@Thinkingofthings Check your junk mail. Results from yesterday may not all be out yet but I suspect your DD is correct that they would have intended to send them today. I hope you hear soon.

Anyone know when musicians might hear? We've heard nothing yet 😕

They tend to cast the shows first and then get on to musicians not too long after that. Don't worry, you haven't missed any emails.

One of the reasons they cast the shows first are because of Easter rehearsals. Musicians (apart from the assistant MD) are not needed for Easter rehearsals.

@Advent0range regular muso mum over here. We always have a slightly longer wait. But usually hear something within a couple of weeks of the casting being completed.

Various reasons- as @Comefromaway said, there are no Easter residentials so less urgent.

Also, MD's have limited bandwidth as most are also working professionally, so they focus on one aspect at a time.

Lastly, there are a few like mine (not many but a few) kids who apply as both actors and as musicians so they see how the casting shakes down first.

Entirely understandable. I don't think they would keep you waiting too long for news after casting is finished. If you have a clash, you can always let them know ahead of decisions being made.

We've still not heard! Nothing in junk mail. We do know someone else who went on sunday and as of yesterday they hadn't heard either. Wouldn't normally expect to hear so soon but just aware that any recalls are this weekend. Fingers crossed won't be much longer!

Just heard - she's been recalled for Crescendo. Is this more of a workshop? Don't really understand what it is! I can see it's not one of the actual productions. I know they get given either a workshop or a show opportunity- guessing this is the workshop option? Can anyone shed some light?

Crescendo IS a show! It's not a full week run but it will be performed to a paying audience in a professional theatre. Last year's Crescendo was fabulous. Have a look at the NYMT website for more info...

Ah thank you! I couldn't quite work it out as it's different to the others. She's excited to be recalled!

Can anyone give insight into possible outcomes if you've been invited to a recall for all the new musical workshops? Just so I can set expectations (we're newbies this year so this is quite the learning curve!)

@Thinkingofthings congrats to your DD!! My daughter did Crescendo last year and it was amazing. She got so much from it!! Definitely recommend!! My DS recalled for it this year too!!

We are in the same situation as you. First time and not sure what to expect of the New Musical Workshops callbacks. We’ve found the material on the recall email but it only looks like a song to learn - no script. Is this what you have found?

Yes, just lyrics and song, no script that we can see in the folder.

Congrats to your DC! I don't know for certain, but I think potential outcomes would be either a place in a workshop, or a skills course.

Thanks @Biscuitsneeded - we went into this with no expectations (actually didn’t realise what it was all about just thought it would be a nice day of acting, singing and dancing as a workshop, not a proper audition! 😊) so will continue with the light messaging of ‘go, have fun and learn from different directors and people’.

Exactly that. If your DC enjoyed the first round audition there's every chance they'll like the recall too - plus they will get to meet some different creatives, as you say. Hope your DC has a great time.
