Anyone interested in joining me here? I posted this on an older thread so will just copy and paste my story below:

I'm on day 8 doing the 16/8. I'm loving it!! I'm against dieting as restrictions always lead me to binges and feeling rubbish. I haven't weighed myself in 5 years as I got rid of my scales due to a very unhealthy obsession with weighing myself. I am very interested in intuitive eating and have been trying to get in tune with my body but it's been hard and the lockdown has thrown me off guard and I was overeating, feeling bloated and fed up. I'm loving 16/8. My eating window is 11-7 and I find this fits well with my lifestyle. I'm surprised at how much energy I have in the morning. Even managing an hour long walk with the dog ...getting up at 7 as well with lots of energy. Feeling less bloated and just happier overall! I think this is really helping me be more intuitively about what I actually want! Having good, hearty food. Butter and cheese and full fat yoghurt! These foods were always a no no for me but I much prefer theses to fat free/low fat options. I feel satisfied after my meals too .
Oh and I can't do this without a bit of milk in my morning coffee ( freshly brewed filter) so haven't cut that out. And have had a cheeky glass of wine during my eating window ...🍷

Such a shame @TheStuffWasBad - my ears would love a rest 😂

@Klaudia14 I always usually eat more at home. Great if you can wfh though to stay safe and all. I will probably allow myself 1 g&t or glass of wine tomorrow night. I can’t really have any more as it’s a sure fire way to guarantee the baby will be up most of the night! I can’t say I haven’t considered starting day drinking since the schools close 😉 maybe I could start having wine with my lunch as a 16:8 thing?!

Klaudia14 · 30/04/2020 22:26

@Pandapotato definitely get it! Having the baby up most of the night would not be fun - not worth the extra drink
Lunchtime wine....I only allow it at Christmas Grin

Eek! Temptation has arrived! A couple of weeks ago Vodafone had a Friday offer for Joe and Sephs popcorn. Four bags have just arrived this morning.

Anyone want to come over for a movie night Grin

Went to bed early last night as I was hungry (I think it's a totm thing) . I was convinced I'd be starving this morning, but really not too bad. An hour till food and counting though...

What are your food plans today? I think I might make soup and a katsu curry.

Pandapotato · 01/05/2020 12:51

Ohh, I lobe popcorn @TheStuffWasBad.

Pretty easy fast fir me this morning as I had a massive lie in with the baby. I think he’s teething, he was so unsettled all night. I had left over pasta for Lucy with cherry tomatoes & feta. We always have pizza for Friday night, so that will be later on.
Probably no gin in anticipation of another shit night.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Klaudia14 · 01/05/2020 15:31

@TheStuffWasBad I love popcorn too!! Yum! Im the same and always feel more hungry during totm..

@Pandapotato great that you had a lie with the little one. Teething sucks!

This morning fasting was easy! Didn't get up until 8:30 and took dog for a walk then we played some board games and I then had to return a dress to Sainsbury's so I didn't way until 12! (17 hrs fast) going to do 12-8 today as planning on having wine this evening
Lunch was a slice of quiche and a sandwich with pastrami and coleslaw plus a homemade granola bar.
Tea will be chicken nuggets , curly fries , breaded mushrooms and salad. ( DD's request) I always have a huge plate of salad and small bits of everything else. I love salad with dressing ( Newman's Own and Cardinis Caesar are my favourite - cant stomach the fat free stuff)

Have a lovely evening you two Smile

Pandapotato · 02/05/2020 09:07

Your tea sounds yummy @klaudia14. I love a curly fry!
I was a bit naughty last night and had a couple of gin and tonics & some peanuts. Rocking Friday night! I think I was about an hour out of my fasting window, but never mind. Will have a later lunch today. Amazingly, the baby only got me up once. And even more amazingly, I don’t feel rough this morning. I get such bad hangovers usually, even after just 2 drinks. And they make me eat all the carbs! But so far today I’m ok with coffee and water.

I keep wanting to ask things like “do you have any nice weekend plans?” ... but I guess the majority answer is around staying at home these days! Anyway, I hope you have something nice to keep you busy.
I’m torn between having a housework day and walking to the woods to see the bluebells.

Klaudia14 · 02/05/2020 22:19

@Pandapotato sounds like you had a nice evening yesterday. How was the rest of your day today? I get what you mean about plans...life is just so strange at moment and my moods are on and off with this current situation.

