Did the 15 minute wall sit challenge. Ha ha ha- how can sitting against a wall make you sweat so much? My poor legs🤣🤣

So there is an epic endgame starting on Jan 3rd. Happy that there is another series but also gutted that this means she will stop and probably move over to paid subscription ?

On instagram someone asks whether it's her last program and she says "I think we're just getting started".

But yes, lots of potential for her to cash in I think and set up a subscription or or paid for service.

Couple of days off for me back at it tomorrow. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

fishonabicycle · 26/12/2021 17:30

I will let you know bigbuttons! Perhaps we could grab a quick coffee (and have an arm wrestle 🤣). Have had a few days off, but did a 40 minutes full body calisthenics this afternoon in the bedroom, as son was in living room.

BigButtons · 26/12/2021 18:25

@fishonabicycle I'd be up for an arm wrestle with you!Grin let me know whenever you are in the area.
I did the full body one from tempo week. All very slow moves so I could use much heavier weights but I was sweating! I much prefer the slower workouts where I can really concentrate on form.
I bet her new endgame series will be brutal. I will give it a go though. I still hate pushups and will actively avoid them ( which isn't helpful).
I am up to London for a few days tomorrow . Hoping not to catch covid- going to a football match and shopping in Oxford street Hmm

I've also had a couple of days off, but back at the Advent workouts today (I'm only on day 12, so have a few more to go Grin !)

Melassa · 27/12/2021 09:32

I too missed a few days due to a manic work schedule last week, plus present buying dashes in between. Catching up on the advent now, did the legs and the lower abs yesterday, to day I will do a full body then maybe the triceps. I think I got up to day 18 so I don’t have that many to go. Then I will finish heat.

I do hope the new Epic will be a short one, hopefully not the 45 min/1 hour of the previous ones. I just can’t fit those into my days, particularly as I’ll be WFH less.

Itsnotdeep · 27/12/2021 10:39

I'm either going to do No Repeat week or Beast Mode and then start the next Epic on 3 Jan. Need to ease into it a bit due to the roll of bread sauce and mince pie weight gain that seems to have added itself to my body.

I enjoyed doing Epic 3 and advent as it was released - it encouraged me to do it each day, so I'll try the same with the next programme.

BigButtons · 27/12/2021 10:59

@Melassa I think a lot of people feel the same way re prog length. When she first started most people were locked up at home with hours to spare, now they are mostly working as normal and are time poor.

Hello y'all, checking in after the little break! Mid month it was my turn to succumb to a nasty virus, not Rona, just a boring common cold. Had to have a week off in the end as I just wasn't feeling well enough to do any exercise.

Since then I started on the advent calendar workouts but as this month is so busy hangover, I haven't been able to do them daily. I really like the format thought, 20 mins is perfect and I've been tagging on the Bowflex 3 minute plank workout in the end too. With a warm up and cool down it's an ideal session for me.

UglyModernWindows · 27/12/2021 14:12

Regarding CG's Epic Endgame - I remember reading an article/interview where she said she'll never move into a paid subscription as she believes everyone should be able to access her workouts. I guess with a very high level of subscribers on Youtube, she will presumably earn well from the advertising alone. I don't know the ins and outs how it all works though.

This may sounds silly but I have purchased the resistance band through her Amazon link even though I could have had something little bit cheaper. I think it's amazing we have an access to this free resource from her and by doing this I feel like I am contributing at least a little bit.

BigButtons · 27/12/2021 14:32

@UglyModernWindows I too thought that she must earn quite well from YouTube and probably gets money from Nike etc to wear their clothes as advertising. Bet they do well out of her because she is bloody amazing.
I feel extremely privileged to have free access to her programs.

UglyModernWindows · 27/12/2021 14:41

@BigButtons Me too! What a great resource to have.

I can understand the temptation to make more money but I hope she's getting a good revenue from Youtube which in turn will keep it for free for us. As much as I love and value her work, I don't think I'd pay if it moved to a subscription only. Only because I don't want to be tied to anything if that makes sense.

Itsnotdeep · 27/12/2021 18:30

The FB moderator woman has said she's still going to be doing the programmes, they are just going to have a different name/format.

I think she will stick to shorter ones - she said at the end of advent she liked them, and also including more core ones in there. I like that it's possible to stack shorter workouts so that if you do have more time you can do more than one.

I did a Beastmode today - had to go down a weight which was disappointing. Oh and can someone link to the bowflex workout please?

BigButtons · 27/12/2021 19:17

@Itsnotdeep that’s so interesting re beastmode. I found it allowed me to go up quite a bit of weight as it was slower?

OP posts:
Itsnotdeep · 27/12/2021 20:09

I think maybe it's just the excessive consumption and exhaustion of the last month that's got to me @BigButtons. I felt very sluggish.

BigButtons · 27/12/2021 20:21

@Itsnotdeep most probably. You will get your mojo back😍😍

UglyModernWindows · 27/12/2021 20:49

@Itsnotdeep This is the one I use:

BigButtons · 27/12/2021 21:02

I just hold a static three minute plank

I did Day 1 of Epic 3 this morning and got quite the sweat on. Will do Days 2 & 3 later this week and be ready for the first Endgame workout on Monday. It will be good to try and do them "live" so to speak.

fishonabicycle · 28/12/2021 16:18

I missed yesterday and today. Oops. Hopefully will be a it more motivated soon.

Yourownpersonaljesus · 28/12/2021 18:16

Hi all, I'm after some advice. I've been looking at the 24 days of Christmas full body workouts and was wondering how tough they are. I've only attempted Caroline's Epic Beginner workouts which are challenging enough for me. Shall I give them a go? I would say I'm moderately fit but nowhere near the level of you lot!

Itsnotdeep · 28/12/2021 18:38

I did the Epic beginners and went straight onto Epic 3. I would say you can start the advent (or indeed Epic Endgame that starts next week), as you can start on lower weights/fewer reps and build up from there. I went up from 3-6kg on epic 3 from day 1 to 50. The exercises don't change, the difficulty increases when you increase the weight.

(or at least that's my take on it).

I liked advent as it's only 15-20 minutes a day, so easy to fit in, but some of them made me ache afterwards!

Itsnotdeep · 28/12/2021 18:40

I did day 3 of Beastmode today. There was a new exercise - the Good Morning?!

Itsnotdeep · 28/12/2021 18:42

(and hello @Yourownpersonaljesus ! You can just jump right in I would say - I certainly wasn't an expert before I started, and couldn't say I am now - I can still only do about 3 tricep pushups)
