Starting a new thread for NYMT / BYMT hopefuls in 2021.

DD13 is auditioning for NYMT for the second time as stage performer and as musician. We just received an invite to the next round (online workshops).

She was gutted that Covid put a stop to her show (Imaginary) last year so we are keeping everything crossed that she gets another shot.

We've also booked a BYMT audition and she's already in the musician pool there so hopefully a show of some sort this year if we get some kind of normality back again...

Anyone else out there?

I'm so sorry, I was really hopeful for you. I do think that BYMT seem to have handled things better from what I can see.

I think it really would have been kinder to do all the no’s together.

My son was on the first audition day and still nothing but I expect it will now be a no.

@Operagirl1 BYMT results will come out gradually over the next week or so, they started on Friday.

I noticed BYMT have extended their auditions up to the end of June!!!

I think the couple of you who haven't heard anything should possibly follow up with NYMT today using the enquiries@ address. Double check your junk mail first, but maybe a letter got mistyped in your email address, or something.

I chased and got a no. Having been cast in Kiss me Kate last year I think it’s disappointing to not get to the recall stage but I think I’ll be more hurt than him.

So sorry to hear. What had happened to the email, did they forget? So awful for you not being told earlier and getting your hopes up, especially after last year😥 I'm surprised as they are usually so organised.

They apologised but not sure what happened. I guess with 800 emails some will go wrong eh?

A good nights sleep has done wonders for the outlook in this house. DD is far more resilient than me, and has taken it all in her stride. She is still very keen for a musician place, and is feeling hopeful about BYMT and of course knows she has a musician place with them already.

Of course, 'No' is a word we have and will hear a lot choosing to follow this path. And that's ok. I just wish we'd heard ours last week with everyone else. Still, lesson learned.

Genuinely thrilled for those on here receiving good news, and looking forward to hearing how you all get on with re-calls!

Now, bring on the NYMT musician and BYMT news please!!!!

Need BYMT to get their emails out, we just need to know one way or the other! Seeing more audition dates is a bit concerning though 🤷‍♀️

Slight disaster. Daughter was told at first workshop beginning of January that she would hear in a month. Did hear anything obvs til this week so has arranged something else then got callback this week

@Katherine3 that's tough. Is it worth doing the recall to see what happens, or is she committed to the something else now?
