No they heard before Henrietta heard but I know of loads of (very talented) people for Billy who haven’t heard yet.

For all those still waiting...good luck. Whatever the outcome, use the experience and build on it. DD has been doing this for years....it becomes an annual, event and your turn will come!

Billy The Kid still a bit mysterious. We have heard of some roles being offered but it isn't clear if they have all been communicated yet or if ensemble is still to come.

What do you mean by 'all been communicated yet'? Not sure what this meant..perhaps its my nervous delirium kicking in lol

@lolacharlie43 Well we know of 4 or 5 individuals cast in Billy who received emails earlier this evening. What I don't know is if the other 24ish cast members are just people we don't know, but have all already heard, or whether NYMT have only emailed the leads and there are a few more emails still to come.

@Biscuitsneeded thanks for that. We have been on tenderhooks all day and the others we know who are in for it haven't heard anything either. There has been no word on social media either so its really hard to gauge

@lolacharlie43 Ah well, maybe they haven't done all the Billy emails yet. In my experience NYMT wouldn't deliberately leave anyone with no news. Got to say though, I did prefer the old system where they sent the nos first!

Agree with you on that one @Biscuitsneeded. The old system was much better. At least people were put out of their miseries, so to speak, early instead of waiting around and assuming it would eventually be a no.. ah well still keeping everything crossed here for a while longer. Congrats to everyone who has been successful so far this year.

Just found this (and the other!) thread doing frantic googling after seeing some on Twitter had news! I wish I'd found you all sooner, what I've read of the threads has been so lovely and supportive!

We're waiting on Henrietta news for DS (15) I'm quite sure that no news is bad news at this point but trying to remain hopeful

@Biscuitsneeded has your DS heard himself yet? I know from the threads how much NYMT means to him!

@allhailthebrain No he hasn't! He's OK if it's a no - he's had a fantastic run and he knows how lucky he's been. But thanks. This waiting room is really supportive and actually the antithesis of the stereotype about pushy stage parents. I think we should all have a little drink to that.

@Biscuitsneeded that is so so true. I'm so happy for all this good news and I really hope it continues. Very frustrating for those who haven't heard today!

Do you think it's because we've been told we have to accept within 24 hours and they want those responses? It's possible, if it was close with some of these parts...

@allhailthebrain I think the 24 hours is standard every year, to be honest. I don't really think it's because they are anticipating a whole load of people saying no thanks, and needing to keep several kids on the back burner as reserves. As far as we know, nobody at all has had a no yet - for whatever reason, they've decided to do the yeses first. Maybe because they felt the need to get the news out there ASAP before the people they wanted committed to anything else. I'm not going to be too critical because, hey, it's a pandemic and they are moving heaven and earth to get shows to happen - and nothing is happening the normal way because there is no normal. Hopefully they will tie up all the loose ends tomorrow and the kids won't have to wait until Monday for full confirmation.

@Biscuitsneeded yes I do hope it isn't all weekend for the rest of the replies!

Mine actually didn't make the shows last year - but was bumped up from workshop to show a few days later...

Hi all, literally just came across this thread and it’s great to know I wasn’t the only psychotic email refresher/YouTube views checker (speed reading all the last thread and this) My DD 17 cast Hunchback Ensemble, and DD 11 over the moon to have been cast as Henrietta 💚 I think our very favourite teacher is here 👋🏻 Congrats to everyone who was successful, and hugs to everyone who wasn’t this time (I can sympathise as DD 14 didn’t get through either) Would be really great to get to know you all, especially for DD 11 heading away from home for the first time 😬

Well nothing further came at midnight (it has been known before!) so unless it went only to DS, who will be asleep for hours yet, I am assuming it's a no. I'm sure NYMT will be in touch to say so officially pretty soon. Huge congrats to all those cast - they are about to have the very best time imaginable.
