30 min spin done. Really didn’t want to do it but it’s done! First 30 min one since August 2024

MummyInTheNecropolis · 18/06/2026 20:11

Haven’t posted for a few days as I have some sort of virus that’s knocked me off my feet, so haven’t done anything other than some short walks. Starting to feel a bit more human now so hoping I can get back to it at the weekend 🤞

Alittlefrustrated · 18/06/2026 20:59

60 mins aerobics class - hard and fast! 🥵
117/300

Alittlefrustrated · 19/06/2026 17:39

11.26 (yes every little bit counts 😂 ) miles walk. Lovely woodland and country park walk - though we started to flag a little in the last 20 mins. Probably as it was 25 degrees C 🥵
118/300

Comtesse · 19/06/2026 17:41

Yes I would say an 11.26 mile walk definitely counts, especially when it’s warm!

Yesterday - 11m yoga then 10m cardio then some strength work too. Keep on trucking!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 19/06/2026 20:12

Morning yoga (10 mins)
6k walk
2 shorter walks

18,000 steps

Not quite back to full strength but almost!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 20/06/2026 20:12

I went on a half day fitness retreat today - it was brilliant but hard work and my legs are feeling it now!

3.5k walk
3k run
HIIT (1 hour)
Stength and conditioning (1 hour)
Yoga (1 hour)

21,000 steps

I’m putting my feet up this evening!

WearyAuldWumman · 20/06/2026 20:28

Have realised I miscounted at one point - 100 was Wednesday.

Friday: Run Club. Warm-up, stretches, 1.30 running followed by walking; 3 minutes running; walking. Think we did 6 sets. This time, we had to run in and out of cones.

Senior Flex, 45 minutes: Cardio, stretches, upper body work with 3.7 kg weights. [Also sneaked in my Run Club upper body homework with weights before we started.] Squats and lunges too. Cool down and stretches.

101

Only did a bit of gardening today, but my arms got a good workout with the strimmer. Saw the osteopath today and she reckons that all the exercise has improved my knees.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 21/06/2026 17:48

Just walking today, too hot for anything else and still recovering from yesterday!

14,500 steps

Comtesse · 21/06/2026 18:16

Didn’t do much yesterday - 10m yoga stretches, 12m cardio - but did do some cycling and 10k steps too so not completely lazybones!

34m cheesy walking workout today, sooo sweaty - might do some yoga later too.

How are you feeling about the running @WearyAuldWumman? I know you were a bit ho hum about it to start with….

@Comtesse

I'm really enjoying it. I didn't think I'd manage any of it: even the tiny bit I've done is making me feel happy and more positive.

We start on slopes on Wednesday - think that might be problematic because of the dodgy knees, but I'll do what I can.

I'm the slowest in our very small group, but that's okay - I'm doing much more than I thought possible. The last two Mondays for my homework I've gone round the track on my own, just me, the track and the lapwings singing in the grass inside the track - really lovely.

stilldumdedumming · 21/06/2026 21:01

I have 2 lots of 60 x 25m swim to add and a 3 mile walk. Hardly anything today. It’s my birthday though!
Tomorrow we are on the wagon for a month at least as DP has a dodgy scan and fatty liver.

WearyAuldWumman · 21/06/2026 21:55

Hope you've had a lovely birthday, @stilldumdedumming .

Buntyforgirls · 23/06/2026 07:19

Monday- wk5r1 C25k and bedtime yoga. 17, 000 ish steps.

Will catch up on the thread, Enjoy the day, all!

Buntyforgirls · 23/06/2026 08:28

@MummyInTheNecropolis - your half day exercise retreat sounds fabulous!
@WearyAuldWumman you have done so well with your running, I am on week 5 of c25k and running similarly.
Impressed with everyone's enthusiasm and commitment. Very motivating, thank you all.

Comtesse · 23/06/2026 13:02

Yesterday - 10min cheesy walking and then 15min of isometric exercises. Keep on keeping on!

WearyAuldWumman · 23/06/2026 17:14

Forgot to update yesterday.

