Here we go. X

I'm not a Core fan! I find it really hard and time seems to pass sooo slowly. In some ways I prefer Grot...

SingingSands · 19/04/2021 16:34

Hi everyone, I started Fast Burner today. I've been LMODing since November-ish but lack structure, mostly just doing BP when I felt like it (trying for 3x week).

Have a fantasy where I complete Fast Burner, then see my family and they are all in awe of the "new me" 😂

Pebbledashery · 19/04/2021 16:36

Grot😂 that still makes me chuckle.
I did body attack 99 this morning after the weekend off :)

I also had the weekend off so this morning did combat 74 and core 38 as day 12 of game changer. Really enjoying it so far. Then I had a massive chocolate muffin for lunch 😄

I'm switching about my rest days so they fall at the weekend as that suits me much better.

rosettesforjill · 19/04/2021 21:43

I started Game Changer today - went for Step rather than Attack which I'm not sure was wise as my feet were all over the place 😂 still I kept moving and got through 55 minutes without breaking anything so all good!

wishywashywoowoo70 · 20/04/2021 13:47

Where did everyone get their steps from.
I've got a bench thing which is too high for doing BS and a bit crap for pump too.

I have an Amazon Basics one. You need to make sure you get one that's long enough as I believe there are a couple of options! I think mine is 180cm which is perfect for me. I would say it isn't brilliant for Pump but it's good enough given the price!

I think others have also recommended the Reebok one and there's also the official Les Mills one, although the price was too high for me.

kittykarate · 20/04/2021 15:26

You basically need a step that's about 100 - 110 cm long for it to be able to do double duty as a bench in pump.

Mine is about 90cm but I'm a short arse and willing to shuffle around until all of me is on there.

rosettesforjill · 20/04/2021 15:47

I just checked and mine is actually 110 cm ish

moiraswigs · 20/04/2021 15:52

I've the Amazon basics one too. It's grand for the price. The only thing I don't like about it is when I try to do push ups on it the ridges hurt my hands! Easily solved with a towel though.

kittykarate · 21/04/2021 09:55

Did a Barre class I handn't noticed before - Barre #A. Must have been one of the initial classes from when they were developing the program.

No joining it up into dances, very few tendus, lots of fendu leg arabesque. Also possibly the clearest 'which way to go when you're trying to pirouette'. Very clear instruction with just one person in a bare warehouse, but obviously, very few options demonstrated as only one person (so no 'If you're feeling it, do a grande battemant with Summer').

Anyway, I had a bit of sweat on, and my hip didn't hurt too much during it, so will definitely do it again.

MozzchopsThirty · 22/04/2021 14:12

I need a good BP 30 min for tonight
Did 115 for last 2 weeks

Like a squat, lunge and dead lift tracks
Less keen on clean & press due to neck issues

Any suggestions

rosettesforjill · 22/04/2021 14:29

I like United but I can't remember how clean and press heavy it is!

Did 108 last night and the squat track is great. Have had the music from it in my head all day though Grin

MozzchopsThirty · 22/04/2021 18:57

I did 110, and although I love marlon it was pretty dull without glen

Back to the drawing board on pump Confused

nbee84 · 22/04/2021 19:28

@MozzchopsThirty - back track of release 89 has no overhead work with the bar, just a few squat presses with a weight.

Hi All. Sorry for butting it. Considering signing up so read the thread. It's like a different language.

After a bit of advice please. What sort of equipment is essential? I have a body pump barbell set, some dumbbells, short resistance bands and one long one. Would I need anything else?

If you get a step then you'll have everything you need for all the workouts except the bike ones! Smile
MozzchopsThirty · 22/04/2021 22:11

@nbee84 thank you for that, I'll give it a try next week

NowYouListenToMeFella · 23/04/2021 07:58

Thanks for that rosettesforjill

rosettesforjill · 23/04/2021 08:23

No worries. I think the only thing you couldn't do at the moment would be BodyStep and the chest track and some of the tricep tracks on BodyPump where you need it as a bench. I reckon you could improvise everything else using a stair or sturdy coffee table or something.

kittykarate · 23/04/2021 09:30

@NowYouListenToMeFella, you've got a load of good stuff there!

Sounds like you have everything you need for :-

Body Attack (old school aerobics)
Body Combat (boxercise)
Barre (ballet style - can be done barefoot, only needs light weight plates for some exercises.)
Body Balance (yoga / pilates)
Sh'bam - dance!
Grit (known here as Grot! Hiit training - there are strength and cardio based variations on the torture)

You're mostly there for Body Pump. They use a step as a weights bench on the chest tracks - you can work around this (even just lie on the floor) but it's a better workout with something acting as a bench. And if you get a step for this, you can also use it for Body Step.

You're also mostly there for Core/Cxworx (recently renamed )-. This needs a long exercise band, preferably with handles.

The only thing that would need a big purchase are the spin bike based classes such as the The Trip, RPM.

I use weighted gloves for combat. Not essential but they give a better arm work out. I also feel tough with them on. If you're ordering a step check the length I've just been looking and a standard one seems to be 78cm which is a little short for lying on for pump. I'm only 5'2 and found my old step a little bit short. Found one on Amazon now. A padded mat if your knees don't like the floor much. (Mine don't) I also find normal trainers a bit cumbersome for classes so wear my flimsy sketchers
NowYouListenToMeFella · 23/04/2021 11:12

Thanks kittykarate and wishywashywoowoo70. Very helpful information. Would you mind posting the link for the step. Although I don't mind lying on the floor.

MozzchopsThirty · 23/04/2021 12:00

BC 62 is epic only 30 mins great workout

NowYouListenToMeFella · 23/04/2021 13:08

Have just signed up. Going to give body pump a go this evening. Any recommendations?
