Starting off a new thread for 2025 now that both organisations have opened applications for next season!

Evening all, been a bit of a lurker here. Have gleaned so much great info. So huge thanks to all the nymt vets. My DS has been recalled for Lightning Boy and Crescendo. Has been in nymt new musical a few years back but hasn’t auditioned since. Thought he would throw himself into it this year. We know he’s at that funny age as he’s just turned 15. So all fingers are crossed for either show. Any chance anyone knows when we are likely to get the material for the recalls? He’ll be heading there on 15th so it’s feeling quite soon…Will they wait until the 10th?

Hi @Lionelblair , and welcome. Congrats to your DS on his recall! The material usually gets sent out about a week beforehand. It isn't usually too much to contend with, and the recallees aren't expected to learn any script. There may be a bit of singing to prepare - often you are given an audio track (piano backing track and then a piano with vocals version) to help learn the song if it's a new show. I'd keep tracking this thread, as I'm sure people will start to post as and when they receive materials. Good luck!
