This is to prove a guy who said parasites can make humans do stuff they dont want to. Which i think is rubbish. So i will save this thread, and make new post here in one year from now on. Here is what i look now in 08.04.2023

Oh forgot to mention, i have been eating unhealthy for years, thats why i wanted to prove that. So my diet will consist of "no soda, candy or snacks like potato chips for examples or outtake fast food, no cafe food or anything". Its just healthy breakfast (not juice), regular dinner, hot dogs for example and evening food. Just to have that covered here as extra info

It’s only the 7th 😆

I’m perplexed.

EasterEggBunny · 07/04/2023 23:54

I think your friend may have mental health issues if they believe parasites can make people do things.

Hot dogs are not a healthy food. The rest of your diet plan sounds sensible.

Good luck with it

AdoraBell · 07/04/2023 23:56

Good luck 🤞

It's nearly midnight, by the time most people read it it'll be the 8th 🤷 or maybe poster isn't in UK and it's already 8th

vipersnest1 · 08/04/2023 00:08

Errr, how are hot dogs healthy exactly?

That is a very good point.

However, I am still perplexed by the thread as a whole.

Bananavape · 08/04/2023 00:26

What?

Pixiedust1234 · 08/04/2023 00:29

😮

MoongazyHare · 08/04/2023 00:30

Nope. No idea. My cue to go to sleep, I think.

CrunchyCarrot · 08/04/2023 00:36

It's not that far-fetched (although The Last of Us springs to mind here!). There are some parasites that can do this - in insects!

Mind control - How Parasites Manipulate Cognitive Functions in Their Insect Hosts

Also from Wiki:

The protozoan Toxoplasma gondii, for example, infects small rodents and causes them to become careless and may even cause them to become attracted to the smell of feline urine, both of which increase their risk of predation and the parasite's chance of infecting a cat, its definitive host.

But I am not sure what you want to prove out of this post, OP. What behaviours do you think will be altered? That you will not stick to a new, healthier diet? You don't need a parasite to explain not being able to do so! Other biochemical explanations will suffice!

Neuro-parasitology is an emerging branch of science that deals with parasites that can control the nervous system of the host. It offers the possibility of discovering how one species (the parasite) modifies a particular neural network, and thus partic...

First of all. Last of Us is a terrible game. I mean was it Walking Dead 2012 game that made the zombie apocalypse stuff popular?.

In either case, the reason zombies are unrealistic is animals are primitive, they do primitive stuff. Sapient human despite being drunk on alcohol still has some sense of control. So its why its unrealistic and dumb theory to why its unreal scenario. Also i feel it glorifies poor people with guns is gonna solve problems rather than criticizing Reagen era of policies.

But its why i prefer Resident Evil because you can tell they add campy fun stuff in it because zombies is a concept thats not meant to be realistic or serious

If i wanted to watch sad people while having fun with it, i would go with Evangelion, good art but terrible plot.

But Soul 2020 movie is a good movie

I think you’re lost & you’re looking for Reddit?

Wereongunoil · 08/04/2023 01:51

X files?

The truth is out there

Barold · 08/04/2023 01:54

How is you going on a new diet going to prove anything about parasites?

GerronBuzanDoThaWomwok · 08/04/2023 01:57

Is your friend the parasite and you the kindly host?
You look very jolly, unless its intestinal parasites you're thinking of, which is a whole different ball game ...... as I found out when I was rushed into hospital in India 🙃😖

CrunchyCarrot · 08/04/2023 02:00

Last of Us is a terrible game - I wouldn't know, I was talking about the TV series. Didn't know it was a game, too!

was it Walking Dead 2012 game that made the zombie apocalypse stuff popular? No - zombies were popular long before the Walking Dead! Think back to Night of the Living Dead (1968) and even before that, White Zombie (1932)!

I'm not sure why we are talking about zombies. Is that what parasites are supposed to do to you? Will you be a zombie in one year's time?

GerronBuzanDoThaWomwok · 08/04/2023 02:00

"and evening food" is intriguingly cryptic, which gourmand possibilities are you thinking of, OP?

strawberryseed · 08/04/2023 03:13

I thought hotdogs had parasites in them? Or are you trying to catch some parasites? How will you know if you're doing things you don't want to do?

pickledandpuzzled · 08/04/2023 03:40

I think op may be talking about gut bacteria driving our appetite.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 08/04/2023 11:10

Hello @liveandlearn91 - it may help other posters if you give more information about what guy/parasite you're referring to.

Fingers crossed we're not taken over by Cordyceps but if we are I'm putting in an early request for Pedro Pascal to help me navigate the dystopian landscape.

pickledandpuzzled · 08/04/2023 11:53

Drat. Should shouted 'bagsy' first. Unless you're willing to share, @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet ? I'd be useful in a pinch, I reckon.

lljkk · 10/04/2023 20:13

I'm sure there's a theory that people who are colonised by toxoplasmosis are supposed to be more reckless.

AutisticLegoLover · 10/04/2023 20:32

Looks like the parasites were inserted rectally from the look on your face.
