Feel very anxious about tomorrow's lack,of food!

Here's my plan

Breakfast : 1 crumpet with a smidge of spread and cup of tea 130 cals

Lunch: 2 Aldi sesame crackers, slither of ham and satsuma 120 cals

Dinner: tin of Baxters scotch broth soup 130 cals, yoghurt 90 cals

2 cups of tea during day.

Does this sound good?

It sounds like my first day. I relied on foods that had the calories printed clearly on the outside.

what works best for me (hunger wise) is this

2 scrambled eggs for breakfast - eaten as late as possible. 180
One diet yoghurt -55

then two pieces of cod 160, about 10 chopped up cherry tomatoes, garlic clove chopped up, a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar. A desert spoon of frozen peas.

OneMoreCupOfTeaFirst · 10/06/2013 20:36

Tesco do bags of frozen pieces of fish with the cals on the side.

MarcelineTheVampireQueen · 10/06/2013 20:39

I really need to join you op, have you made a plan or areyou winging it?

BaconAndAvocado · 10/06/2013 20:47

Hi marceline I'm completely winging it!

I've no idea how it'll pan out tomorrow, but I love the idea that its "just for one day" and if I can't manage that there's got to be some thing wrong!

Started diet today with a "feast" day and don't think I was too far under 2000 cals!

I love my fitness pal smartphone app for calorie counting. You can type in the food and it will be listed, or scan barcode on the packet.

Genius.

There is a support thread somewhere

BellaVita · 10/06/2013 20:53

This is my third week now and I must admit I get quite a buzz out of it.

I also do My Fitness Pal and it is Shock how food adds up.

My fast days are Wed and Fri. I drink lots of peppermint tea. I am normally a huge coffee drinker but have found I am not missing it at all and just have two cups now with skimmed milk.

MarcelineTheVampireQueen · 10/06/2013 22:18

How have you found it Bella?

Anjou · 10/06/2013 23:40

I've decided to start tomorrow too! MFP is brilliant for totting up calories consumed & burned isn't it? Trying to put together a menu with only around 500 calories (that doesn't make you want to cry) is tricky. According to MFP, this should come in just under 500;

Breakfast
Apple
Cream cracker with marmite
2pints of water
Black coffee, no sugar

Lunch
'Smoothie' of half a cucumber, stick of celery, an apple, mint, juice of 1 lime & iced water.
Handful of peas
1 oatcake

Dinner
60g of pasta
1 tsp olive oil
7 cherry tomatoes
A few pine nuts
Loads of basil

I'm going to have a pint of water each time I pass the tap & have at least 2 pints with each 'meal'. I'm also going to look at my flabby tummy & remember how lovely and toned it was before DS2 each time I have a hunger pang!

Good luck for tomorrow everyone! Smile

BellaVita · 11/06/2013 08:04

Marceline, I have found it quite easy tbh.

MFP helps a lot. I love fruit and this is where a lot of my calories were going previously. I have really had to curb the bananas and mangoes Sad. A kiwi fruit is something like 46 calories and if you have two at a time like me then it is a slippery slope.

On a fast day I will have Total 0% yoghurt with a few blueberries, lunch will be a can of weight watchers soup, dinner the same or maybe some salad and a small portion of chicken breast. I will use 100ml of skimmed milk for a couple of coffees and then I will drink peppermint tea.

Who knew though that a packet of stir fry veg has about 135 cals in it?Shock

I do go to the gym and if I fancy a banana on my fast day, I will just make sure I burn off those calories on the treadmill. I usually try and burn around 300 on the treadmill each time.

My clothes are fitting loads better already.

BaconAndAvocado · 11/06/2013 11:49

Well..... So far so good, have had crumpet and smidgen of spread and 2 cups of tea.

Going to leave lunch as late as I can.

Think I will find the time after the school run up,to,dinner time the hardest!

AlmostHadItAll · 11/06/2013 12:07

This is my first day too! Shall we hold hands Smile

So far I have had one banana and two cups of black coffee. It's lunch time in the office, so I'm away to have a low fat yoghurt. Dinner tonight is an Asda frozen cod fillet with Asda frozen Mediterranean chargrilled veg. My calorie found on My Fitness App says 473 Grin

That's if I make it through the day as planned of course!

SauvignonBlanche · 11/06/2013 12:09

I'm starting on Monday, can anyone recommend a on-line tracker?

BsshBossh · 11/06/2013 12:18

MyFitnessPal is an excellent online tracker, and it has an app for smartphones too. Good luck!

SauvignonBlanche · 11/06/2013 12:19

Thank you! Grin

BaconAndAvocado · 11/06/2013 19:49

Used up all my 500 cals and still got an evening to get through, heeelp!

I keep telling myself its only a matter of hours and tomorrow I can eat normally, but its still hard!

An early night perhaps?

OP posts:
Cat98 · 11/06/2013 19:54

Hello! It's my first day too. Had melon, 2 boiled eggs, a celery stick, salmon and cauliflower today. Used up my cals I think - not looking forward to getting through the eve on just mint tea!
Well done all, we can do this..

BellaVita · 11/06/2013 20:10

Brush your teeth and have an early night.

Or you could do yourself a hot water and lemon?

BellaVita · 11/06/2013 20:12

Cat, get yourself logged on to MyFitnessPal, you can keep track of your calories then.

BaconAndAvocado · 11/06/2013 20:26

I'm drinking my final cup of (without a biscuit!!) tea, which I'd actioned into my 500 cals.

I'm really really enjoying it!

Dreaming of tomorrow morning and a breakfast of 2 crumpets with butter, cup of tea and 2 choccy digestives.....lunch, a fried egg sandwich perhaps and dinner will be steak and new potatoes......it'll definitely be worth the wait.

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 11/06/2013 20:28

A handful of jelly babies wouldn't go amiss either.....you can see how I got myself into this mess can't you Smile

OP posts:
Anjou · 11/06/2013 21:00

Well done all those that got through today! I found it easier than I thought .... so far! Next fast day may not be so easy. I had;

Iced black coffee
Cucumber/celery/apple/lime/mint/ginger smoothie
Cream cracker with marmite
Asda Good For You Thai chicken soup
Oatcake
3 x jasmine tea
About 7 pints of water!
433 calories in all, apparently.

Went for a 3 mile walk but other than that had a quiet day as my 2 year old is in nursery so just had my 4 month old.

Really hope I can keep it up! Smile

BellaVita · 11/06/2013 21:18

My fast day is tomorrow and Friday. On normal days I stick to 1200 cals, which is very easy to use up...

Yay well done Anjou, Cat, Almost and Bacon.

BellaVita · 11/06/2013 21:19

DS2 is currently sat here eating hot choc fudge cake and cream Envy

Purpleprickles · 11/06/2013 22:45

Can I join? It's my first day tomorrow and I'm excited and nervous. I'm also horrified by my waist measurement as I forced myself to do it tonight. My friend has done 5:2 for a week and has given me the courage to go for it. I'm planning on having a small banana for breakfast, slice of brown toast for lunch and a weight watchers ready meal for dinner. I will branch out to proper cooking but just want to get myself kick started with no stressing about measuring and counting too much.

Anjou · 11/06/2013 23:16

Good luck for tomorrow, Prickles! Smile
