Went 5km walk this morning to clean my head (and work off the hot cross bun).

@RaraRachael, it does work, but for me I have to track non fast days and fast days. Look at your fast days too, you can do them without starving. @ListeningQuietly 's advice is (as ever) really good. Trust the process.

Mmmmm. Hot cross buns. Where do you stand on anything but the traditional flavour? I confess, I am a staunch upholder of original only... have already told DH we're having lashings of them over easter weekend!

I don't track what I eat. I was told I needed to eat 500 calories on my fast day and the rest of the week I could eat what I want.
I eat sensibly and go for walks on the 3 days I don't work.

Try tracking and see if it keeps you on a more even keel. It's surprising how much NFD snacks and meals can add up to!

The key thing about any diet or way of eating is getting to the right amount of food to keep you at happy weight for ever.

People who are overweight are - by definition - eating more than their happy weight body needs.
So part of the process is to rediscover the right amount of food for your body.

And lose weight to get towards it at the same time.

5:2 is a neat way to calorie restrict
because its only strict 2 days a week and more relaxed 5 days a week
BUT
you will only lose weight if you create the weekly deficit.
that's physics, chemistry and biology

In your case I would suggest tracking, but not changing your diet for a couple of weeks.
Find out WHAT you are eating that has made you heavy enough to want to lose weight
and decide what are the best bits to change to reach your goal.

If I was teetotal I'd be a slim size 8
But I'm not WinkGrin

@ListeningQuietly haha I think the reason I’m managing to have success this time round is I haven’t had alcohol in 2 months! I don’t miss it yet though so will keep going until I actually really want a drink

Thanks - I don't even have booze to use as an excuse. I was always around 9 and a half stone which was my supposed ideal weight for my height. Now it has crept up and up to nearly 11 stone, although my clothes still fit me comfortably.

@RaraRachael I agree with others, weigh your portions on NFDs, it’s an eye opener! I’ve cut my servings of pasta and rice by about a third and replaced with veg. It’s retrained me. DH is v tall and active and I have to accept that I can’t eat as much as him when I’m a foot smaller and much less active. It’s science innit.Wink

On a Friday night we all have home made pizza.
DH has 5 of the 8 slices, I have 3.
If we are dishing out a meal, I always have the smallest portion.
And my stomach is shrinking again.
Last night we had beef stew and dumplings.
DS had 5 dumplings, DH had 4, DD had 3, I had less than 2
and we were all stuffed.

So I had DELICIOUS FOOD DH is an amazing cook just much less of it than I used to.

I am currently wearing a pair of old size 8 jeans.
I bought an identical pair new a month ago and cannot do them up.
I've clearly stretched every stitch.
My test jeans are a 25 year old pair that have no elastane in.
NO WAY can I do them up at the moment !!!

Yes I'm definitely not looking at a day by day drop, just an average over whatever time period - so uding the daily rate to set a 5% target &aiming for around 0.7kg weekly ☺

Morning Monday fasters. I’m up a 1lb after the weekend. Been logging though so hoping just a fluctuation. Makes me more determined though to nail 500 today. Since 7/2 I’ve lost 6/7lbs! I’m so happy because I’m not ‘overweight’ but I’ve gone from bmi 23.6 to 22.6. Only 3-4lbs to go! Hang in there, we can do this!Smile

Cross with myself today. Scales are definitely indicating there will be a gain this week. I was soooo good, and then it all went to pot at the weekend. Roll on the 12th April, shop opens and 4:3 can start again, that will shift this blasted last stone!!!!

Fasting today. I have some chicken breast to eat after work finishes and a chunky veg soup for dinner.

I've been shocking recently - have not been able to manage fasting consistently and have binged many times.

Not beating myself up as literally no point - but have considered it a hiatus rather than the end.

I need tips today please for a back to back fast of 800 calories over today and tomorrow.

Planned food today is grilled chicken breast and steamfresh vegetables for dinner. Any ideas on calories and tips for eating tomorrow ?

@ginsparkles step away from the scale, you are still doing brilliant.
I'm not sure I'll weigh myself this week, as I know how my weight fluctuates so for me it's better check once a month. That way I only see progress. It's my birthday on Wednesday, im planning to indulge of loads and loads of sushis, I just love sushis so much. And my hubby will be making a chocolate cake, yummy. He got me new trainers for my birthday, for my cardio , which is exactly what I wanted. He had to tell me because he saw I was going to buy myself a pair otherwise haha.
I'm fasting today and already hungry. Luckily the hunger goes away when I exercise. I havent planned what I'm eating today, im thinking maybe brocoli purée 🤷‍♀️

Me too I've had to change my FDs this week. I usually do a Monday and Wednesday, so ill be doing Thursday instead
