Hampton Court has 2 - both flat and very fast. Also I found the new forest half to be flat.

The Robin Hood one in Nottingham is pretty flat.

WimbourneWasps · 30/03/2023 03:25

Is that one in Feb and one on March? I'll have to consider those for next year.

Hackney is mainly flat.

Beantag · 30/03/2023 07:42

Bath Half.

Grand Union Canal

No toilets on the route - that would put me off, I'd immediately need to go!

Hackney is mainly flat.

I'd love to do this one but it is sold out now. Another to keep on the list for next year.

I've done Royal Parks and Richmond and I'd say they're both pretty flat.

Floridarider · 30/03/2023 07:45

Beantag · 30/03/2023 07:42

Bath Half.

This is going on the maybe list.

Brighton, Oxford, Goodwood all flat and fast routes

I've done Royal Parks and Richmond and I'd say they're both pretty flat.

Richmond is this weekend so can't make that but will consider the royal parks - it sounds like it would be a lovely route too.

I'd like to do the London landmarks one but again would need to wait until next year for that one.

Oxford and Bath are close together in terms of dates - I'll have to see which one looks of most interest to me.

Depends where abouts you are. If you're in the North then you won't get much flatter than Vale of York, but it's not a fun course. Manchester is pretty flat too.

Hackney hasn't sold out yet.

I am really tempted by this one.

Derby Half/ Ramathon in early June is very flat.

Half of it is urban, and the other half along the river.

Urgi · 30/03/2023 13:04

I did Oxford as my first last year, really enjoyed it!

SimpleHoardOfTruth · 30/03/2023 13:15

Cambridge, lovely route. Lee Valley, all off road on tarmac paths.

VaulterTech · 30/03/2023 13:19

The Big half - sept
great eastern - oct
cambridge - March

stilldumdedumming · 30/03/2023 14:13

@Floridarider yes they are. The one that starts outside of Hampton court is incredibly friendly too.

BlueyDragon · 30/03/2023 14:40

@Floridarider if you don’t need a “name” event and you are in the South East there are lots of running event companies that provide half marathon options. Try Phoenix Running (towpath at Walton on Thames so v flat except for the infamous Blue Bridge!), Saxons Vikings and Normans (Samphire Hoe is pretty flat except for a scorcher of a hill in the middle of the sea wall course; avoid the cliff course! And their Northampton one is pretty flat too), Saturn Running (towpath at Sonning near Reading) and Engima Running (some on the Thames in Runnymede so again quite flat). Phoenix and SVN also do track ones if you don’t mind going round and round a lot. The medals are very special from all of these and the runners are friendly.

White Star Running in Dorset is also fabulous but definitely not flat!

Chesneyhawkes1 · 30/03/2023 14:44

Dorney Lake ones are flat, can be windy though