Run Club homework on the track: dynamic stretches; 90 seconds running; 90 walking; 3 minutes running, 3 walking; 90 seconds running, 90 walking; 3 minutes running, cooldown walking; static stretches.

Pilates, 45 minutes, mainly abdominals and thighs. 102

Last night I dropped something on the floor and was able to go down, retrieve it from under the armchair and stand up without struggling. Not much, but if you'd seen me 3 years ago...

45 minutes Musical Theatre Fitness class today, outside on the Astroturf. Felt like asking were we going to get to play rounders...The gym is only a few hundred yards from my old primary school and that was our treat when were lucky on a hot summer's day.

30 minutes Stretch Class inside, in the air conditioned studio. 103

MummyInTheNecropolis · 23/06/2026 19:57

Way too hot to move much today! Did my usual 6k walk to work before it was too hot but spent the evening flopped in front of a fan.

14,000 steps

Buntyforgirls · 24/06/2026 21:46

I managed a 1hour mix workout of strength and pilates/ yoga yesterday.

Today was a busy work day, but managed 10k steps and 45min yin yoga.

Think I'm going to set my daily steps on my tracker to a target of 11,000 and keep increasing.
Beautifully cool in the garden, now...

stilldumdedumming · 24/06/2026 21:48

My gym classes have gone up the spout a bit. But that should get back on track next week.
i have
Monday 44 x 25m swim
swim and reformer pilates
Tuesday core gym class, hard Pilates and yoga.
Today 60x25m swim and yoga.

stilldumdedumming · 24/06/2026 21:49

Yes it’s really cooled off now. But there’s a mugginess hanging around all ready to get hotter tonight

WearyAuldWumman · 24/06/2026 22:54

Run Club: the running sections were 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 5 minutes.

Gym: 3X20 shrugs with 18kg weights; 59 seconds, Farmer's carry.

Senior Flex,45 minutes - usual mix of stretches, squats, star jumps upper body weight exercises.

Active for Life: Sparc warm-up and cool-down; 6kg side raises; adductor and abductor, but lighter weights after the pulled hamstring.

Comtesse · 25/06/2026 12:27

Crumbs that’s a lot @WearyAuldWumman given the heat as well!

I’m in the red zone and it makes such a difference. I could really feel the impact on my usual cycle to work today. Take it easy people…..

Buntyforgirls · 26/06/2026 09:16

Kayaking yesterday, so lovely to be on the lake, with a breeze. Dog loved it too!
Also, an evening run/walk and 10 min upper body. Managed my new step target of 11,000k- increasing gradually.

Your running has increased rapidly @WearyAuldWumman - fab!

Early park walk with dog this morning.
Planning c25k run later in ac gym.
Enjoy the day everyone!

WearyAuldWumman · 26/06/2026 17:53

Yesterday, I tried just walking in Riverside Park where our Park Run is going to be, just to get a sense of the slopes. As is usual for me, downhill was more challenging than uphill. Shall just have to take my time. I'd like to be able to run the 5k, but I don't think that's realistic for me - it's probably going to be run-walk-run all the way.

Run Club was cancelled today because of the weather - a thunderstorm. I only read the notification that the club was cancelled just as I was heading out the door. In order to cope with the weather, I'd decided to be brave and wear my 6 inch shorts with my knee braces, my thinking being that they'd be more comfortable in the rain than leggings and easier to change out of for Senior Flex.

In my head, I was Lara Croft. In reality, I was more of an elderly Pansy Potter...

I did try to do the workout on a treadmill, but only managed two three minute runs: I just felt a bit unsafe compared to being on a hard surface. Managed some of the running with the requisite arm movements, but had to keep hanging onto the sides. I know it's psychological.

I used to have a lot of falls when I was a kid ( no orthotics, you see, and the built-up shoes made me go over on my ankles).

I'm actually more stable than I've been my life. Just need to think more positively.

Did do my dynamic stretches beforehand and my arm position exercises with 6 kg weights.

Had the usual 45 minute Senior Flex class using 3.7kg weights. Moved up to 7.5 kg weights for the low row.

Forgot to put down my count last time, so that was 102. Today: 103.
