Well, I really want a delicious, properly indulgent Caesar salad. Kids are after dominos but honestly... it's MY bloody birthday! Am tempted to put my foot down. They can choose on their days...

flindorama · 01/03/2021 10:57

So first week complete and I am down 8lbs. Delighted and I'm not surprised, as even on NFDs I was eating far less than normal. I've been tracking all days. Still have a way to go but very happy and feeling motivated for once in my life. I've been doing hypnosis too which I think is helping me to make better choices in general.

I'm doing FDs today and Wednesday this week.

ginsparkles · 01/03/2021 11:35

Yay! Well done @flindorama great loss!!

KylieKoKo · 01/03/2021 11:42

I've been quite bad with wine and carbs this week but I'm fasting today and have planned healthy meals for non-fast days.

I'm attempting to make courgette noodles this evening to have with chilli, garlic, prawns and tomatoes (cooked in olive oil spray.)

ListeningQuietly · 01/03/2021 12:07

flindorama
That is astounding.
And if you are finding eating much less pretty comfortable, stick with it.

I do not own any scales but when the gym re opens, I weigh myself on a Friday morning once a week
as that shows how much leeway I have for the weekend Grin

500 calories for me today. Not sure what yet, still on the tea for now.

Hi everyone....I joined these threads a few years ago (under different name) and successfully lost 4 stone of baby (and the rest) weight thanks to the help and guidance of BCF (hoping she's ok).

Maintained for a good couple of years then....the last 12 months happened. I've tried to restart with FDs and 16:8 a couple of times over the last few months, but after a few weeks of doing and feeling better there's been another round of bad news / emotional eating which has set me back again. My DD is also a terrible sleeper which does not help matters!

My starting weight is 10st 4lbs which, for my height, is only 1lb away from moving out of "healthy" and into "overweight" territory. So, I have at least a stone to lose - but ideally 1.5 stone to get me into happy weight territory (I felt good at 8st 10-12lbs last time round) - but one step at a time. My first FD was on Friday and I'll be attempting another one tomorrow. Also trying to up my activity levels. I'm in Scotland so my kids are now back at school and the days are getting lighter again - so no real excuses.... crazy news / pandemic aside that is!!!

Hope you're all doing well and look forward to tracking/chatting progress. Good luck to all the Monday Fasters.

KobaniDaughters · 01/03/2021 14:42

Welcome @20FlowerPower there are a few of us who are recent additions to the thread returning to 5:2

Great start @flindorama

FD here, black bean and quinoa salad for lunch, stuffed tofu and bok choi planned for dinner

ListeningQuietly · 01/03/2021 15:02

Welcome to the gang FlowerPower
These lockdown months have been really tough physically and mentally.
But we will get there.
BigChoc is enjoying her retirement by the Rhine and waiting for the gyms to open!

The main thing over the coming months is to get your head into the right place to do some gentle fasting and build back up to 5:2

Well done @flindorama!
Thanks @harriethoyle I hope so. I’ve been freezing today in class with the window open. I think that after the lovely sunny, mild weekend, it was a bit of a shock. Espresso for breakfast plus loads of water throughout the day. I had a small banana at 12. I’m not really a banana eater but find that satisfying on a FD. Going to eat earlier tonight as I’m tired and want a bath and early night. I’ve got leftover chicken with cous cous and salad and with a drizzle of tzatziki. Kitchen will close on 460 as I’m on herbal tea after that. Hope other fasters are going well.

ginsparkles · 01/03/2021 16:48

Welcome @20FlowerPower !

I'm struggling today. Feeling very sad. Seems to have hit me like a ton of bricks. I so want to eat something. Trying really hard to hold out.

ListeningQuietly · 01/03/2021 16:55

((((((( Gin ))))))
Strong cheese is your friend - you cannot eat much.
And the fats will make you feel better.
A sliver or two of stilton and the world feels better Smile

ginsparkles · 01/03/2021 16:57

Thanks @ListeningQuietly I don't like Stilton sadly. Had a digestive. I need to pull myself together. I don't know why I feel so sad today

Benjispruce2 · 01/03/2021 17:13

Flowers @ginsparkles

Oooh Stilton. I lurrve cheese. Last year on my birthday my DH got me a while Camembert and stuck my birthday candles into it. Perfect. I’m with you @harriethoyle, your day, your choice. I don’t like cake much so why would I want it in my birthday?

Benjispruce2 · 01/03/2021 17:13

*whole

harriethoyle · 01/03/2021 17:21

@ginsparkles Wine you've just got to take it a day at a time

ginsparkles · 01/03/2021 17:24

Benjispruce2 · 01/03/2021 18:11

ginsparkles · 01/03/2021 18:30

I made it. Kitchen closed 647 (ish) had a lump of cheese and didn't weight it. (I blame you lot Grin)

Second FD tomorrow. Chicken salad for lunch and stuffed mushrooms for tea.

harriethoyle · 01/03/2021 19:05

It was from the Stamford Cheese Cellar and is AMAZING Smile

Kitchen closed here on 539. My lovely MIL dropped in hot cross buns, shiraz and card so that's my birthday breakfast sorted!!

KylieKoKo · 01/03/2021 19:07

I've been incredibly busy with work then a hiit class today and I've only had ham and a miso soup so far. I'm making my evening meal now. It's weird how some days I don't feel hunger too much yet on others I think about eating from the moment I wake up til I go to sleep.

ListeningQuietly · 01/03/2021 19:25

Gin
Cheese is good for the soul.

I just had a cheese and onion omelette for supper.
