Sorry to hear that Sophie. Am I right in thinking you are in Greece? Have your DCs gone back to school at all throughout the pandemic? I feel your pain as mine are also remote learning, but at least this time they have proper online lessons timetabled throughout the day. I am a little more relaxed about it after hearing and seeing their lessons today.

BS WO4 done ✅

Yes I'm in greece Roonetta. We have been in lockdown since beginning of November and DCs off school since then. Online wasn't awful - they all follow their school timetable remotely (just primary school had longer breaks) but it's no substitute for proper school.

Very confused what will happen now GCSEs cancelled as they were supposed to do some language ones this summer. Our school hasn't said what will happen but at least we are lucky and they can do them in the next couple of years as they're not proper GCSE year yet.

OublietteBravo · 06/01/2021 19:13

@SophieLion - were they meant to be doing iGCSEs? Because DS’s school isn’t sure whether or not they have been cancelled yet (it’s a moot point as he’s in Y10). Ditto International Baccalaureate.

Meanwhile DD was in today doing an exam. Oh, and DS can board (and do online school from the boarding house) but he’d have to be a FT boarder until half term (he’s usually a weekly boarder). Haven’t decided what to do about that yet...

We've just heard almost all schooling is closed until the end of January. (Some exemption for special needs schools and final year exams.) So back to home schooling for at least three weeks. The novelty of lockdown really is dulled this time round. That's a tough decision to have to make Oubliette, it's a big change from weekly to term boarding. What does your ds think?

Anyway, beannactaí nollag na mban daobh go léir (wishing you all a good wishes for Women's Christmas). I usually have dinner with my lovely friends to celebrate Women's Christmas so instead I did a YouTube cardio video. It wasn't nearly so much fun --or boozy.

SophieLion · 07/01/2021 08:37

Yes sorry IGCSEs oubliette. Although school now says that some exams boards say they will do their best for IGCSEs to go ahead.

Happy women's Christmas MotherForkin!
I've not heard of that before - must wish my Irish friends. Was it a public holiday in Ireland too?

HIIT today: extreme shed and shred L1 plus day 7 of my two challenges. Might take tomorrow as a rest day - will see how I feel. Will probably do my body good to have a rest after 7 days.

roonetta · 07/01/2021 13:47

What a rubbish choice to have to make Oubliette. Not sure how old your DS is, but will it be his choice or will you have to make the decision for him?

My two are not old enough to have to worry too much about exams, I know it must be really difficult for those whose year it is to sit them Sad

Beannactaí nollag na mban daobh go léir to you too *MotherForkin" - I have never heard of Women's Christmas either and admit to having to Google it Blush

A rest day sounds like a good call Sophie

BS cardio 1 done

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 07/01/2021 15:46

No, Sophie, Women's Christmas isn't an official public holiday. If it was, the menfolk might think they get to down tools for the day too Wink Roonetta I've never heard of it outside Ireland either. The mammies of Ireland are a formidable force and when they decided they want a day off, it got done.

I had some jobs to do again today and they were a bit further than the bank so I cycled to do them. I stayed up half the night watching the madness in Washington so it was hard work!

OublietteBravo · 07/01/2021 19:02

DS is 14 (nearly 15 - his birthday is before half term, so he’d be away from us for that if he went to the boarding house). We’ll discuss it with him before making a decision.

Was supposed to be a rest day today but a live workout from someone I follow on Instagram popped up, so I tried it. It was only 30 minutes but felt like one of Jillian’s warm-ups 🤣. I didn’t even break a sweat. Not sure I can count it as a day exercised Hmm

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 08/01/2021 16:11

Sounds like all your hard work is paying off Roonetta ! I don't have those moments often so they always feel good.

I went for a hill run earlier but it was just too icy to be safe and I had to abandon it after 10mins. I went for a quick sea dip instead which was cold but a huge swell so lots of fun. Less fun was meeting someone dh works with at the beach while shivering in my togs Blush

OublietteBravo · 08/01/2021 19:04

I do nearly took a rest day. But decided I’d rather have a day off during the weekend. KB&T L2D3 & 30DS L1D8 (65 min)

Yes that was also my thinking re rest day oubliette but my body felt too tired and sore to wait for weekend.

