Hello all, done my second week and lost about 5lb in total and am delighted. First week i stayed mostly to my tdee on non fast days but had a " day off" on saturday ( but i still counted so i knew how many calories this was - around 2000). This week i have gone over on two days so will see how this pans out! Going to fast tomorrow and not dreading it like i used to. Thanks for all the help and good luck everyone.

ListeningQuietly · 07/02/2021 12:39

Benji
I can heartily suggest logging everything on MFP
its a bit of a faff weighing and checking
but it often highlights very rapidly where the extra calories are.

Well done Humphries
Sounds like you are teaching yourself how to eat healthily
which is the real goal

Welcome @Benjispruce2 and @KobaniDaughters!

Excellent progress @Humphriescushion, well done.

I'm fasting tomorrow if anyone fancies joining me virtually! Doing the usual b2b...

Benjispruce2 · 07/02/2021 13:05

Thanks op. Just downloaded MFP and my brekkie was 350 so I overestimated which I’m relieved about. My TDEE is 1700. First FD tomorrow Halo

KobaniDaughters · 07/02/2021 16:42

Thanks for the welcome back!! Will try to keep up with the thread and check in tomorrow for FD

Benjispruce2 · 07/02/2021 17:36

Interesting. Not started 5:2 yet but today was slightly more mindful. After my avocado on sourdough at 10am I skipped lunch, went for a long dog walk and made a toast dinner with pork fillet and only had 2 toastie a, no Yorkshire and lots of veg, small spoon of stuffing.I’m still under 1300 cals in total with 2 glasses of white wine but shocked at the cals in wine. I think I know where my 7 lbs has come from.Blush

Benjispruce2 · 07/02/2021 17:36

Roast not toast

ginsparkles · 07/02/2021 18:43

Hi @Benjispruce2 and @KobaniDaughters

Well done on the loss @Humphriescushion !!

Weekend as ever not so tdee, but am allowing myself to just maintain right now. Not sure my head can cope with the added pressure of weight loss right now.

Fasting Monday and Tuesday as usual. Some yummy meals planned so here's to another week!

Benjispruce2 · 07/02/2021 21:13

Working tomorrow (school) which will help as I cannot eat in class so it’s lunch at 12 then nothing until 4 which is my danger time as I don’t normally eat dinner until 6. I’ve made a big crunchy salad and I’ll eat the majority of my 500 cals in the evening. Probs baked salmon with veg. Good luck everyone!

harriethoyle · 08/02/2021 08:40

Busy with work today although didn't have packed lunch ingredients in due to very poor domestic planning Confused so I'll need to try and pick something low cal up. Have given DH low cal ready meal purchase instructions for tea tonight!

ginsparkles · 08/02/2021 11:25

Nearly lunch and doing ok. Cold but ok. Have had warm squash so far. Brought to mini clementines with me and have seafood ratatouille for dinner tonight!

Keep going Monday fasters

ListeningQuietly · 08/02/2021 11:29

Flipping heck its cold out there !

Had to go to the dump and it was FREEZING (no snow here)
but Yoga was good and I'm staying with tea
and then a small sandwich for lunch (one thin slice of home made bread with hummus probably)
and a hot salad planed for supper

Even if you go over 500 calories, being ultra aware of meals and NO SNACKING will help

and yes, the calories in Wine are shocking Grin

Hi fasters!
So far so good. Was going to skip breakfast but was cold this morning and decided to ease in gently with steamed mushrooms and spinach and a green tea. Had water all morning just eating crunchy salad with lemon juice and a dry rice cake. Hot black coffee to fill and warm me.
400 cals left for dinner. Smile

KobaniDaughters · 08/02/2021 15:11

Good morning - I’m 8 hours behind you all. My plan is white bean, garlic and Rosemary soup I got out of the freezer for lunch and going to make up a veg soup from all the bits and bobs in the freezer for dinner, black coffee to sustain me the rest of the time!

KylieKoKo · 08/02/2021 16:02

Hi fasters, I am fasting today. I need it as my weekend involved 2 pies!

I have just had a miso soup and a slice of ham. l have a streamed HIIT class this evening and am planning a low calorie version of jambalaya.

phoebemcpeepee · 08/02/2021 18:14

So far so good with crudités and miso soup for lunch and herb teas in between. It's been surprisingly and I was amazed at how easy it was to skip breakfast without feeling hungry but tonight when I get home from work will be the real test.

Benjispruce2 · 08/02/2021 18:28

Kitchen closed early doors. I only ate at 7, 12 and 6 and just under 500 cals. Feel quite satisfied after a small serving of veggie chilli with green beans. Going to have a bath soon and stick to herbal tea. Tomorrow will be a treat. Hope everyone else went ok.

ListeningQuietly · 08/02/2021 18:32

I had a miniature garlic sausage sandwich for lunch (its easier to have small portions of strong flavoured things)

and am about to have rissoles and lentils for supper
should come in bout 600 ish

the main thing is to Close the Kitchen Between Meals
so after supper, brush your teeth and switch to drinking water or herbal tea

phoebe
your body had breakfast from the store on the back of your hips
well mine did anyway Wink

Kitchen closing on 445. Seafood ratatouille was yum! With cauliflower rice.

Second fast day tomorrow. As normal I'll have a light breakfast, salad and then Chicken satay rice bowl for dinner.

H0twaterbottle · 08/02/2021 20:29

Congrats to all of today's fasters Smile

I aimed for 800cals today for my fast day and have ended up with 900 cals eaten which is not ideal. However I am going with it and it should hopefully be ok if I have a healthy day tomorrow and another good fast day on weds/ Thursday.

TipperarygirlinLondon · 08/02/2021 21:04

Hello
Started 5:2 last Thursday with a fast day and then smother today. Trying to keep to 1200 calories in regular days and been doing well....I think.
Have a stone to lose...
Was hard today as so cold and prob went over to 650. Hoping to see a result by Thursday! Extra water has been great for my skin. Glad to be with others doing this chsllenge

KylieKoKo · 08/02/2021 22:12

All done on 509. I've not been too hungry today, I think because I overate at the weekend. Next fast day is Wednesday or Thursday depending on whether or not dp roasts a chicken tomorrow - I can't resist the leftovers the next day

KnobJockey · 08/02/2021 22:29

Fast day all done on 507, most successful one yet. No lunch, spag bol for dinner with broccolli and mushrooms and just a small portion of pasta. snack of a multipack bag of beef space raiders.

I've avoided tea more today too, had a mug on first waking, then none until dinner. I had read it can derail the effects of a 16:8 fast because of milk, but I don't know if I can give up that first cup.

KylieKoKo · 08/02/2021 22:46

@KnobJockey I sometimes squeeze some lemon juice and grate some ginger into a teapot and then pour boiling water over and drink that as tea with barely any calories in. Works if you want a hot drink rather than specifically milky tea. Mind you, I hate milk so probably easy for me to say!

KobaniDaughters · 09/02/2021 02:14

Closing the kitchen on 557. Def could have done less - picked on DD’s leftover lemon scone etc but feels good to have one in the bag. Will do second one either Thursday or Friday
