Hi there, Im one of the 'old original' 5:2ers who started way back in August 2012 and lost 24lbs..

I maintained for over a year and was active on the Maintainers thread , but sadly since last summer/Autumn, ive backslid.. Now I'm 12lbs up off my lowest weight again Sad

I know what to do , I know it works , but I can hardly say I should be on the 'maintainers' again. So im posting a new thread here , in the hope that I may find some other backsliders willing to recommit along with me before it's too late ..

Come and join me again before its too late.. We can regroup and get back on track.. I'm still managing to squeeze into my sz 10s (mostly) but I cant afford a new wardrobe, I dont want to buy a larger one.. and I certainly do want to get back to what I was (and maybe finish the job properly with another half stone off , so I can rejoin the Maintainers and comfortably say that this WOE is really this time going to stay with me for life..

So anyone with me? .. I have fasted today (first one for ages) .. WE CAN DO IT AGAIN!!

Lurgy is on its way out, thank goodness. Though feeling rather exhausted this morning after waking up at 4.15 thinking I could hear strange sounds in / around the house and couldn't get back to sleep.
Someone shout at me at around 2.00 and make sure I'm still awake? Grin
Anyway... FD for me and after an hour long dog walk in the cold I am starving
Not ideal. Am going to go and parcel up Christmas presents to send to keep my hands occupied for half an hour Smile

hello everyone,

Tuesday is supposed to be my FD but my PIL are down today and so its just not going to happen. Will try and have a small lunch as we will be going out to dinner tonight. I will be needing PLENTY of wine to get me through the evening!

I weighed myself for the first time in about 5 months and it wasn't as bad as I though it would be. I thought I would be over 13 stone, but in fact I am 12.2. So, happy days, but still, would like to be 11 stone or under...

Aargh, that's really good news - nowhere near as much to lose as you thought Smile
FD has been going ok, if you discount the two chocolate digestive biscuits I inhaled at about 10.30 this morning.
Planning on a veggie burger and salad for tea later and if I've got the energy, a toning class. But due to stupid wake up time today I'm not too hopeful on that score!
Hope your dinner with the PILs goes ok!

oops to the biscuits but keep going dotty -glad to hear you're starting to feel better.

therealamanda - it's as if it's impossible for me to lose weight in the pre menstrual phase -my body just will not let go! Grin

hoping i'll get my period and be able to get back on it for a couple of weeks and shift a bit more. might have to accept that my cycle for fasting is bigger than week and aim to do a couple of longer fasts a month (in the post menstrual, pre ovulation stage) rather than short fast/reduced calorie days a week.

we'll see. trial and error i guess

Honey, yes think you have to make it work with your body. I seem to be 4lbs heavier than this time last week Shock and I'm sure at least some of that is down to TOTM which is due to arrive tomorrow.

So, plans to go to toning class were abandoned after DS came out of school complaining of bad headache and feeling sick. I did tea a bit later to give him chance to perk up, fed him and now he seems absolutely fine, but it's too late to get to my class! Grrr.

On the plus side, I've just had my double quorn burger and side salad and so even with the biscuits I should be within 500 cals. Phew.
Might have a bath later to keep me well away from the kitchen Smile

How's everyone else's day gone?

Hi all, I'm back (again Blush) I've been unable to get back on track for so long. So really really piled on an uncomfortable amount of weight. Managed a mini fast today of around 850 cals and over the last 3 days managed to keep the cals around 1300. It's been easy enough but I think it's cause I truly hit rock bottom, pretty much nothing fits and I refuse to buy bigger clothes. Nfd tomorrow and the another fd which I'll try to nudge down to 750 and so on until by next week I'm back on 500-600 FDs. Going to skip back a few pages to get my head back in the zone! Hope everyone's doing good?

Hi, All, I have just checked out this thread because I was sitting here wondering how something that was so easy 2 years ago has become a distant memory. I was one of the originals and seeing you here Laska42 gave me the boost I needed to post and commit. I found the 18:6 or even 20:4 really easy. I hit target weight quickly and maintained for ages. Then I moved house and moved job 6 months ago and it all started to slide.

Now I've got to start again and I have the first lurgy I've had since I started fasting. Coincidence? Probably, but anyway, here goes. I'm starting today. Thanks for being here.

