I'm assuming its a no. I always knew it was a very long shot. It would just be nice to know one way or the other in order to move on.

@comefromaway I would recommend phoning up. You may be completely wrong. My DD has just had an offer from BYMT after a very long wait. Apparently they had mislaid her details and she was one of the highest scorers in the auditions. Definitely follow it up.

Hi *@DalekFan* we heard and as expected it was a no. She knew she hadn't done very well. She had already moved on to some local auditions that came up. Good luck to everyone waiting and who got parts. I'll hang around to see how everyone is getting on x

Musicians - how many musicians are in each production usually? Just curious as to what it would be like

It totally depends on the requirements of the score (and for shows like Hunchback which version they use). Ds reeled off the instrumentation and number of instruments required for the currently available licensed version of Hunchback (including which percussion might be done on a keyboard) and it was quite large.) I know the MD on that show is very keen on big orchestrations having had a twitter geeky conversation on the reduction of the orchestra from Wicked on Broadway to Wicked on the West End!

@Newgirls in 2019 there were 9/10 (including MD) in each show. I think they are using a few more for Hunchback.

It also depends on room in the pit too I guess!

9-10 sounds good - good sound but also a small team working together

So what do we think? If we don’t hear today, will we be waiting until Monday? Or do they work over the weekend? I’d really like to get rid of this horrid anxiety in the pit of my stomach...

Out of interest those who have applied for a musician place, what instrument have they applied with/for?

I’m not sure anything will happen over the weekend normally...
Obviously it didn’t over Easter weekend but that’s different I guess.
Who knows! They do have a tendency to send things late in the day rather than early mind you.

Congratulations to all of those with offers and I hope there is news very soon for those still waiting.

We've also now had a musician offer for NYMT - not sure I can afford to do both, but breaking down the fees keen to do one as I do believe they are great value. Is there anyone on here who has done both NYMT and BYMT who can advise the pros / cons of each , particularly for a younger player (12)? The dates will work for each one, even the longer NYMT - slightly concerned about the Air BnB option on accommodation with the NYMT at the end.

This is our first year of hearing of this opportunity and it sounds amazing, particularly considering the lack of ensemble opportunities over the last 12 months. Wish there had been something like this when I was young.

AHHH the suspense is unbelievable !! Congrats to all the musicians who have heard positive news so far and commiserations to those who haven't got in this year. We still have no news of any performers hearing news yet. Praying we don't have to wait over the weekend :-(
