Starting a new thread as we filled up the old one!

DC 17 is in 6th season with NYMT. Also former BYMTer.

These annual threads have been a source of advice, emotional support and camaraderie for those of us with young performers enjoying everything that these awesome organisations bring.

Tough for your DS. I guess there was no way to do it and involve everybody. There will hopefully be other chances to do fun things.

Yes definitely! We entirely understand they absolutely couldn’t fit everyone in, especially with such a short time slot. I think he’s more disappointed not to be able to go and support them all. Such a great opportunity to showcase everything!

I'm excited for them! Really enjoying the NYMT insta footage of soundchecks and rehearsals.

Hope the Famers are having a great time! DC musician dropped off yesterday and excited to watch a stagger through of Act 1 last night!

Fame seems to be going well so far! Only limited information from DS but there’s a cast member who posts on YouTube and I’ve seen him on there so I know he’s alive 😂. Hope everyone has a great summer season with NYMT and BYMT

Hello, can I ask a question about summer camps? DD is going to the York one next week, and has asked me how many other kids will be there.

Anyone have a rough idea of numbers?

Anyone else’s kids on here on the advanced workshop week in Kent next week?

Yeah - It's my DS who does the YouTube stuff! Hope there aren't too many spoilers, but it's the best way we've found to keep up with what he's doing, and know that he's ok!! DD is also there this year for her first NYMT experience as an ASM for Fame. She finds time to phone every day - her brother.... Radio Silence! 😂

Should also say that he's doing ensemble in Carousel this year too, so will probably have video updates for that too. (He does check with everyone at the start of the rehearsal process if they are ok to be included in the videos - they usually end up recording their own content and sending it to him to be included!) But if there's anyone not happy to be included, they can just let him know

He’s fab! Glad it’s not just my DS who is so lax about getting in touch 😂. They all seem to be having a good time

We’re getting periodic requests for money from DD. She seems to be having the time of her life with BYMT.

Yes - looks like a day off today as various coffee / junk purchases noted on the bank app! Not much by way of actual texts though…

Glad to hear that everyone is having fun. I am in Birmingham until next Friday with DD and am currently watching all the building work outside the Bull Ring. I haven’t been here in about 15 years and it has changed quite a bit!

I'm afraid I've lost track. Is your DD in Fame? As a stage performer, or a musician? Or are you there for a totally different reason?! Come and see the show if so!

Hi @Biscuitsneeded my DD is a musician in Carousel but she is here for the next two weeks doing her intake training for NYT - it’s a busy month for her! Sadly we can’t make it to Fame as Saturday is the only day we can go and is sold out - which is great news!

OMG how great was Fame!? Absolutely blown away (again)…

I hope she has a great time at NYT then - and that she enjoys Carousel when it comes around too!
