Hi not2b & keepon - sorry that you have had bad days, for once I can congratulate myself on being good, there's a 1/2 bottle of delish red that's been sitting in my kitchen since Sunday & I haven't touched it, I keep thinking swimming costume....... & keep trying on too-tight clothes. Am sure that you will re-focus today. I am trying hard to chant way-of-life every time I get tempted, I can't face ever having to do this again so want to try to stick with the BSD Med principles for life. We'll see.....
Ho oola - I am not good with the acronyms either, don't worry. MM's 1st big diet book was the 5:2 diet, eating normally for 5 days, semi-fasting for 2. (Many people are doing this on BSD too, once they hit tgt weight they switch to a Med diet & do 800 calories twice a week or twice a month, whatever it takes to keep the weight off)
What I a couple of others on this stream are doing is BSD 800 calories for 5 days a week & more 'normal food' for 2 days, so we are reversing the original principles. 6:1 is dieting 6 days, more normal/more relaxed food on the 7th day. My 1 or 2 more relaxed days usually = wine and a piece of toast for brekkie albeit rye toast, which isn't so bad for blood sugar surges, I don't have an issue with cakes or sweet stuff, can take 'em or leave 'em, but crispbreads (sad) and bread are more of an issue so DH & I have weekend treats of a piece of toast each. Effectively we are playing around with the diet to try to get it to fit in with our lifestyles. Some extremely good souls are sticking to 800 (or as near as) for the full 8 weeks, some of us aren't so strong.
Doing 5:2 or 6:1 will extend the diet beyond 8 weeks. I am doing it until I hit my tgt weight.
