Does anyone else exercise on Christmas day?

Just that really? We're all lazing around and I'm deliberately not doing any chores other than dinner later. And I fancy either a walk or maybe some yoga or a gentle workout.
DH thinks I'm crazy and has gone for a nap.

We usually go for a walk, and will definitely go out to enjoy the sunshine today. Nothing more strenuous though!

theinternetmakesmyeyesfeelsick · 25/12/2020 12:18

Me. And I've seen a cyclist and numerous runners this morning.

ParkheadParadise · 25/12/2020 12:20

I have been out with dd around our cul-de-sac with her new doll and pram that is my exercise for the day.
My arms will have plenty of exercise today lifting my Brandy + Coke to my mouth 🎅 🥂 🎅

It’s a stunning day!

Morning walk done

Post lunch wood walk on the horizon

The thought of being indoors all day, TV, drink, food sofa.... 16 hours .. shudder!

All of the above - with injection of two beautiful walks, lovely

megletthesecond · 25/12/2020 12:24

I always go for a run.

AuntieStella · 25/12/2020 12:25

Not this year

But usually parkrun

Melange99 · 25/12/2020 12:27

Just been to the park for a morning constitutional. Lovely sunny day. Lots of joggers!

peboh · 25/12/2020 12:29

No, not really. We usually go for a little walk around midday (before I had dd we didn't) for dd to burn off some excess energy before food. Though I don't class a walk as exercise.

TashieWoo · 25/12/2020 12:32

Usually I ride my horse and do yard chores at least one end of the day, this year I’m not for various reasons so having a day indoors with DP, it’s really lovely but I’m not used to it! Having a little rest now as I couldn’t stay asleep past my usual wake up time of 5.30am.

sundaysupperclub · 25/12/2020 12:32

I will prob go for a short run this evening with the dog.
Was eyeing up my drive which needs power-washing...but I guess I would be considered a loon by my neighbours if I did that today....Grin

ginandvomit · 25/12/2020 12:34

Only a walk this year but started off last Christmas Day with Parkrun. It was great fun, managed to convince DH and one of my DC's to join me and we wore Santa hats. Hopefully it will be possible again next year

Vicliz24 · 25/12/2020 12:36

I've been for a run and walked the dogs

helloxhristmas · 25/12/2020 12:37

We'll be walking after lunch, ddog needs a walk so it's a good excuse and it's a lovely crisp day here so we'll get out for a couple of hours.

InTheseUncertainTimes · 25/12/2020 12:38

I'm taking a few days off tracking and doing anything with a goal in mind. Having said that, the weather is gorgeous over here - sunny and frosty - and we went for a good long walk to and from the park after breakfast.

Musicalmistress · 25/12/2020 12:39

Based on a running group I'm in - loads of people! Lots of folk posting their walks or runs today 😁

MarciaMarciaMarcia · 25/12/2020 12:46

We are away, but if I was able to, I would go to the gym. (I live overseas and gyms are open).

LuckyAmy1986 · 25/12/2020 14:10

We went out for a long walk this morning. Saw a couple of runners but that was it!

SimonJT · 25/12/2020 14:19

Yep, I set up some new home gym bits my partner bought me and tested it out, then I took my son to the park to play (and test out his new skateboard) and did a 5K while he was skating and swinging around.

I’m going to do an echelon challenge later.

Coldbatteredpuddings · 25/12/2020 14:24

It's a beautiful day. I've done a 5k run this morning while the kids played with their new video games. After lunch, we'll all go for a lovely walk and then we'll be in for the rest of the day with too much food, drinks and board games 🥰

PolarnOPirate · 25/12/2020 14:25

Usually walk, am desperate to get on my exercise bike though. I like it for the headspace more than anything. I always stop feeling Christmassy after Christmas Eve and itching for a new year😄

Sprig1 · 25/12/2020 14:37

I went out for a ride while my husband went for a run this morning and we have just got home from walking the dogs. It's a glorious day here today.

applepineapple · 25/12/2020 14:53

I did HIIT and Pilates this morning and a walk before lunch. Now feel like I can sit on the sofa for the rest of the day and not feel too bad about it GrinGrin

NoPinkPlease · 25/12/2020 14:55

When I don't have covid and there's parkrun, we always do that. I really miss my Christmas Day run! Do what makes you happy!

JacobReesMogadishu · 25/12/2020 14:57

Took the dog out briefly this morning and would love to go for a bike ride but don’t really feel it’s fair on teen Dd to leave her on Xmas day .....no way would she come! So am fed up but will go out early tomorrow on the bike.

TheRuleofStix · 25/12/2020 14:59

Every year! No run this year but have been for a 5km walk and done my yoga Grin
