Shiny new thread for the BSD'ers. Best thing you can do is first read the MM bsd book do you get a full grasp of what the rules are but in a nutshell:
800 calories a day
No bread/pasta/potatoes/rice
No processed food, no alcohol
As close to no sugar you can get
Full fat, no low fat
Protein to keep you full
2-3 litres of water a day
10,000 steps a day (work your way up)
HIIT if you can 2-3 times a week

That's a great loss grace and nice that it's gone off your tummy. I'm going to have to accept defeat on the bikini front, they just don't look nice but that's ok. Just bought some size 10 trousers & tops which look great on even if I do say so myself😉 Trying to decide what to take away with me, I think I have it sussed, now need to decide on the children's clothes - let the battle commence😡

Morning all. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I was doing good yesterday until I starting an evening graze trail but scales down to 11.2.8, so only up 2 from Friday which is good for post weekend. Did a 30 min jog & about 20 min walk so that's a good start to the day. Need to keep the carbs in check today, lots to do so that helps. Anyone else about?

When are you off on holiday not?
Impressed by the early jog - I'm only just getting up!

I also had an evening graze trail yesterday - hey ho. Really need to get properly back on the wagon now. Keep telling myself it's only for another 4 weeks, but tiredness is holding me back I think.
Dragged the kids on a lake walk yesterday, lovely sunshine but my arthritis is flaring a bit and realised halfway round that pain in at least 4 places was making me pretty grumpy. Back to the regular pilates I think.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Morning Not2b you'll soon drop that 2 again.

My WI was the same as yesterday which was a small loss over the week (with a stubborn 0.6 fluctuation).

I think I may make more soups this week to see if I can lose that 0.6 once and for all.

Off to Spain, and I can't wait! I'm laughing at my 1st day (as in workday) off holiday and I've been up since 5.30, jogging/walking/making kids breakfast/washing my running gear/tidying. Now lying back in bed with a cuppa. Oola, don't stress too much about the exercise, diet will be key to dropping the pounds and I think I heard something about less sugar helping conditions like arthritis? 4 weeks flies by. Your body is telling you to slow down, the tiredness is the message. Place I hear you on the stubborn weight. My body just lovesss 11.0.8-11.4, adores it in fact. I think there are points that need really strict pushes to break through. I'm worried how my 12 days away will affect this. I'll be walking/jogging every day but the 🍷 and nibbles on holidays really challenge me. I'm going to make a convoys effort to keep the nibbles to a minimum. No snacking this break!! And keep alcohol to non hangover limit, although I know I'll indulge everyday

Morning everyone. I had a good day yesterday but I am also feeling a bit under the weather with scratchy throat and uber-snot. I'm a pound down this morning, which I'm pleased about although I have had a few good days mixed in with my non counted days, I seem to be naturally falling into a 5:2 or 4:3 sort of pattern. A cluster of 800-1000 cals days and then a more relaxed day, repeated during the week. The only sticking point is that at times I seem to gravitate to sweet stuff, which if I could just get rid of that little blip each week I reckon I could pick my weightloss back up. Still, I have a good amount of pounds lost now, I think it's close to 30 on this plan, and just 12 to go!

That's really good bear, you're over 2/3 of the way to goal! I misread my scales this morning, I'm actually 11.2 so only 1.2 above Friday's weight. Has me rethinking my dinner plan of pizza, might see can I find something lighter in the freezer, I so so want to see 11.0.8 in the morning before I leave (total liar, want to see 10.13.8😉) I was only having a couple of slices but I'm scared it will bloat me, freezer forage coming up!

Not2be why not try some sort of pizza topped 'something else' ... I like to do turkey breast steak topped with tomato, ham, mozzarella etc but I have also done red peppers stuffed with pizza toppings which is lovely (and still pizza-y enough to keep me from the real McCoy!)

I just had fajita-less fajita for lunch, with guacamole, sweet potato wedges and salad. Very nice, hoping its not too high when i work out the calories...

About 470, which is fine and comes in at 796 for the day with breakfsat (smoothie) and dinner (scrambled egg)

The fridge & freezer were bsd friendly dinner free but I got a nice Cajun chicken breast so I'll have that with salad. Delighted to have found a solution - and I'd already told the kids they could have my bit if pizza with their dinner so I had to find something 😁

Ooh lovely not, you luck thing - could really do with a holiday here.
I do need to slow down you're right, but have so much to do - it's our busiest coupld of months with work and my house is beyond a tip! Aargh. Slowly chipping away at it is my plan.

Right back at ya Cymru it sucks eh? Hope you feel lifted/better soon.

Liking these pizza substitute ideas, very useful, cheers everyone!

Snap on the house tip oola but I managed to snap out of my inertia to do a deep deep vacuum and mop the kitchen God knows when I did that last Popped the nano & earphones on, had lost it in the squalor, found it this morning. Loads of music I hadn't heard in yonks, cranked up the volume & went for it. Absolutely dripping with sweat now! Dammit I'll sweat off those 2.2 pounds if it kills me😁

Heh he, I did the hot kitchen mopping yesterday. Our kitchen has a carbon fibre roof so boiling in summer, freezing in winter - very practical.
Also had the music cranked up loud!

Was gonna tackle bathroom and bedroom today, but after walking the dog and shopping am knackered. And my knees and back hurt so am lying about instead.

On the plus side, the exercise value of cleaning a dirty mess is extra I reckon!

Gram flour flatbreads work as a pizza base (chick-pea) take a small amount of time to cook + are like pancake bases. Easy to make + freeze.

Are you back from your trip H3l? Thanks for the tip, maybe one day I'll get organised to give it a shot. It was just meant to be a tasty easy dinner, but in reflection I need to keep on plan to the very last minute to the holiday. Going to take eggs/ham/cheese for brekkie on the plane. Last break I went away I started eating crisps on the plane and didn't stop for 5 days😳

H3l3na I bought some gram flour after reading about it on this thread and I have never used it. Do you have a recipe for flat breads I could try? Also have any of you used coconut flour? It's a strange substance, tastes coconutty, doesn't really behave like flour....I made a waffle with it this weekend and it was ok, I wondered if anyone else had any suggestions with it?
Someone on a different thread suggested a 'cheese cake' using crushed nuts as a base, Greek you mixed with coconut flour as the filling, and fruit on top. If I get chance tomorrow I'm going to try this but it sounds dangerous as far as calories go so might make individual portions.

Hi, I am new here and just finished day one of the diet. I am in bed now (early shift tomorrow) and I feel hungry :( Not desperately hungry or anything. Does this feeling go away after a few days? Not sure I can manage eight weeks like this

Report
APlaceOnTheCouch · 04/07/2016 21:53

Welcome Oroch The hungry feeling does go away after a few days. Stick with it. We all found the first few days hard. Make sure you eat enough protein and drink enough.
