To chip in on the hot cross bun chat, DH introduced me to the idea of cream cheese on a toasted hot cross bun. It's good 😋

Happy birthday @harriethoyle 🥳

First FD of the week for me, going ok. Will check back in after dinner...

Cherrysherbet · 02/03/2021 22:30

May I join in? ......I lost 3stone with 5:2 a few years ago. I then started a new job, and it became difficult, because of starting early on my shifts. My weight has now crept up, and I am ready to do this again. I need to lose 2 stone. I eased myself in last week with one successful fast, and the other days sticking to my tdee, and I was pleasantly surprised to see I’d lost 4lbs. I enjoyed eating this way before, and I KNOW it works! Second fast day tomorrow (so no hot cross buns for me 😁)

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 02/03/2021 22:38

Kitchen closed on about 480. Egyptian black bean soup for lunch, 10g of cashews late afternoon and a South Indian curry with tonatoes/spinach/tofu and broccoli for dinner

MazDazzle · 02/03/2021 23:30

Hi Cherry!

Well done for getting back into the swing of things. I won’t offer you any well meaning advice as I’m in the same boat as you!

Please with how my NFD went today. 2 meals and no snacks or alcohol.

Your curry sounds lovely PartTime!

KobaniDaughters · 03/03/2021 02:28

2nd low cal day came in just shy of 800cal. I feel ok about that. Will stick to TDEE tomorrow and Friday (or maybe another 800 day) and proper FD on Thursday. I just can’t be bothered or get organised to count properly on the weekends and as I’m not drinking calories at the moment I think it’s ok to just be mindful then stricter in the week. I wouldn’t normally do 2-3 just low cal days but it’s in lieu of an extra FD

ginsparkles · 03/03/2021 07:00

Well done @KobaniDaughters and @PartTimeDomesticGoddess !

Better than expected, I managed to maintain. I'll take that given last weeks excesses and two not quite so good fasts!

Welcome @Cherrysherbet

Sitting with a mug of tea waiting for a delivery of furniture to arrive. Very happy on my day off to have been given the 7-10 delivery slot Grin

harriethoyle · 03/03/2021 07:36

Happy birthday @Lilice

I've got a bit of a hangover... Blush

Benjispruce2 · 03/03/2021 08:28

Joyeux anniversaire @Lilice! Cake

Benjispruce2 · 03/03/2021 08:41

Static for 8 days now. Hoping tomorrow’s FD drops me down a bit. Definitely getting more than a 3,500 cal deficit over the week but wondering if I should kick my wine on Fri, Sat and Sun to reach my happy place or carry on as that’s what I enjoy and it’s only 2 glasses to half a bottle at most each time. What do you think oh wise ones?

ginsparkles · 03/03/2021 08:48

Happy birthday @Lilice !!

Glad you had a good birthday @harriethoyle !!

harriethoyle · 03/03/2021 09:00

Don't give up wine @Benjispruce2!

In all seriousness, I think this has to be a sustainable wol. Is giving up wine sustainable? Is it worth the work life balance? Wouldn't be for me. I'd rather lose slower and keep the wine going...

20FlowerPower · 03/03/2021 09:20

Happy Birthday lilice - hope you have some treats planned for today.

And hello to cherry - I've only just joined back in this week as well, having last been on these threads a few years again after DD was born. It's amazing how, once you get back into it, you feel so much better and in control.

NFD for me today - just finishing a crumpet.

Benjispruce2 · 03/03/2021 09:33

I’m inclined to agree with you @harriethoyle. I’m impatient at the best of times. I do count the wine cals.My cals for the week (tracked):
M-FD 500
T-NFD 1200
W-NFD 1200
T-FD 500
F-NFD 1500
S-NFD 1500
S-1500

Benjispruce2 · 03/03/2021 09:34

Should say my current weight lightly active TDEE is 1703, my happy sedentary TDEE is 1467.

TipperarygirlinLondon · 03/03/2021 09:43

Feeling a bit deflated today...after 4 really good weeks and 7lbs lost..so pleased with that...no change this week. Thought I was doing ok but not so. Back in the saddle today but feeling a bit flat. Sorry for moan!!

Lilice · 03/03/2021 10:03

Thank you ladies ☺ and @harriethoyle happy birthday for yesterday 🥳
I'm currently of my cross trainer with my brand new trainers, they're soooo comfortable. Then I'll shower and head to sainsbury to get my sushis yeeeeee!

@TipperarygirlinLondon 7lbs in 4 weeks in great loss, keep it going you can do it!

@Benjispruce2 maybe wine once or twice a week, or every other week? I'm going to get my teeth bleached (that's my present to myself) and will give up red wine 😭😭😭

Good luck to all the fasters today 👊💪

Benjispruce2 · 03/03/2021 12:05

@TipperarygirlinLondon snap! I’ve lost 7 in 3 weeks. It’s inevitable that the loss slows. I think maybe @Lilice you’re right and maybe if I drop to 2 days of wine it will help.

Cherrysherbet · 03/03/2021 14:33

Thank you for the welcomes 😊. Feeling motivated on this fast day.....although looking forward to dinner time! Quorn curry, small amount of rice and veg.

Hope all fasters are doing ok today?

ListeningQuietly · 03/03/2021 16:46

Welcome @Cherrysherbet
This is definitely one of the friendliest corners of MN.

Hang on in there @TipperarygirlinLondon
Some of the fast early weight loss is basically fluid and undigested food.
It then slows down as you actually start using up fat reserves.
Remember than an average 1lb a week is 4 stone in a year Grin

TipperarygirlinLondon · 03/03/2021 17:10

Ah thank you all for the encouragement WinkThis is the lightest I have been since 2018 and I'm sooo determined to reach my goal weight. Back on it today watching the snacks and fast day tomorrow.

Benjispruce2 · 03/03/2021 21:18

FD tomorrow and I’ve planned virtually a whole packet of king prawns for lunch with some iceberg lettuce (100 cals) and jacket potato for dinner. Surprisingly not too high in cals.

Lilice · 03/03/2021 23:56

Wow @Benjispruce2 that's good to know, thank you.

I was going to fast tomorrow but I accidentally ordered more sushis ( I arrived too late today and most were already gone). So my next FD will be Friday.

Benjispruce2 · 04/03/2021 07:25

Obviously check the potato size!
Struggling with sluggish digestion again. This is the only thing I dislike about 5:2. I never have a problem with ‘going’ when not doing 5:2. Feel like I’m carrying around 3 days of food, well, I am! Drinking loads of water too. My bowels are not happy. Dare not get on the scales as my stomach is bloated.FD today so nothing to get it moving.Sad

harriethoyle · 04/03/2021 09:39

Anyone fasting with me today? Banana for lunch and probably fish for tea...
