Oh no @Benjispruce2... eat some prunes!

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 04/03/2021 10:10

@harriethoyle I'm fasting with you today 😊

I have a miso broth with tofu/broccoli/pak choi for lunch (think ramen without the noodles!). Not sure about dinner yet though

We can do this!

ginsparkles · 04/03/2021 10:13

@Benjispruce2 I have the same thing! No solutions to offer but plenty of sympathy! The only thing that does make a difference for me is bread. It's my nemesis !! I avoid bread almost all the time.

harriethoyle · 04/03/2021 10:18

@PartTimeDomesticGoddess I am freaking STARVING today Confused

20FlowerPower · 04/03/2021 10:49

Joining the other Thursday Fasters today. So far - tea Brew I have a work call at 6.30pm tonight (boo.....but at least it gets me out of bedtime!) so I'm going to have most of my calories at lunchtime today. Contemplating a baked potato after reading the chat on here!

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 04/03/2021 11:03

@harriethoyle can you use distraction to deal with it? That often works for me. The other thing that works for me is a really small amount of calories (a cup of miso soup, 4 or 5 cashews, hard boiled egg if you eat them). Everyone's different though - some people are better not eating anything all day but that doesn't seem to work well for me.

MazDazzle · 04/03/2021 11:19

Good luck to Harriet, DomesticGoddess, FlowerPower and anyoneelse fasting today!

Second FD of the week for me. I have a chorizo and veg stew in the freezer, so that’s my FD dinner sorted. Just finished my online PT session, so I’m feeling really positive and (drum roll...) I’m on Day 5 of no alcohol and no fizzy drinks. A miracle!

Benjispruce2 · 04/03/2021 12:03

I think it’s worse because I leave for work at 8 and definitely can’t go here at work!
Anyway, king prawns beckon, yum! Feels like a treat on a FD.

harriethoyle · 04/03/2021 12:45

I had a tuna sandwich for lunch - 330 cals - and with fishcake and veg for tea will come in at about 650 today. It's not ideal but a banana for lunch would NOT have worked for me today. No idea why it's a hungry day... vexing! This is why I like b2b because if one of your days is hungry, you've got up to 800 cals...

TipperarygirlinLondon · 04/03/2021 12:56

Fast Day here too. Had some dhal just now. No brekkie. Probably more dhal for dinner!!!

KylieKoKo · 04/03/2021 14:25

I am fasting today. I am currently eating a spiralized courgette with lemon juice and salt and pepper for lunch which is surprisingly delicious.

I am testing out a ramen kit that I found which only has 330 calories for dinner and I also have a boiled egg and a slice of ham to eat in the evening if I fancy it.

KobaniDaughters · 04/03/2021 14:37

FD here too though am 8 hours behind so I only just got up. Planning courgette and celery soup for lunch then I have a random Mexican cauliflower rice mix in the freezer I’ll try with some lentils for dinner. Also I have a meeting later so have allotted calories for a decent latte as a treat

20FlowerPower · 04/03/2021 15:22

Late Lunch of baked potato, baked beans, cheese, and a large sprinkling of chilli flakes came in at about 470 calories. I'll likely have an Options Hot Chocolate for "dinner" once the kids are in bed and my call is finished to keep me going.

Lots of us fasting today - nice to be among company! That's the great thing about these threads - I've realised that doing it on my own without you all is so much harder.

My body is definitely adapting / protesting to this chance in eating and exercise though - despite being on the pill I've had a breakthrough bleed today that I was not expecting. I normally run 2-4 packs together so I go longer without a period, but this bleed has appeared towards the end of my third pack this time. Hmm. It will, at least, help me feel less bloated I suppose. And I always feel less hungry during my actual period anyway - the days in the run up to it are normally another story though!!!

Benjispruce2 · 04/03/2021 15:53

@20FlowerPower spud sounds yum and filling. I fancy an omelette but think that might compound my ‘issues’ so a smallish spud with beans might sort me out!

ListeningQuietly · 04/03/2021 16:28

BenjiIts probably worth checking that you are getting enough roughage on NFDs to keep your digestion stable
and keep the fluids up on FSs
possibly things like herbal tea or miso soup to keep you feeling warmer but not adding calories

MazDazzle · 04/03/2021 16:59

FlowerPower your baked potato sounds delicious!

Feeling a bit flat. Prob just the afternoon slump. Had a quick scroll through the thread and a black coffee to keep me going.

Hang in there fasters, we’re nearly there. Grin

Benjispruce2 · 04/03/2021 17:06

Thanks op. Will do. Well suddenly v hungry so early dinner and omelette won. Feta and onion with pea omelette plus some steamed broccoli.Got about 100 cals left.

ginsparkles · 04/03/2021 18:15

Well done to all today's fasters!! Keep going you can do it!!

harriethoyle · 04/03/2021 19:01

I have FLUNKED. Coming in at 840. I had the most dreadful night's sleep and I've been exhausted and starving all bloody day.

But we've agreed damage limitation tomorrow - skip breakfast so it's an intermittent fast day and substitute something lighter for planned posh burgers. Then start again next week with my usual b2b!

ListeningQuietly · 04/03/2021 19:13

Harriet
Therefore by definition you have NOT flunked
you have just spread your calorie restriction wider across the week Grin

Work call finished and I'm settling down with my options hot choc which, with a splodge of milk, will bring my total to 545cals today. Happy with that, although I'm only on 8700 steps and no opportunity now to go for a walk.

And I echo the advice from listening - there is no such thing as failure on this lifestyle harriet, just a readjustment of what happens on what days. Your plan for tomorrow sounds perfect. From experience having 3 Mini FDs per week of less than 1000 cals still brings good results.

harriethoyle · 04/03/2021 21:08

Thanks both! Back on it properly next week Grin

RaraRachael · 04/03/2021 21:51

I fasted today. Finding it a lot easier now that I'm back at work as there are not temptations. Somebody had left a box of chocolates in the staffroom - only 2 left and my colleague said, "One for you and one for me" but I resisted.

Chocolate is my downfall.

Benjispruce2 · 04/03/2021 22:56

Under 500. Added an apple and a rice cake with hummus after my omelette. Hope things move in more ways that one tomorrow!
Well done @RaraRachael.

MazDazzle · 04/03/2021 23:58

Excellent will power Rara!

Sounds like you’ve done well considering the lack of sleep. Good luck tomorrow.
