Gym leggings that are not see through and are high waisted and don’t fall down?

Can people please recommend gym leggings, as above I like ones that are high waisted do that if my T-shirt rides up I am not flashing my belly, and squat proof, I used to like fabletics but the recent ones I have bought just aren’t the same as my old old ones.

I love the M&S ones. They're better than some branded ones I have.

Thank you both, would you say the sizing on these brands are fairly accurate?

Next ones are great and wash really well

Didyousaynutella · 15/04/2026 22:27

Weirdly the best leggings I have ever had are from ‘my protein’. I’ve got loads of them. Super flattering and have been through the wash a million times.

TheGardenPond · 15/04/2026 22:30

Sweaty Betty. Worth the money.

globalwondering · 15/04/2026 22:30

Another vote for MyProtien, they’re exactly what you described in your OP

ASOS 4505 the hourglass ones or bum sculpt ones are great. Opaque and sufficiently tight around the waist. Wash well too. Had mine for a few years now. In terms tops that don’t ride up, I shop for my gym tops in the men’s section. They’re long enough (think tunic) comfy and often better quality. They’re always on sale too.

Gagamama2 · 15/04/2026 22:31

Sweaty Betty full length power leggings. Sculpting, high waist, super flattering, completely non see through. Worth every penny

ReluctantSwimMum · 15/04/2026 22:32

Sweaty Betty "Power" styles.

Thank you all, lots of options for me to try!

Fabletics are rubbish now aren't they. The new ones last about two washes before the seam come loose. My older ones from there (when Kate Hudson launched it in the UK) are still holding strong. I hate it when brands change.

I've recently discovered LNDR - their leggings look tiny when you get them but they do not budge an inch. Expensive though.

Interested in the MyProtein leggings @Didyousaynutella. Are they compression/ firm hold type ones?

BamberGirl · 15/04/2026 22:38

I also like M&S and also Roxy (surf brand)

TheBlackDragon · 15/04/2026 22:42

Adanola are fab - I have lots of pairs. The flared ones are especially flattering.

BigBrownBoogyingBear · 15/04/2026 22:45

I have some cheap USA PRO ones from Sports Direct. They are high waisted. Comfortable. Definitely squat proof. Wash really well. I'd probably advise sizing up in comparison to normal clothes (I'm usually an XS/S but bought these in an M) - not sure how the sizing compares to other sports wear brands!

The following do not roll down on me:

Sainsbury's Reaktiv
Uniqlo
Nike

Yes I have loads of the original fabletics that I have worn/washed/dried multiple times a week at least the last 5 years and they still fit better and look better than the new ones or some of the other brand I have tried.

I love the Reactiv ones from Sainsburys. They are so comfy and wash well and I like the phone pocket on the side

Lavender14 · 15/04/2026 22:48

I love under armour leggings.

ExperiencedTeacher · 15/04/2026 22:49

I also came here to say Sweaty Betty Power. I never pay full price though- sales are good and often more than 50% reduction.

Yes, never found any like them-sometimes they have sales, and you can get them under £30. And they last way longer than any others I've tried, and many have pockets!
Gymshark are ok, but try first, as some of them have slippy fabric and you said staying up is priority.
Fanka are good in black, but the lighter ones I'd not wear for squats.
