Wonderful news not2b really pleased for you! Grin

H3l3naGraham · 06/04/2016 09:00

PS Not2b I told you so about those jeans!! GrinGrinGrin

welshbubba · 06/04/2016 11:03

Well I fell of the wagon and had a take away and chocolate! Didn't actually enjoy the take away but choc was yummy. But afterwards felt really full and bloated. Back on track today. Didn't weigh though!!

H3l3naGraham · 06/04/2016 12:10

Tomorrow is another day Welsh!

Not2bObvious · 06/04/2016 12:51

There's 2 pairs of jeans H3l, the American ones and the size 8 m&s pair, the size 8 (closer to a real 10 no doubt) have to either be returned by the 29th or kept. The last time I tried them on was 26th March, and I was 5lb heavier. I'll try them again, see if there's any change. Still 3 weeks before return date, although I think I'd need to be 10.3 to fit them!
Never mind welsh, I had a fair bit of chocolate last night as well, cravings must have been in the air!

Fingers crossed for you not2b - am sure that you will get themon comfortably!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 06/04/2016 13:41

Yay, not2b - brilliant loss! The 29th is ages away and lots could change in that time.

Scales still not moving for me on day 4 - boo! However, certain other things (ahem) are not moving either, so I expect that's why. Hoping for a whoosh when they do! I do feel thinner. My PIL are coming on Friday for a long weekend, though, so I will have to be extremely disciplined to keep on with it then. A sneaky glass of wine or two may make their way into the mix!

H3l3naGraham · 06/04/2016 14:39

Make that red wine 2extra - less sugar.

Am awaiting the sound of a happy squeal from Not2B.....

mootime · 06/04/2016 17:19

29th is ages. Not sure what the rate of loss is when 800cal -ing everyday but sounds like your size 8's may well fit.

I'm starving today so I'm going to eat with the kids. I've not stopped picking since I walked in the door, so it's celeriac spaghetti and lean Bolognese sauce for me!

mootime · 06/04/2016 17:20

Too extra, hope you get some movement soon!

H3l3naGraham · 06/04/2016 17:24

You should have seen me making my 1st celeriac spaghetti Moo totally hilarious, socking great celeriac on the pin gadget turning the handle like I was spit roasting a pig.... good exercise for the upper arm muscles! Enjoy your dins!

Not2bObvious · 06/04/2016 19:25

What a busy day! Zonked, ate dinner for lunch so I'm a bit out of kilter, managed to get my 10,000 steps done by hook or by crook (last 1500 done dancing around the kitchen haha) Head feels like it's going to explode! Made some homemade liqueur this afternoon & cakes, haven't touched either, but come Friday I'm having a cocktail😁
Not interested in the cake, but then it is for tomorrow's dinner so I'm not that well behaved, couldn't bear to do another one

Obs2016 · 06/04/2016 19:28

I've never done celeriac spaghetti. Ponders if I could without a spiralizer?

Not2bObvious · 06/04/2016 19:44

I've made celeriac mash and that was hard work, knobbly/hard as concrete b*stards. I'd had a hankering for it after having celeriac coleslaw, which is fabulous (although made by professionals)
You'll have to tell us what it was like H3l and if I fancy a workout I might try one again!
Oh yeah I'd say be tough to do Obs....jeez talk about me making a long story long...

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 06/04/2016 20:10

Celeriac coleslaw sounds lush. Hoping FIL brings celeriac when he comes on Fri (he usually brings us allotment veg - when is celeriac in season?).

I'm on 897 cals after cracking and adding hm creamy sauce to my steak. It's all low carb, though!

Thank you for your kind wishes, Moo! Things have improved in that respect - FX for a whoosh tomorrow!

ICJump · 06/04/2016 20:56

Three days in and I've lots 3 kilos! That over 6 pounds!

Today will be a challenging day.
I'm at home with just DS and I'm studing. Followed by dh being home very late. These would normally be cues for eating all the things.

So I'll have egg and avocado for breakfast, and veggie frittata for lunch and them chicken for dinner which we will eat earlier than normal.

mootime · 06/04/2016 22:24

ICJ that's amazing, well done!

Tooextra. Good newsSmile on the movement

Celeriac spaghetti was done with the spiraliser but is pretty hard work. However it is good and somehow more filling than courgetti.

I first did it with an amazing Hemsley and Hemsley recipe for carbonara with celeriac spaghetti. It's amazing.

The other good celeriac dish is a remoulded with crab. Grate celeriac and mix with mayo and crab and dill. De lish...