Fasting today for me. Anyone else?
I over ate yesterday, which I think I have a tendency to do before a FD. But really my priority is just to do the Fds properly, twice a week.

That sounds like a good, sensible plan not2obvious, though you do know that your proper FDs will then coincide with Christmas week? Smile Though that might actually be a good thing1

scattergun welcome on board. I'm similar, found it relatively easy when I did it originally. This time, boy it's hard! My downfall is overeating on NFDs and also saboataging my FD's by evening binges. Last night I distracted myself after dinner with a bath, which really did help. Now that winter's well and truly arrived, I may do that more often Smile

NFD for me today but have jacket potatoes and salad planned in for evening meal so if I can steer clear of evening temptation, I should be easily in TDEE.

just checked my diary and i'm on day 28 of cycle so it does all fit.

just haven't given a damn the last few days but really don't think i've eaten excessively and kept up long food breaks as thats natural to me anyway. i have been allowing myself beer though. may brave the scales in the morning just to get an idea of where i'm at before period to see what happens after itms.

good luck to everyone - still here cheering from the sidelines.

FD for me today and I'm rather headachey (TOTM) so not feeling my best. Hoping to get through ok till teatime when I'm having some roasted chicken breast with veggies.

Yesterday i had a can of mulligatawny soup and, embarrassingly, a large spoonful of the kids' spag bol. Blush
As soon as I am preparing food its really tough.
Your Fd food sounds v healthy.

It is hard to prep food for some members of the family whilst eating something else yourself. I'm having the same as the children today, except they get Yorkshire puddings and I don't!

Hi all. I was supposed to but ended up a good bit over so let's call it a weak mini fd, under 1200 so mfp is moaning about lack of calories but if mfp could see my ass it would probably agree it's no harm! I'm still considering it a success as I'm nearly 5 pound lighter than I was a week ago since I reeled the eating back in and starting doing a few walks. I need to get back to decent exercise but I'm pleased at least I'm getting back in the zone. No wine for 3 days this week which has been the longest I've managed in the last 3 months. Winning Grin

Dotty, I slipped into exactly that pattern when it all seemed too easy. Eating too much in the evenings, in particular. Two days in and I haven't managed to re-kindle the enthusiasm I had previously. I shall spend some time reading posts and try to find the old resolve. Although, what was good before was that it seemed not much resolve was needed.

yay for weight loss thereal. i lost 6lbs in the first week-10days then stalled BUT i have finally got my period and my god is it a relief Grin hoping weight will magically just fall off of me now. deluded? me? Shock

Arghh I totally hear you, I've been the same for weeks, take baby steps if you can, mini challenges like no eating between meals, plenty of water, kitchen closed after dinner. So bloody hard if you're not in the "zone" but fake it til you make it!
Thanks TheReal , even better news this morning, I weighed in at 12.8.2 last Friday....drumroll....down to 12.1.6 this morning!!!! Whoop whoop. Now I just need to not f**k it up over the weekend AND I've a night out tonightConfused No doubt I'll have a shocking hangover that will scream for carbs, wtf to do wise folk??

Happy Monday all. Been a very quiet weekend here, hope everyone's had a great weekend? Been as mindful as I could not to ruin my efforts of last week, had a pretty decent stab at it even with a raging hangover on Saturday, still managed a 5 mile walk, I reckoned it couldn't make me feel any worseGrin
Was meant to be out for dinner tonight but it's been cancelled so it'll be an FD instead. Going to do today and Wednesday as have 4 days of parties/family get togethers after that. Anyone joining me today? Going to breakfast on a skinny cappuccino then a brisk walk before lunch. Also about to brave the scales, see if the weekend wine is clinging on, usually does so not expecting miracles, more hopeful that by Thursday the scales will show a drop, although I can't expect much after 6.6 last week. Have a great day all

Have caught up on several weeks entries on this thread - you are all doing so well! I promised myself I wouldn't post until the scales were showing less than 9 1/2 stone, and hooray! today they do but only just .
Still a stone to go to target but 4 months to get there before our holiday in Antigua, so the more I can do before Christmas the better!
Have just been to Kettlercise class - love it!! Feel energetic and ready for a good fast day. Nothing to eat so far, miso soup planned for lunch then chicken and vegetables later.
