Huge congratulations zob, that's a very impressive achievement, delighted for you.
H3l my advice would be a social butterfly, chat, wander around, have a canapé or 2, glass of wine, but channel tall gracious social queen who wouldn't be caught dead with sausage roll flakes adorning her beautifully made up face. Seek out a glass of water too, cause you're ver ver thirsty doncha know dahling. Failing that, start smoking😁

Not2B - that is a brilliant suggestion, I shall channel my inner Zsa Zsa Gabor (good grief, where DID that thought come from) & play sultry & sophisticated it will make a change from eyes rolling around like marbles on a plate.... Suspect it's the type of cocktail party where people falling over pissed would be considered to lower the tone........so best I have looong conversation with DH as well as with myself. Actually learning to put a glass down might help as opposed to clinging onto it & slurping for Britain all night.....ConfusedSmile

I've done my first 10 days now and lost 7lb, which I'm very pleased about. I've settled down to an egg based breakfast - wither poached on 1/2 avocado or a two egg omelette with cherry tomatoes. For lunch I'm having a box of salad with some feta cheese, or sesame tofu and in the evenings just a small portion of what everyone else is having but with no potato / rice/ pasta, so maybe a curry or chilli, pasta sauce with extra lentils or chick peas and lots of quorn filets, sausages and steaks. I felt a bit sick on days 3&4 but otherwise have better energy levels . I have a horribly big birthday to celebrated in August and a chubby waistline. When I read the book I thought horrible thoughts about my internal organs being wrapped in fat which sort of scared me into action. No history of diabetes in my family but why risk something you can avoid ?

H3l3naGraham · 31/03/2016 12:59

zobalina - that's a brilliant result, see WOOSH actually works............!!

TheWoodenSpoonOfMischief · 31/03/2016 15:47

I'm hanging in there but today I have a headache and lots of admin which involves phone calls where I'm on hold for 10 hrs and end up getting nowhere. Grrr. I hate that. Feels like I've wasted a whole day.
I'm going to have an early dinner with the kids and go to bed when they do.

yumyumpoppycat · 31/03/2016 17:07

Ah wooden spoon Flowers hope tomorrow is better

Zobalina Wine really happy for you that is fab busting 17 year old fat!!

Exconstance hopefully that scary thought will be the break through. I think this book is good at reassuring us that it is not something extreme to go on a low cal diet it is a positive and necessary thing for our health.

I sts today but had a meal out yest for work friends bday. All my cals and then some were gone by 2.30 today so back on the herbal tea but not hungry at all.

Elvish · 31/03/2016 17:56

Well you were all right - lost 3 of the 4 I put on over the weekend Grin

Well done Zob keep up the good work.

Water is the best idea H3l have it in a tall glass and tell people you're drinking gin Wink

7lb in 10 days is a great start ExCon I found it very motivating that you can loose so much.

I'm off to the supermarket for something for our dinner, I find it really hard to shop when I'm hungry and resist all the bad stuff - but I need to keep on it this week so I can have next week off...

Not2bObvious · 31/03/2016 19:08

Evening all. Had a burger with salad for a late lunch so that's me done eating for the day. Most days I see to be following a 16:8 approach, skipping breakfast but that's pretty much cause I'm busy this week. Bought a top & jeans in size 10 - ok vanity size 10 but they look pretty good! Jeans are snug but not embarrassingly so. My first size 10 trousers in oh so long - last time I was that size, well the day clothes were a school uniform😂

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 31/03/2016 20:03

well done not2b size 10!!!!

Laska5772 · 31/03/2016 20:15

I cant stop eating today .... Please tell me off!!

welshbubba · 31/03/2016 20:15

I've NEVER been a size 10 - even at my old -six stone lighter- weight Envy!

Sooo hungry this evening, about ready to eat my arm but fish pie without the potato has filled the hole. There's a little bit of flour in the sauce but otherwise should be ok. Interestingly when I was hungry I wasn't contemplating eating bread or carbs but having something like houmous that would have just upped my calories for the day, maybe the diet is changing my thinking -unlikely as constantly thinking about chocolate-.

By the way is anyone finding they are weeing loads?? I am drinking more than usual but not gallons, and probably not as much as I should on this diet. But I'm having to get up at night to go, and more in the day. I'm hoping it's all the fat dissolving or something, and not a symptom of diabetes! Smile

welshbubba · 31/03/2016 20:17

Hmmm strikethroughs worked well!! Meant to check before posting!!

zobalina77 · 31/03/2016 20:22

I wee all the time Welshbubba. I hoped after a couple of weeks I would be used to the extra water, but no. At work I just used to go to the loo in my break, but now I need to go at least twice extra. Am up in the night too.

Not2bObvious · 31/03/2016 20:26

Oh I'm not a size 10 Welsh, I'm a purchaser of 1 pair of generous sized jeans😁 Even if they'd looked like a pile'o'sh*te I'd be wearing them for the kick they've given me. I am a tad worried they aren't nice but Dh and dd11 insist they look good. They were only a tenner so what matter. I just need to stay lean between today & tomorrow so they still fit when I'm going out. Of course after my meal out I may rue not buying the top in a size 12 cause I may need to open the button or insist on a trendy bar where I can stand all night.
Yy to the weeing, going through the loo roll at a shocking rateBlush

Actually ive not been that good all week (and didnt I say i e was going to go for it this week?) , but scales have stayed the same . .. not sure what I havent managed it this week.. Its not been carb heavy , but what carbs there have been have been mainly dark choc..

Ive eaten a whole 100g bar this week .. which is bad for me as I usually only have a couple of squares at a time and not everyday.
Have been averaging about 900 cals each day .. but today its about 1200.. Angry

cant blame anything .. no illness, too old for TOM,
I suppose It has been a bit stressful workwise..

I need to go and try on some clothes that used to be too small I think ( that always helps )

Laska5772 · 31/03/2016 20:30

Bed sounds like a good idea not2B . Think I might..

yumyumpoppycat · 31/03/2016 22:18

Oh no Laska!

You have done this for over 8 weeks though, maybe its time to take a couple of days off, just eat low carb med but no calorie counting. Totally no shame in staying the same for a week either, good in fact, prob getting ready for a whoosh. sounds like most of us have had one of those weeks along the way and 900-1200 on a rough week is really great work too Star

Not2bObvious · 31/03/2016 22:27

seconds yums post - And remember 900-1100 is still a significant drop from most folks tdee, why would you gain on that? You'll lose on that for sure, 800 isn't a magic number and it's only meant to be for 8 weeks - we can't lose sight of that. So you ate your chocolate, no big deal - now you've eliminated that problem 😁 If you still feel cross about it then don't buy more til when you would have ran out of it naturally, like we were told as kids "when it's gone it's gone"...saying that just reminded me what a stupid saying that is!

Morning all. Scales down .2 of a pound so starting April at 11.5
Looking in the bathroom mirror my middle section is definitely shrinking, at last some visible proof of loss. I'm v much looking forward to putting the 11's behind me, I think that will be the huge success for me after years of yo-yo'ing around. Tired this morning, awake since 5, still have an irritating snuffly thing going on and sore throat and my lips are shredded with it too. Ouf, have to get through this day so I can go out tonight. Dreading tomorrow's inevitable hangover- I have every intention of taking it easy but my company for tonight doesn't get out often & is v bad influence 😁

Laska, agree with yum and not2, this stagnating is no shame, just part of the process. Don't worry about it, just continue.
