Might as well start a new thread. All welcome regardless of your goals, just keep moving. Everything counts towards your totals. It's amazing what you can accomplish in a year, how far you can go and all the things you see en route.

A very slack week for me. 2.8km swim on Thursday evening. Should be going swimming now but someone has made herself comfy

Especially one showing her puppy tummy.

Arrh that looks so so much little our not so wee pup tiz. See everyone says get a dog great for exercise but I swear this last year we’ve done a lot less as she does just that! Sit all snuggled on you (mine is currently snoring on my lap Grin alas she’s 3x that size now) our walks were all shorter last year as they can’t do a lot. We can do 1-1-.5hrs now as a max walk now she’s 14mths but she hurt her shoulder from overuse we think around 9mths old so we err on caution now until fully grown around 2yrs.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/07/2021 14:41

And then their walks get slower and shorter as they get old, too soon. Fortunately our old boy doesn't mind being left for quite long periods now - he just goes to sleep mostly, usually doesn't even notice we've got home for several minutes

5k walk chasing DD on her bike.
Trying to work out how to fit in 10k tomorrow, to build up my miles before my charity walk. Might have to get up early 😱

Biking0077 · 11/07/2021 15:29

Early long run for me a nice 14k as I’m slowing building up my long runs again. Flipping humid though and I was really thirsty by time I got home as emptied my half litre bottle. This is why I struggle with long runs in the summer and prefer winter running.

Been a bit quiet on this thread but I’m still running!

2 lovely long back to back runs this weekend 30km and 30km brings me to 1203km for the year.

drspouse · 12/07/2021 11:09

About 10k walk yesterday early before everyone got up (well, they got up after I went out).

ErrolTheDragon · 13/07/2021 15:25

DD fetched newly-graduated DD home at the weekend. We got out for a good walk this morning, 9.8 km

5k walk home from work... V sweaty!

Biking0077 · 14/07/2021 18:16

Forgot to add some cycling around town and a seaswim this week. Still nursing my leg after Sunday’s run though 😬need to work on adding in more strength training to protect my joints but I find it so dull.

Another 5.5k while DD was at Beavers. Gorgeous evening.
We're away camping this weekend and I can't see the DCs being that amused at camp to let me go on a two hour walk and I'm manic at work next week.

Biking0077 · 16/07/2021 20:46

A couple more seaswims, cycle and tonight’s pool swim to add. The sea was beautiful this morning calm, warm and I had a section to myself which is rare at the moment as SO many holiday makers here now.

I've been quiet but still plodding on!

I start a new job next month, after being out of work for quite a while - I'm going to miss having so much spare time to run but hopefully will still fit some in!

ErrolTheDragon · 18/07/2021 13:07

Normal schedule a bit disrupted by DD being home and going out doing driving practice with DH a lot - plus the heat.

But I took myself out this morning - lovely when I left before 9 but getting a bit hot by the time I returned. And I started to be beset by horseflies on the towpath so I returned along the lanes - which were quite nice and did have shade in some places. 8km

Good luck with the job @HapHap I hope it goes ok and not too daunting.

Yes we’ve had lots of flies & flying ants the last few days been annoying. @ErrolTheDragon

Tried to run / walk with dog this morning but my knee muscle was getting sore after just a mile Sad so had to resign myself to walking the rest of the trail 5k. Boy it was hot over 20c at 7am, pup was funny running through all the muddy ditches I felt like joining her Grin Also had seaswim with youngest was glorious we left the beach at 10am and car parks were full already.

I rode the perimeter of the Irish Pale on Friday, 305km in under 17 hours actual time. Beautiful weather and a really interesting route, it follows the medieval boundaries under English rule in Ireland. Plenty of castles and one very friendly cat!

Another quiet week, a couple of 2.5km swims, a walk to the supermarket and a bike trip to the supermarket. Very tempted to go open water swimming this week.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/07/2021 21:32

Wow... TheLongRider isn't misnamed!Shock

I m Envy of the open water swimming... having grown up by the sea I really miss it.

Biking0077 · 18/07/2021 22:28

Wow wee @TheLongRider that’s an insane distance in a day well done. It topped 30c here in the afternoon I hope it wasn’t as hot in Ireland. Do you recover quickly from that kind of distance?

TheLongRider · 18/07/2021 23:36

I'm fine now, thighs and arse are a bit tender but I'm not too bad. It's like a hangover with no alcohol consumed!

I do try and live up to my username.

That's amazing @TheLongRider !!!

and the pup is just too cute @tizwozliz

I had my first go at "swim run" this week, did the Frog Graham "Tadpole" Round and I think I'm hooked!! Contemplating aiming for the actual Frog Graham next year.....

Our lakes are amazing at the minute, in the 20s and I can't remember them ever being that high!

ErrolTheDragon · 23/07/2021 15:23

A modest but pleasant 5.4km with DD before it got too warm.
Hopefully cooling down a bit from now.
