Crossfits yesterday. Strict Pullups, which was good. (I'm trying really hard not to have too much of a petted lip about my significant decrease in that area after 6 months of Crossfit)
The workout was typical crossfit nonsense. 25 wall balls, then flat out row. 2 minutes on 2 minutes off for 5 rounds. I did the wallballs first round, but this proved to be unwise as I was completely redlined and struggled for the rest of the workout. I worked pretty hard and was tremendously relieved to get to the end. My peak on the row slightly impressed me though, 1850 cal/hour.
I also, with a heavy heart, cancelled my Crossfits membership. There's roadworks for three (3) months (ffs) which will add at least an hour to my weekly crossfits commute and it's just tipped the balance. I organise my entire week round driving to and from the gym my crossfit training as it stands, and spend about 4 hours driving to train for 3. I have three weeks left due to the notice period, then I'm going to train at the local wee gym until the roadworks are done.
I've cancelled Crossfit today. I looked at the workout and thought to myself 'would I rather drive for more than an hour total to do that*, or just take a walk up to the local gym before lunch and lift weights'. And the answer is, I'd rather pay an extra fiver (saving most of that in petrol by not driving!) and lift weights!
(500m row, 30 kettlebell swings, pushups to 4 minutes, two minutes rest. 6 times)
