Another attempt for consistency on my yoga practice. Huge benefits when I do ,the accountability on previous threads has helped tremendously. But I’ve lapsed, and can feel the stiffness creeping back. Any support welcome

i do yoga most week day mornings. Usually Charlie follows (because an American accent first thing in the morning is more than I can cope with). I run a lot so I’m often a bit decrepit in the morning and yoga helps me to free up.

Yogachick · 30/07/2026 19:25

Greetings @Whataninterestinglookingpotato I used to run but a prolapsed disc has put paid to that. I try to walk at speed to get the same / similar benefits but def need more yoga to keep things moving freely

I do yoga or Pilates almost everyday - if thats ok, id like to join.
im going away for two weeks in august so i will need some motivation to keep going while im away!
Im a member of a yoga/pilates studio and rarely do it online… i like to vary the styles as well…
Today was Pilates
Tomorrow i’m booked for yoga flow

TheVeryThing · 30/07/2026 21:18

I'm in. Starting 3 weeks annual leave and not going away so hoping to (re-)start some good habits. Need to decide who to follow though.

Frugal25 · 30/07/2026 22:06

I'm in! I do yoga classes weekly but never at home and I should. Also home for 6 weeks so a good kick start to home practice. I've not heard of Charlie follows so shall take a look.

Yogachick · 31/07/2026 19:15

Welcome all! @TheVeryThing , there’s lots of great teachers online. YouTube has a huge library of free practices to choose from. I’ve found Charlie Follows to be less talky, her cueing is immaculate and she offers alternatives as she goes along, demonstrating each. She also has weekly playlists. Adriene is a more talky vibe, talks about modifictions but rarely demonstrates. She has a lovely chill way, loads of practices, inc the OG 30 days of yoga series, various themes. Sarah Beth and Kassandra both have 10 min series, super helpful if you’re short of time or ‘encouraging’yourself to the mat. That’s a few off the top of my head,I’m sure others can offer more.
@Placestogo I’m sure you’ll find some options to keep you moving. I’m not au fait with Pilates practices though I believe Kassandra has a Yogalates series which might prove helpful x
@Frugal25 I find yoga benefits to be cumulative so if you can a lot a little more into your life easily there is certainly no downside.I get bored ,which is my excuse for dipping out but that’s a poor excuse, there are many 5/10 min practices out there. I believe @yogaflow from a previous thread has a brilliant consistent run with lots of variety. I’m in awe.
Day 2. Another CF,from her weekly playlists,15 min morning flow, done in the evening as I’ve been busy. I would’ve copped out,it’s been a busy day(on day 2- shame on me as the thread person!)but youve all joined on the quest ,you’ve helped me already just by doing that & I feel better for the practice 🌻

Hi all,
yesterday was yoga flow and today was pilates with kettlebells. It is very hard but i want to be stronger and the weights help me achieve that.
im working towards handstand and i need more core and arm strenght.
im wiiped out now! Going to the pub with friends to recharge! (Alcohol free beer for me please!)

i find working towards a specific goal, helps me keeping the motivation up…

Seahorse1978 · 01/08/2026 15:04

Great thread. I’m in. I have a yogaclass online subscription and I’ve not used it for a while. Need some motivation!

Yogachick · 01/08/2026 16:30

Sounds great @Placestogo well done!
welcome @Seahorse1978 ! What yoga subscription are you using?
Day 3 .I’m having a flare today so started with Adriene’s August calendar. My skin hurts with any pressure & I have a stupid amount of pain today so I struggled with even the 12 mins . There is always benefit though 🌻

I found that working out at home with little ones around hard which is why I don't....
But today I got my yoga dice out. Got DD to throw them and then we did the sequences together. I did have her jump on my back during a deep lunge. Which made it deeper .... But all good fun.
Really enjoyed this morning. Def a new routine to do.

