One rest day turned into another due to not being assed decorating.

Epic day 10 Burpee HIIT workout. Exactly as it sounds, 1/2 hour of burpees. Man that was tough, my legs just didn't want to co-operate towards the end and i'll never be able to do a pistol squat, let alone into a burpee! I am not looking forward to the Tabata workout now Sophie!.

Actually I found the burpee HIIT harder than the Tabata HIIT Roonetta - Tabata was still very tough but after the Tabata I had enough energy to do a glutes workout whereas after the burpee one I was collapsed on the floor Grin

KAbs L1D2 and Ri30L1D8 (65 min). I was so busy thinking about work whilst I was exercising that I barely noticed the time passing this evening. Perhaps I should’ve done a 3rd workout.

Epic day 11 dumbbell quads and abs. Considering there was no jumping around, I was red and sweaty by the end.

I didn’t actually do it @roonetta - it just occurred to me that I might have got away with it whilst I was in the groove. I don’t think I’d have picked NMTZ though!

Epic day 18 chest and triceps. Triceps were so sore by the end that could barely do the last triceps push ups (even on my knees....)

Epic day 12 (shoulders) done. I liked this one, made me feel strong. I could only manage 2 handstands instead of 3, as the first one took me the whole 30 seconds to get up Grin

Epic day 13 (glutes and hamstrings) done. Not sure how much I got out of the first part as she used a band and I only have a cable which is really uncomfortable to tie around your legs. Not sure whether to invest in a band. Has she used bands again in future workouts Sophie? My ass will be killing me tomorrow Grin

Hi all, as you kindly noticed, I've been awol. Had a couple of bad weeks of covid burnout, shoulder pain, not sleeping, no energy or drive to do anything, so I stepped out of everything for a while. I think I've worked out the sleep issue so I'm feeling a bit more human. That said, I have decided to take as much pressure as possible off everything that doesn't need it, so I'm not going to count my days any more. I've done a couple of runs and swims and I've a plan to meet a friend for a run on Sunday which I'm really looking forward to.

The epic work outs sound bonkers. If this shoulder ever resolves I might look at them (mainly for my amusement I'd imagine Blush )

Hi MotherForkin! Good to see you back again but sorry to hear you've had such a tough time. How is the shoulder now? Lack of sleep is the worst so I hope you've solved that problem.

Totally understand about counting exercise days. Sometimes things that start out as challenges to ourselves or ways of observing progress can become pressurising. I had a similar thing on something unrelated to exercise. I realised the way I was "supposed" to be monitoring my progress was just putting pressure on me and making me feel anxious (and I'm not normally an anxious person) so stopped it altogether.

I do hope you'll still keep posting here though.

What you say about challenges becoming pressures, Sophie, is exactly what I'm feeling about counting. And if I end up feeling that I want to know at the end of the year, I can count back my posts to see Biscuit

I had a meeting cancelled last minute yesterday afternoon so after a long week, I bunked off work early and went for a lovely swim. I went again today just to get out of the house and away from the epic job that is dh mopping... Hmm

I am a dreadful wife, Sophie and ignore all heroic cleaning. Must be why I gave myself a mystery biscuit yesterday Grin

The weather is beautiful here today so I got out for a run earlier. My running buddy was feeling a little delicate so we went slowly but enjoyed it. I'd love to go for a swim but it's going to be mobbed with the sun shining (it honestly feels like a start of summer vibe) so I'll try to go in the morning. Ds is back to school tomorrow which we're all looking forward to.

Epic day 21 - lower body with a little bit of abs at the end. Really enjoyed the format of this.

That's great your DS is going back to school MotherForkin. Our two weeks of lockdown ended but of course they are continuing it so DCs online again today. Hope you enjoy your swim in the sunshine ☀️

Glad to hear your DS is back at school today Motherforkin - mine go back on Monday hopefully. Strangely I think I am going to miss them but probably not for long Grin. Good to hear your DH knows where the mop is, i'm not sure mine would have a clue.

Another rest day for me yesterday which I needed. Not sure why I am so tired at the moment. I looked back in the thread Sophie and was relieved to see you also felt exhausted after day 14 full body workout. I wonder whether everything is catching up with me now, including the extra long workouts and decorating.

Epic 15 Tabata HIIT. Lots of modifying, especially rock and roll squats into push ups! I should have filmed myself and gave you all an early Easter treat Grin