Sorry, I struggle to catch everyone's names as I'm always on my phone!!

mootime · 06/04/2016 22:26

Maybe the making of celeriac spaghetti can make up for today's poor step count...?

Not2bObvious · 07/04/2016 07:07

Morning all. Sts on the scales today which is return to the pattern I was seeing on the first 4 weeks of bsd. Body getting used to the new lower weight (and movement needed too- tmi whoops) It's going to be a loonnnggg day. Full day in work, help dad with stuff, go to school meeting thing, back for dinner with v likely glass(es) of wine. Tired thinking of it already. Doubtful I'll get my steps in as I can see a window for a walk. Of course all the running around might do it. I've gotten quite regimental about completing the steps (sounds like I'm talking 12 steps😁) and drinking 2-3 litres of water. Convinced it's the final bit of the puzzle to this wol working to its fullest. Anyone up to anything interesting today?

Hi everyone
Not2b sounds like you are doing really well. I really need to be more disciplined at tracking water. Will be interesting to see how long your sts lasts? Do people see mini plateaus at certain weeks?

I had a great time in Dublin, I'm from Wicklow originally but living in London for a good few years now. Where abouts in Ireland are you?

Well today is day 10 for me. After a slightly bumpy first week I have seen a further 3lb loss over the last two days. I have a dinner out tonight but have looked at the menu and see an option for chicken breast with veg and celeriac mash, sounds like the best option?? Or steak, could swap the chips for veg and hold the sauce?
Though it's the wine I'm worried about!!

Aside from that should have a bump-free week and hoping the 3lb so far will continue in the right direction!!

Have a good day everyone Smile

Not2bObvious · 07/04/2016 08:07

Dubliner and living in Dublin (well, suburbs) I had a few weeks of 2-3 days sts, I try to think of them as maintenance cause if I think plateau I panic a bit. I think the body needs time to catch up. I've also felt a bit panicky when weight drops day after day, I know it's silly but I get scared something's wrong or I'm getting an ED (dramatic eh?)
Chicken sounds good as you mightn't want to ask for changes to steak dish (I hate people asking me why I'm not eating my bread/chips whatever- p*ss off and eat your own
meal😁) Well done on the losses!
Londons quite a change from Wicklow. I used to visit around once a month in my old job - could never get my head around it, so big. I sound like such a parochial don't I lol!

I try and take the long view that plateaus go hand in hand with whooshes, it's never a steady line because of various factors. I know that if I stick to plan it's basically a mathematical certainty that I will lose week on week.

That said it's always good to see a nice loss on the scales! Even better is digging into old clothes, or even new ones that never fitted, and being able to fit them. I have some brand new linen trousers that are too small but didn't send back as I fully intend to fit them in a month or 2, although currently I can't do up the button.

Water is definitely key. I have a big glass I always use, I know that 4 of those is one litre. I also have an extra large tea mug. I drink a lot in the morning because I'm fasting, it really helps stave off hunger.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/04/2016 09:08

Movement has returned to normal, but scales have sts, grr! I am on day 5 and have lost a grand total of 0.75 of a pound. Woe! Am I supposed to be doing 10,000 steps? I haven't got a pedometer, but I seriously doubt I manage that most days. How much walking is that? Half an hour? An hour?

mootime · 07/04/2016 09:48

Not2B - I often find that it goes in whooshes and plateaus. Also somehow it feels like the half stone barriers seem harder to get through. But that might just be psychological!

AGteach - enjoy your meal out. I try to have gin and slimline when out, partly because I don't neck it in the same way, but also its lower carb and cal. Although I know diet pop is not generally a good thing!

SPutnik - I have some linen trousers exactly like that!

Tooextra - 10k steps is recommended. I try and work none into the day by walking to work and meetings. It's much harder on days like today where I have 3 small kids as they don't want to walk that far!

I'm having a lazy day today. It's been a manic week at work and I'm zonked. Eldest DS is not feeling great and so I've decided that one day of the hols with the TVs as a babysitter is not the end of the world!

I'm aware that it's going to be harder to fast though. I may even aim to allow myself 1000.. I've already wasted cals on milk as I just needed a propper coffee without bloody almond milk in it!!

Might check the carb count on the 5:2 diet gammon and baked beans dish for supper as the thought of that will keep me going!

Sputnik · 07/04/2016 09:53

Cheddar you don't have to do 10000 steps but it helps. I sprained my ankle 2 weeks into this and couldn't walk at all, but still managed to lose.

Have you calculated your TDEE and are you counting all your calories eaten? This can help you work out if what you're losing is in line with what you should be expecting. If you haven't too much to lose then weight loss is going to be slower because the energy you use every day is also lower.
