphriescushion. I’m hoping a big glass of water and some oats will do the trick this morning. Not going near scales yet.

ListeningQuietly · 05/03/2021 09:23

Well one Rara
And if you are at work, watch how often your colleagues wash their hands before touching shared food - as Bigchoc used to say
beware Poo crumbs Grin

Humphries
WELL DONE
Its nice when self control feels good and gives good results.

That's good advice ListeningQuietly. Our staffroom is now in the hall, so not even a sink. Think I'd better steer clear of any shared treats in the future!

I'm thinking of cutting down on carbs, so just the meal, no rice or chips - would that help?

Lilice · 05/03/2021 10:05

Well done @RaraRachael and @Humphriescushion that's great weight loss for a week!

Who's fasting with me today? Oh man, I really need it after eating nothing but sushis and chocolate cake for a couple of days. Of course I woke up hungry, like every fast day. Im having aubergines for dinner, probably with a boiled egg. I'll see if I cant skip lunch.
Just a couple of days and the kids are back at school yay 🥂🍾🥳

Lilice · 05/03/2021 10:07

Hahaha @ListeningQuietly I love your advice! Poo crumbs 🤭🤣

ListeningQuietly · 05/03/2021 10:41

Rara
Skipping the carbs in a meal and just having the protein and veg is one of the skinny people secrets
eg
we had Chinese last night and I had lots of meat and stir fried veg but only one spoon of rice
and I felt fine afterwards and this morning

re Poo Crumbs

I once watched a colleague come in from the car park having picked his car keys out of a puddle,
go to the loo,
come back out clearly without having washed his hands
and then stick his fingers into the plate of biscuits.

It helped my weight loss plan A LOT Grin

Morning everyone!
Fast day done Tuesday and yesterday, not broken it yet today.
After a few weeks of stalling my scales finally said 13 stone 0 on them twice this week. Looking forward to it being 12 stone something! My partner has said he can see a difference too, though I haven't seen any difference in the way my clothes are fitting so far- normally, this kind of loss would leave my trousers a bit too big, but no joy so far. Keep plodding and trying!

I'm very chuffed with my willpower at the minute though- I'm on day 16 with no sugar 🥳

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 05/03/2021 11:26

Was too tired to post last night but FD2 for the week done and dusted.

Sending positive vibes to anyone fasting today Smile

20FlowerPower · 05/03/2021 13:18

Friday Weigh Day for me and I'm down 4.5lb this week (9st 13.5lb) which sounds like a lots but most of it will be water weight etc given this is my first week starting back.

Hoping for a Mini over the weekend.

KobaniDaughters · 05/03/2021 14:46

Wel done on the willpower @KnobJockey I’ll give you and myself a Pat on the back - I feel like it’s been years since my willlpower lasted longer than 5 days since it came to eating healthily and fasting - today marks 2 months without alcohol and 3 weeks back on the 5:2 train, WI and I’m 0.5lb off my happy weight and back in my skinny shorts. My aim was to be at this point and having maintained it for 2-3 weeks before DH’s 40th (on 27th) so I’m on track for that. Can’t believe how easy it has been and I know I didn’t have much to lose in the first place (7-10lbs) but must keep the motivation up and now figure out how best to maintain without reverting back to old habits and it creeping back up again.

Benjispruce2 · 05/03/2021 16:00

Well done @20FlowerPower and @KobaniDaughters it’s a fabulous feeling.Star

Benjispruce2 · 05/03/2021 16:01

Ps (tmi) The oats did their job.Wink

Benjispruce2 · 05/03/2021 18:58

@harriethoyle you were right, wine is my enjoy in life, especially at the moment. Worked hard all week and a few glasses is my wind down. I might not partake on Sunday though. Happy Friday everyone and it’s good to have your support x

Benjispruce2 · 05/03/2021 18:59

Glad that oats helped - constipation is common when people change their diet so its useful to know tricks to make it mellow.

Maintained again. Feeling a bit fed up. No real loss for the last 10 days. Will keep plodding on.

Benjispruce2 · 06/03/2021 08:23

Anyone got any motivating experience of getting over this hump? Feels like I’m depriving myself for nothing when the scales don’t budge.

Lilice · 06/03/2021 08:41

Have you got much more weight to lose @Benjispruce2 ? You may have hit a plateau. I found some info here lifehacker.com/why-hitting-a-weight-lose-plateau-is-actually-a-good-th-1709296851

Lilice · 06/03/2021 08:43

It's also happened to me in the past. I think it's a normal thing to happen. The article says it means that you're doing well and making progress, it's all positive. There's advice about how to get over it. Do you usually diet b2b?

Benjispruce2 · 06/03/2021 09:03

Thanks for that, will read up. I started on 10st 2 and want to get to 9st 5. I’m 9st 9.5 so not far to go. I’ve no problems with slow but nothing is bad for my impatient soulGrin. I lost 4, then 2 then 0.5/1 and now nothing for ages, well it feels like ages considering I’m doing 2 strict FDs Mon and Thurs. Tues and Wed I am under happy TDEE and Fri, Sat and Sun I eat (and drink) up to happy TDEE.

Benjispruce2 · 06/03/2021 09:06

I know I can get there. I did 5:2 about 6 years ago and got to 8st 13 but can’t remember the route it took. My BMI is 22.5 down from 23.6 .