Placestogo · 02/08/2026 11:56

60mins Yoga flow today - probably my favourite class of the week!
@Frugal25 my “little one” is 14 and as i am trying to woork my inversions/handstands, i do it in his bedroom (more space!) and we do it together and it is really fun
@Yogachick i am thinking of trying out “indaba yoga on demand” (free trial for the first 14 days then £12 a month). I like the variety of classes they offer but lets see. I’ll probably sign up just before going on holidays to make the most of the free trial. Hopefully i can do it with DS3 too - i hope your flare is better today

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 02/08/2026 12:03

hello. I’ve fallen off the yoga wagon big time and must get back it. So I’ll keep reading for inspiration and hopefully I’ll get motivated.
yes I remember yogaflow’s incredible running total

Yogachick · 02/08/2026 18:02

Great way to get a practice in @Frugal25 ! 60 mins yoga flow sounds wonderful @Placestogo,I’ve not heard of that app,let us know how it goes . I managed a 9 mins nervous system rest with Adriene for day 4. I’ve got 1 more day of my membership,I’m hoping to be able to do one of my favourites I’ll no longer have access to before I time out🤞🏻
hello again @Pinkfluffypencilcase 💐happy to see you here with me again. Hopefully you’ll be able to practice at some point but meanwhile this is a good vibes thread so soak it in x

@Frugal25 ive never heard of yogadice, what a great idea. I have also found it challenging to fit in yoga around my kids. I’m using yogaclass.co @Yogachick with Laura Dodd.

Yogachick · 03/08/2026 10:03

I did some of those lymph clearing exercises from Instagram first thing, I felt unclogged after ,which is a huge relief. I’m going to incorporate them into my daily routine in the hope of keeping the flares at bay.
i managed my favourite Adriene practice this morning after for Day 5- Fuego,44 mins of sweaty joy. Sadly it’s just on the membership though I have enquired about the possibility of purchasing a download. It’s really set me up for the day, wonderful after a couple of crappy days.🌟yoga!

Rest day today apart from a couple of stretches and sun salutations.

Yogachick · 04/08/2026 09:20

Another new one for me @Seahorse1978 ,please let us know your thoughts x
You hav a very full on program @Placestogo , freest days are important,a few sun salutations is great for working out the kinks though.
Day 2 of Lymph & Day 6. Tranquilo, the opposite practive to Fuego, the blurb says calming and flowing. I also found Fuego calming as I really got the breath. Tranquilo was also lovely with a good variety of asana, including half moon ,my favourite. I will be sad to lose these , her voice over practices like these are brilliant.

I did my standard 15 mins of yoga this morning. Just helping my poor stiff body loosen up after the gym last night and before running tonight.

Placestogo · 04/08/2026 21:20

I did a 75mins rocket yoga class for the 1st time today… loved it even though i was rubbish at it! It’s fast paced and very focused on inversions and other acrobatic poses… i can only get better if i return!

I am enjoying reading peoples updates and how yoga is part of our life in our own way.

Placestogo · 05/08/2026 09:26

Did a 50mims pilates with dumbbells classes. It was “easier” than usual but still very good
Now i am considering going to a flow classe this evening but my body is telling me to stop! Right elbow is very sore and im on my (very heavy) periods… i will rest..

Yogachick · 05/08/2026 09:56

15 mins a day is awesome @Whataninterestinglookingpotato ! I hope it oiled everything for your other activities x
Rocket yoga sounds brilliant for fitness and strength @Placestogo . I’m not sure I could manage a 75 min class, let alone such an athletic one. But we don’t progress if we don’t keep trying! You are super fit with the weighted pilates as well, well done for knowing when to rest as well,it’s something that is easily forgotten on fitness journeys.
Day 3 of Lymph/Day 7. Pilar power 35 mins today. Another one of my favourites from YWA app. Sweaty with lots of balancing, always my nemesis but more so with my dodgy leg on one side. I always move to a wall for support but still wobble🙄we’ve a breeze here today so a beautiful day. Have a good day all🌻

Yogachick · 06/08/2026 21:02

Day 4 of Lymph/8 of yoga.Brain & Body balance YWA 22 mins, another one of my favourites. Simple little practice with a nice wide legged forward bend, gets the blood to the brain, very energising!

Placestogo · 06/08/2026 21:44

Bliss class today - focus is on lenghtening/stretching - it was well needed! Plus there were a few compressions (pancake, single leg forehead to thigh). These will help me with handstands.

Yogachick · 07/08/2026 17:32

Bliss class sounds wonderful @Placestogo . Always great when there’s a few little extras even in a stretch class. No lymph today,Zumba class today so short of time. A PM practice for Day 9,YWA Recharge 30 mins. Not one I’ve done before & usually my instinct with more gentle is to go for as short a practice as I can but this one popped up at the time I needed it. I’ll repeat this one, dry beneficial
