Shiny new thread for the BSD'ers. Best thing you can do is first read the MM bsd book do you get a full grasp of what the rules are but in a nutshell:
800 calories a day
No bread/pasta/potatoes/rice
No processed food, no alcohol
As close to no sugar you can get
Full fat, no low fat
Protein to keep you full
2-3 litres of water a day
10,000 steps a day (work your way up)
HIIT if you can 2-3 times a week

I have googled that book on Amazon now Must! Good plan and do check back in on us.....I have tried so many diets think its just a case of keep trying as with every one you learn something new.

Enjoy your hol bear!

I need to weigh in tomorrow, yesterday I had a day off (including peanut butter cornettos!) and shared a bottle of red wine with a friend last night;today I had breakfast, delicious tapas at lunch with my family and no cal counting either day but I am doing my no evening meal trick today and hungry now so sipping tea! I am trying to get back down to my lowest weight on this and then to lose an additional 3lbs.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/08/2016 19:54

Keepon I am trying shakes next week, more to 'unremind' myself about food and big meals and get myself back into the BSD mindset. I think, although not 100% sure, that the shakes are a meal replacement and are 200 cals each? The book says have 3 shakes plus 200 cals of veg, although I am going to do 2 shakes and a 400 calories meal. I've never done meal replacement diets before, and I do love food so I think it might be quite a shock to the system but I'm only going to do it for 2 weeks to get back in the zone!

Thanks everyone - I'll check back in and let you know how I get on!

lookingforhope · 04/08/2016 21:39

Hi all - not a bad day today. One advantage of being at home with broken limb is that I get up later and only have 2 meals - so eggs, mushrooms, asparagus and spinach for brunch and mixed roasted vegetables with halloumi cubes for dinner (I nicked the idea off one of these threads so whoever posted it, thank you it was yummy!) One small snack of a couple of slices of roast beef and a boullion cube in hot water and that's it. The lack of exercise is getting me down though! Good luck to all of you who are attempting the shakes - I struggle without proper food (well, I struggle without too much food some days which is why I got in this state in the first place Grin ). Let us know how you get on ...

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/08/2016 23:10

It's a bit wooooo that my last message reprinted itself 90 minutes after I first posted it.....how bizarre will NOT Google glitches in the matrix after spooking myself last time I read about it on mumsnet.
Keep I bought online through Amazon purely because I want them there to start asap and won 't be able to get to the shops. It was 11.50 ish plus delivery for 10 shakes of powder,
I think I would, personally, find the eggs/fish/ milk plan very difficult after a week of heavy indulgence, as it's a bit of food but not enough IYSWIM? I am hoping to be able to detach myself from food by doing the shakes, in order to get myself properly back on it. I did a C9 cleanse once and it was easier than a low cal diet ( it was 2 shakes and 600 cals for 9 days) because it was a total change of routine. Hoping this will have the same effect.

GraceGildee · 05/08/2016 09:07

I've finished my eight weeks but I'm going to carry on but go over the 800 calories if i want to occasionally. Lost around two stone, would have been more if I'd been stricter but I like cocktails and chocolate occasionally.
I like this way of eating and it works for me but it's hard to stick to if you haven't planned properly. I want to lose more weight and I feel that I know what 800 calories looks like now. Good luck everyone.

lookingforhope · 05/08/2016 09:26

Well done Grace, what a fantastic loss . It's stories like yours that keep me away from the biscuits (the red wine is harder to avoid though) Confused

APlaceOnTheCouch · 05/08/2016 10:45

Well done Grace! That's a great loss Flowers

GraceGildee · 05/08/2016 11:36

Thank you! I think I stuck to this better than previous eating plans as it was so encouraging seeing the weight come off. Thank you so much to whoever recommended the psyllium husk to me, it may taste like sawdust but it has improved my IBS no end.

Not2bObvious · 05/08/2016 15:10

That's brilliant grace and preens as it was she who recommended psyllium but she needs to get better at taking it too
Well well done, 2 stone still having a bit of what you fancy, success!

Newaverage, I am the same I need targets or challenges to keep things fresh.

Weighed in today, not too bad just up .3 of a lb from tue. All my cals gone again for today so back to drinking tea!

elliejjtiny · 05/08/2016 15:58

well done grace, that's brilliant.

GraceGildee · 05/08/2016 16:50

Thank you sooooo much Not2b!! I've had IBS all my life and this is the first thing that's actually worked. I find it best to take it in a small glass of water then drink a big one straight after.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/08/2016 12:34

Morning all! Coming home today, obviously sun has decided to shine. We are filling time until traffic has died off a bit, enjoying my last day of gluttony before I begin again with earnest! Anyone up for a 2 week start from scratch total go for it? (Starting Monday as my shakes will be delivered!) I'm actually really looking forward to getting on the scales and drawing a line, I feel so unhealthy! I suspect a half stone gain as well!

GraceGildee · 06/08/2016 13:15

I'll join you. I know I've done well but after completing eight weeks I can feel myself complacently sliding into gluttony. I go away in two weeks and want to get to the next stone band. More roast veg for me and less alcohol and chocolate.

lookingforhope · 06/08/2016 16:56

Hi Bear. I will join you and Grace on Monday. Not been too bad this week but as I've got the elbow issue have been eating some Covent Garden soups and processed stuff for ease (can't chop veg or lift heavy pans) and confess to the odd bit of chocolate to stave off the sheer boredom of being stuck in, unable to drive. Going out for dinner tonight. Already chosen the salad but there may be wine.... So with you 100% from Monday (though on food, not shakes).

APlaceOnTheCouch · 06/08/2016 17:04

I should join you on Monday but realistically I'm not sure I will. Blush
bear I hope you had a fab holiday. You never know, your WI might be better than you think.

yumyumpoppycat · 06/08/2016 17:21

I will join in too. I need to be mostly strict over the next two weeks bar 2 days when we are having a couple of days away. I havent really been doing 800, more like guessing and not eating an evening meal (2 healthyish susbstantial meals a snack and teas and coffee) which is working so far but I am up for some strictness Grin

Have a lovely weekend all

yumyumpoppycat · 07/08/2016 09:32

weight up again today but my period has come a week early (only 1 week period free wah) which is a bit weird, but happened once a year or so ago then went back to normal so hopefully nothing.

pfrench · 07/08/2016 09:36

Started today... just got on the scales (post holiday), and was truly horrified. BMI of 36.4. Jeeeeebus.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/08/2016 12:13

Weighed in this morning post holiday- gained 7 and a bit pounds, I'm now a round 12.0 stone. Cross with myself because I have blatantly gorged myself all week, but also quite looking forward to a few really strict weeks now to hopefully get that gain off and maybe a bit more. Had my first shake this morning, they are ok actually, very smooth and quite chocolates. Not sure I will enjoy 2 a day for a week though, but I might make a pot of veg soup to replace the lunchtime shake after a few days. I've been very busy this morning, tackling the laundry mountain so not really feeling too hungry yet and I've drunk a lot of water too. Happy Sunday everyone!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 07/08/2016 23:03

bear welcome back and well done getting started on the shakes straight away.
I managed some walking today and got to just under 800 cals. Hopefully it bodes well for this week as I had been struggling to get back to 800 cals.

GraceGildee · 08/08/2016 00:36

Good day yesterday. Went to a punk festival today and had fish and chips - no low carb food anywhere Grin
