Hi namechange. - you are looking at as close to 50g of carbs as you can get, this is the max to aim for!

Not2bObvious · 09/05/2016 22:09

I keep losing my posts - so this is a test. I finished the day at 750 and was sorely tempted to go mooch around the kitchen but I just didn't! Day 1 of 4 @800

Dammit it's working again, and my lost posts were great, I'm sad for you missing my musings😉

Morning all. Up to 11.5 from 11.3 on Friday, better than last Tuesday's gain of 6.4Blush I can't escape weekend gain that's for sure. So 3 days left of 800 to get to 11.1. Aim high eh😁 The only way I can stick to 800 is to eat only twice a day with maybe an almond milk & pb2 shake to fill the after dinner gap. Satisfies my sweet craving too. Soup for lunch today as long as it defrosts by 12.30! Omelatte for dinner. P'ing down here so won't get a walk until later, feel antsy, I love my morning wander

Yep Koko, although it's probably more 4:3, no way I can do 800 between Friday & Sunday. This is my second week of it so we'll see how it goes. Great work yesterday, a good day in the bag is the best motivator

Oh and I'm doing a lot of kettle bells, I do weights too. I love fitness blenders workouts on YouTube. I'm still aching from my gym class on Saturday but I did a 25 min kb workout yesterday, will do it again tomorrow or Thursday and once over the weekend.

Morning all, not2b what's a pb2 shake please? keepon - I am on reverse 5:2 as well, although this week I am aiming for 6:1 - Thurs night off, dinner & show on locally, so no way will I be able to stick to 800. Managed a good day yesterday. Porridge with almond milk again today, mushroom soup for lunch and something with mince I am defrosting - could be chilli, might even be spag-Bol sauce or perhaps my cheat's Moussaka.... Only time will tell.... We don't run to freezer marker pens in this house which sometimes leads to unusual dining experiences......Wink

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/05/2016 10:05

h3l3na I use an eyeliner pencil to write on plastic boxes for the freezer, write on/wash off!
Morning all, the summer is over, rain rain rain today. I have a grouchy teething baby and a bomb site of a house to clean as well, can you tell I'm in a pissy mood?
Had good day yesterday, all planned for today, definitely agree that a good day in the bag is a great motivator. Went for a run yesterday and was surprisingly not as desperately unfit as I expected, so I might go tonight and add in a little extra loop to extend my distance. Weigh in tomorrow, I have managed to relose the several pounds I gained this weekend, but no new loss as such so I need to be extra good today!
Have a good one y'all!

H3l3naGraham · 10/05/2016 10:40

That's a brilliant idea newbear. Thank you so much, have a load of those kicking around in my make-up drawer!! Smile Hope the rain stops for your run, am doing winter laundry before it's all put away for the summer, except the jumpers won't dry properly in the tumble drier & I'm not sure if it's damper indoors our out!

Not2bObvious · 10/05/2016 10:48

Pb2 is a peanut butter powder that you can use to make up peanut butter or in my case on shakes, I have the chocolate flavour. It's only 45 cals for 12gr and replaces the 150 cals I was using on peanut butter & hot choc in my almond milk. Decent amount of protein in it. I got it from a shop that does protein powders and all that stuff for €10, but you can buy on Amazon.

Hi everyone, I've missed my WI again - -I forgot to do it before I washed my hair-- but I feel heavier Last week, clothes felt looser. I'm not sure if it's just psychological because I feel stuck in a rut . . .

I upped my protein yesterday and my carbs and cals were both under so I should be losing . . .

Chilli for dinner last night and for lunch today. I made it without kidney beans. DS was so funny. He said 'this is so much better than school. I think I'll tell the school to take the kidney beans out of their's. Do you think they'd be ok with that?' 'Hmm, no!' Grin

H3l3naGraham · 10/05/2016 12:28

Thank you not2b - I love peanut butter and will look this up Smile great steer!

Itscurtainsforyou · 10/05/2016 12:29

My first weigh-in today - I've lost 3.2kg/half a stone in one week!

I have a long way to go (36kg in total) and I'm sure it will slow down, but for now I'm really pleased Smile

I know the book talks about the diet being able to reduce the fat around the organs etc - does that reduce at the same rate as the "outer" fat?

H3l3naGraham · 10/05/2016 12:42

Well done curtains a brilliant start!! The visceral fat you refer to, the stuff around organs is the hardest to lose, I understand it goes last, after all the other fat has been gone.....

H3l3naGraham · 10/05/2016 13:08

Gone, where did been come from!?

APlaceOnTheCouch · 10/05/2016 14:20

Congratulations Itscurtains - that's an excellent start! and a great motivator to keep going

mopsytop · 10/05/2016 17:36

I lost 6lbs this week (first week) (maybe 7 not sure about scales), so I am delighted. Motivated to keep going. Got in a 10k walk this morning before the rain.

H3l3naGraham · 10/05/2016 18:42

Well done mopsy - Onwards & downwards!!

Not2bObvious · 11/05/2016 06:45

Had a bad day yesterday, was ravenously hungry and lost the plot a bit. Anyway I've been rewarded with a .6 of a pound increase in the scales, very doubtful I'll hit my goal of 2 pounds down by Friday as if have to lose 4.6 pound Confused Only if I lose a limb😁 I'll hope for getting back to 11.3, that might be doable if I get today & tomorrow at 800. I'm already feeling hungry, probably cause I ate carby/sugary food yesterday, fool! How's everyone else this dark & drizzly morning? Can't even get my walk in, raging

Morning
well done mopsy and curtains

WI this morn cos starting week 6 today. It's a small down by 1 and three quarters of a pound so that's good. Period due any day so feeling bigger. Gonna try and keep up the water drinking today to see if that helps.
I find that when i've been strict for a few days I lose the plot a bit too. It's really hard isn't it?

Can someone explain what 6:1 and reverse 5:2 are please? I'm afraid I'm not very up on the lingo.
Got to try and up the exercise this week - it's been lacking the last few days.
Cheers everyone
xx

H3l3naGraham · 11/05/2016 09:14

Hi not2b & keepon - sorry that you have had bad days, for once I can congratulate myself on being good, there's a 1/2 bottle of delish red that's been sitting in my kitchen since Sunday & I haven't touched it, I keep thinking swimming costume....... & keep trying on too-tight clothes. Am sure that you will re-focus today. I am trying hard to chant way-of-life every time I get tempted, I can't face ever having to do this again so want to try to stick with the BSD Med principles for life. We'll see.....

Ho oola - I am not good with the acronyms either, don't worry. MM's 1st big diet book was the 5:2 diet, eating normally for 5 days, semi-fasting for 2. (Many people are doing this on BSD too, once they hit tgt weight they switch to a Med diet & do 800 calories twice a week or twice a month, whatever it takes to keep the weight off)

What I a couple of others on this stream are doing is BSD 800 calories for 5 days a week & more 'normal food' for 2 days, so we are reversing the original principles. 6:1 is dieting 6 days, more normal/more relaxed food on the 7th day. My 1 or 2 more relaxed days usually = wine and a piece of toast for brekkie albeit rye toast, which isn't so bad for blood sugar surges, I don't have an issue with cakes or sweet stuff, can take 'em or leave 'em, but crispbreads (sad) and bread are more of an issue so DH & I have weekend treats of a piece of toast each. Effectively we are playing around with the diet to try to get it to fit in with our lifestyles. Some extremely good souls are sticking to 800 (or as near as) for the full 8 weeks, some of us aren't so strong.

Doing 5:2 or 6:1 will extend the diet beyond 8 weeks. I am doing it until I hit my tgt weight.