Today was good. I did 12-8 again and had a bagel for lunch with leftover quiche on side (I'm only one who likes it in our house) and a vegetarian fry up for tea ( veggie sausages, eggs, beans and granary bread) and the last carrot cupcakes...also finished off the wine ( again I'm the only one who drinks it in my house --not a bad thing I suppose)
@TheStuffWasBad how was your day?

OP posts:
TheStuffWasBad · 03/05/2020 12:53

Yesterday was pretty good. Was really craving something junky and was figuring out what essentials I needed from the shop so I could justify going - when I realised it was 5 to 8, so no go! But I'm definitely finding getting to 12 pm easier every day, and I'm pretty sure my jeans are feeling looser. So it's all good!

Made bread this morning to have at 12 with soup and it was soo nice. Not sure what's for dinner yet.

Pandapotato · 03/05/2020 19:28

Hi @TheStuffWasBad and @klaudia14! How has your day been?
All good here. Lots of cleaning yesterday. The house is such a tip with us all home constantly. Today was gorgeous. We had a lovely walk in the woods amongst the bluebells. I carried the baby in the sling for 2 hours. Hoping that bit of extra weight lifting will help towards the huge portion of beef dinner I had tonight.

I’ve managed to stick to 11-7 eating window for a good 2 weeks now. Apart from my gin & peanuts Friday Eve! I definitely feel like my energy levels are more consistent. Despite some shitty nights with the baby, I’m feeling much less of an afternoon slump. Weight loss is slow, but I’m not surprised as I find it hard to lose when breastfeeding.
I hope you’ve had a lovely Sunday 🙂

Klaudia14 · 03/05/2020 19:53

@Pandapotato sounds like a great day and your walk sounds perfect! Nice to hear your energy levels are improving. It's same for me

I spent the morning gardening which was needed but also very therapeutic. Listened to a few podcasts I've had on my list for ages.

I've been eating 12-8 these last few days and working out well. Today we had pan fried seabass with new potatoes and peas and then I made crepes and we had them with ice cream Blush proper treat!

This evening hubby and I are going to finish Normal People ..we only started it last night but so good we need to finish it

Enjoy your evening ladies

Pandapotato · 03/05/2020 20:20

Ohhh! That meal sound amazing @klaudia14
I love fish, especially sea bass. But don’t cook it often as dh is veggie and the teenager is allergic ☹️
I’m going to watch normal people soon. I had a bit of a love / hate thing with the book, so intrigued to see how it translates to tv.
I miss podcasts since lockdown! What were you listening to? I don’t get a minute now, or drive anywhere. I was listening to my dad wrote a porno. Very funny! And so had me a little worried the baby’s first word would be a rude one!

Klaudia, your food sounds amazing today, totally envious! I'm also envious of your garden right now. I'm not a gardener, but I don't have a garden for the first time in over twenty years and ironically for the first time in my life i would really appreciate one! Enjoy.

And panda, I'm also envious of you bluebell woods! I moved here at the end of last year, and was looking forward to being able to explore some - but theres none near enough for me to go to. There's no such thing as bluebell woods where I was living. Don't get me wrong, I'm very lucky, there are lovely places to walk here. But I would love that. Next year!

I've been feeling pretty pants today to be honest. A mild but persistent headache. So I've been a bit rubbish food-wise. The bread turned out great, and the soup was okay. But had rather too many chocolate biscuits and jelly babies thus afternoon, and frozen gyoza at dinner time as I could not be bothered to cook. But I stuck within my hours and tomorrow will be better I'm sure.

I also forgot to have the strawberries in the fridge, so I've got that too look forward to.

TheStuffWasBad · 04/05/2020 11:27

Name change fail, I changed my name after my first post on here and was trying to keep it consistent on this thread. Oops 🤣.

Klaudia14 · 04/05/2020 19:57

@TheStuffWasBad I'm same! Rubbish day at work today. Very stressful and blah and also have had a headache most of the day. A colleague brought me a cupcake so that was nice but I made rubbish choices as also had sweets, chocolate and then a chip butty for tea ( with oven chips) and a salad ...also just had ice cream! Kept in my eating window but rubbish choices. Food shop day tomorrow so will stock up on fruit and healthier goodies.
How was your day ladies?

TheStuffWasBad · 04/05/2020 20:36

Oh I had plans for pancakes for 'breakfast' and couldn't be bothered. Toast, followed by loads of junk (chocolate biscuits and crisps), followed by crispy lemon cauliflower and brown rice. I was planning on making cauliflower buffalo wings, but saw that recipe and tried it instead. It was pretty good, which is good as it made enough for two days. Also kept within the eating window so I'm not being too hard on myself!