Can't believe you got in the sea with ice about - that's so hardcore MotherForkin! 👏🏻👏🏻

5km interval run plus day 8 of my two challenges. The abs one was 100 roll ups and it took forever......

Days exercised 8

Ps does anyone else's Phone keep changing "and" to "abs" ?? It's driving me mad... Angry

roonetta · 09/01/2021 13:05

Wow MotherForkin, how do you psych yourself up to go in the water? Does it hurt when it is icy cold? You are one tough lady.

The ab roll ups Sophie, is that where you go from standing to rolling backwards and stand back up again? I can never get back up unless I cross my feet. I can’t fathom doing 100 of those! Amazing.

BS WO3 done for the last time

Days exercised 7

SophieLion · 09/01/2021 19:55

Quite the opposite actually roonetta! It's a lying down move from pilates. Lie down flat with arms stretched above head and legs out straight and use your abs to roll up/sit up to an upright position and then roll back down to starting position with spine in a C shape. Legs not supposed to move at all. Apparently one roll up is the equivalent of 5 or 6 crunches.

Your standing up move sounds harder - glad I didn't have to do 100 of those!! Grin tomorrow is 100 bicycles/criss-crosses.

SophieLion · 10/01/2021 08:22

Day 9 of the two challenges plus strength for abs, butt, back and arms and a 5km Fartlek run (I had a bit more time today to do extra stuff).

Days exercised 9

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 10/01/2021 12:51

Run and dip today. I met a friend for the run which made it far more enjoyable than usual.

Roonetta, I think because I've been doing it regularly it's not so bad, the water is gradually getting colder (6.2 today) and because I can't swim at the moment, I'm only in for about 5 mins. It's a very euphoric feeling afterwards so it's worth the first minute of shock in the cold. Childbirth style breathing helps too Grin

Sophie, you must have abs of steel to manage 100 roll ups! I don't think I've ever got past 20.

First school run this morning g after 2 months!! Early wake up was a bit of a shock to the system!

I think doing all the lilly sabri abs workouts has made a huge difference to my abs Roonetta. They were always a bit weak because of my diastasis recti.

Days 10 and 11 of the two challenges (my app kept saying I was a day behind due to my rest day so decided to do a catch up) plus a yoga flow practice for runners.

Days exercised 10

roonetta · 11/01/2021 13:51

I couldn't do the roll ups you describe either Sophie, my legs would definitely move - for normal sit ups I have to put my feet under the sofa. Grin - So glad to hear the schools have re-opened for you. By the way you are killing it with the exercise already this year. Go you!!

BS WO4 done for the last time. Cardio tomorrow and then moving up a level - gulp...

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 11/01/2021 15:09

First day of back to home schooling today. We survived it. I dragged the kids out for a scoot while I ran at lunchtime. It told them it was PE day Grin

OublietteBravo · 11/01/2021 20:12

How is it Monday again already? Weekends go so quickly. I had a pretty good day yesterday: 15,000 steps and 10km.

I finished off level 1 of 30DS: KB&T L1D4 & 30DS L1D10 (65 min). On to the dreaded level 2. Ugh.

Day 12 of my abs and glutes challenges plus a 5km fartlek run.

Only lower schools have opened here Roonetta - not sure re upper schools - abs have a nasty feeling schools will close again in a couple of weeks. That seems to be the pattern.....
Good luck for your new level of BS!

Days exercised 11

SophieLion · 12/01/2021 06:55

I rubbed an ice cube over my face this morning as a friend said it was good to wake you up. It certainly did and I thought of you MotherForkin and how awake you must feel after submerging your whole body in ice cold water!!!

Hope First day home schooling went ok.

roonetta · 12/01/2021 13:32

Impressive steps total Oubliette Star

I could do with rubbing an ice cube on my face right now after cardio 1 of BS. I roped my DS who is 12 into doing my workout with me today - he only managed 2 circuits before he collapsed in a heap. Victory to me Grin

Forgot to put my count yesterday again so days exercised (including yesterday) 9

OublietteBravo · 12/01/2021 19:11

I couldn’t quite face level 2 of 30DS, so just a short strength session today: NMTZ (50 min)