Headache is persisting, which is annoying, but it's very mild so not worth taking paracetamol for. I can't complain though, I have no stress at work as I'm not working just now!

Such is life.

Hope you have a less stressful day tomorrow!

Pandapotato · 04/05/2020 21:14

Those podcasts sound interesting @klaudia14. I practice mindfulness as part of one of the therapies I do for work. Very powerful stuff.
Sorry you had a tough day at work. Don’t beat yourself up about food choices. Sticking to your fast window is still a win.

@TheStuffWasBad hopefully it won’t be too long before you get out to explore your new area. I hope your headache is better today.

Another good day here in terms of sticking to the fast. Had a sandwich, crisps and yogurt for lunch and beef stir fry for dinner. Fruit for snacks. I also managed a pretty long pram walk with the baby. I’m so unfit after a horrendous pregnancy last year. I’m trying to do one good walk or use my treadmill every day.
It’s our 10 year wedding anniversary soon & i feel really bad that I’m about 2.5 stone heavier than I was ☹️

Anyway, I hope you’re both ok this evening.

Pandapotato · 04/05/2020 21:16

@TheStuffWasBad your post didn’t show up for me until after I posted mine.
Sorry your head still hurts. Have you cut down caffeine? That always does it for me.
Crispy lemon cauliflower sounds awesome. How do you make it?

chocolatecoveredkatie.com/lemon-cauliflower-recipe-healthy/

That's the recipe I used, although I added a bit more lemon, and some chilli flakes, and I mixed up the cornflour in some water before I added it to prevent lumps.

I'm going to check out Inspired Edinburgh. That's pretty much where I moved to, so that's intriguing.

Interesting to hear you do therapies Panda, I'm a bodyworker with a specialism in trauma. I totally agree with you Klaudia that one work is important, and it goes hand in hand with bodywork, releasing the physical affects of trauma is, for some people, the final part of the puzzle to facilitate transformation.

Pandapotato · 05/05/2020 13:22

@klaudia14 I will check out some of those authors, thank you. I hope you are having a nice day off.

@ChangeThePassword that looks amazing! I always order lemon chicken, so must try it.
I agree with you about the physical side of healing trauma. So many of the young people I see experience physical as well as mental health conditions. I truly believe that both our physical and mental health are closely intertwined.

I hope everyone is having a good day? I was starving today at 11am, so broke my fast with a naughty pain au chocolate. Never mind! I had a late night and I’m always hungry when I’m tired. The baby’s just gone down for his afternoon nap. Hopefully I’ll be able to persuade the 4 year old that we need some quiet time now!

Klaudia14 · 05/05/2020 20:41

Hey!!

My day was better but I got very anxious as our dog needed to see the vet ...it's a long story but I have anxiety when it comes to vets due to losing our previous dog before she was even 2. We were never going to get another but the dog we have now needed a home and he's amazing. He has made the lockdown so much easier and we love him so much. Anyway, he's ok..just a bad ear infection. He had an injection and has eye drops. He's currently cuddling with me.

I had a bagel for lunch, crisps yoghurt and then a grilled chicken burger for tea as we were rushing to get to vets . Had fruit, crackers and hummous before my fasting window started. Potentially didn't eat enough today. We shall see how I feel in morning.

I would generally comfort eat during distressing/anxious times so am proud of myself today.

How was your day ladies? I hope you got some quiet time toda @Pandapotato

How is your dog today @Klaudia14? I hope he’s feeling better. We’ve always had dogs, until about 2 years ago. I miss them so much & really hope to get another soon.
Well done for not eating your stress! That’s definitely something I do too.

I love Edinburgh too @TheStuffWasBad! Dh and I had a fab city break there a few years back. So many lovely places to wander.

How has everyone been today? I’ve been good on my fast & meals, but did have to have a few cheeky haribos from the kids’ stash for a boost this afternoon. Hopefully they won’t impact the scales too much. I’ve dropped 6lbs in 3 weeks since starting 16:8. That’s a steady move in the right direction.

Impiz · 06/05/2020 20:01

Hi everyone! I would say I eat really well during the day, always healthy and balanced brunch/lunch and dinners, but then I undo all the good work with late night snacking, including really stupid and unnecessary things like taking a chocolate bar to bed! Blush

I though 16:8 is such a simple idea but could really help me stop doing the late night snacking.

I only have one question - do I have to calorie count or in any other way track what I'm eating in those 8 hours?
